Nice straight on drive - I always think that's a good sign balance wise.

Hi Scrolls, love your videos, can you try this for me in the nets, it's a technique I used against quicks and swing blowers , slightly open stance with a little squat, (I feel the squat as power as u lift up and meet the ball), as the bowler runs in, bat moves inline directions of the bowlers run up, elbow high bat handle inline front elbow , a back lift with bat facing down parallel with the ground, balls delivered, toe towards the direction you want to hit the ball, head elbow and handle inline with the ball, pad line is inside the line of the ball so that bat comes down beside your front pad (best way of avoiding playing around your pad LBW), and because that bat is is parallel with the ground, the bat swing down will present you with the full face and meeting the ball next to your pad, and if your hitting squarer, then front foot still moving just inside the line of the ball and bat meeting ball alittle bit past your pad playing it alittle bit later, found thins to be a really tight simple technique, being open stance took away the blind spot and stopped me playing around my front pad, my driving and punching off the back foot improved dramatically and my defence was solid, it fixed my lbw problems, Oh and if you try it can you post it please, I've taught a few kids and players this technique, just want to know from you if it's a pretty solid, I am left handed, but my oldest son bats RH. And the other thing I notice, nobody swivels during the pull shot no more, that's why a lot of guys get pinned with the short stuff, Lara and Ponting when in form would swivel

hey tom, i’m struggling with my mental game at the moment. I keep stepping away from those quicker bowlers and throwing my wicket away, but only in the nets. In games i get behind it. What mental techniques would you reccomend

RegularOrange tell ur coach to get out of the nets cause they make everything seem faster than it actually is and it’s super unrealistic as you not 100% sure where you are hitting. Try get a couple mates and go out to a synthetic field at a local park put your bags behind the stumps and just practise getting used to pace bowler by letting them bowl no balls so it’s fast coming towards you.

@@bikeburgular668 I don't agree. Nets are a great practice, obviously not ideal, but the enclosed space makes everything feel faster, which can only help you in the future when you face faster bowlers. With staying in line, I would concentrate on really watching the ball, and trying to get your head as close to the ball as possible, 'kiss' the ball.
