Thanks for the tour. I especially appreciate you showing how the bed cover operates. I just inherited my dad’s 2005 Sport Trac, and am getting familiar with it today.
Great video I just bought a 2001 2wd base model, The cables on the cover our broken I appreciate love you so I can see what I need to fix. I love the truck already
Christopher Chavira I ended up taking my cover off altogether and have it had it off most of the time since I got the truck so I have full use of the truck bed
Nice truck man! My dad had a 2003 Sport Trac XLT (green exterior, tan interior) that he bought new in late 2003 & drove it for thirteen and a half years & over 300k miles with no major problems! Still had the original engine & transmission which were still running as smoothly as when it was new! He replaced it five years ago with a new 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Wish Ford still made these!
I have a 2002 4x4 it is the best vehicle I've ever owned, 16 or 17 over the years, I'm 54. It has 270,000 km's on her and I think I'll have to finally put some money on her this coming year, not that it really needs it but I want to keep her going good for me, it's worth it. The way I look at it the only vehicle that grabs my attention is the new Bronco so looking at $500 a month payment for 5 -6 years up here in Canada. I can do a heck of a lot of maintenance for $500 a month, just because to me she is worth it. Mind you I do my own maintenance, always have- no one touches my wheels except me.
That’s awesome. I have 108,000 miles on mine and I’ve been real happy with it. Only issue I have with it, and it’s my own damn fault. When I replaced it’s tires, I now hate the tires I have on it because it’s noisy as hell. I don’t drive it much right now because of that. The new Bronco Sport’s are real nice. I have a video of that vehicle here on my channel.
I have a 2002 with 232k miles and it’s still kickin. Only issues I’ve had over the last 5 years is the fuel pump alternator and the paint fading on the driver side of the hood and fender. I’m gonna keep driving it until something really breaks then retire it
got my sport trac in 2020 before the real hit of the sickness was going on that year igot my truck in january of 2020 and i have it for two years now its been a working progress and i have a workin offroad worthy truck and i love it...... yaaaaaaaaaa
I just bought a 2005 sport trac adrenalin. I am sad it does not have the Auxiliary adapter. I think it is going to be great for what I need it for, it's like the best of both worlds. but it is a bit old, and has been having issue's, the last person owned it a year, and put in $2600, and now before I purchased, needs $2300. Though dad thinks that is regular maintenance, idk. A $3k truck that is 13 years old, needing $2+k/ year in upkeep seems a little excessive. My dad has had his truck for 20+ years, but at the same time, had other vehicles come and go, and never needed this excessive amount. It is a risk I was willing to take. I paid $500 for the mechanics, dad is footing the rest as he is doing the labor himself. In my second day the alarm horn just goes off, and the motor has begun shaking whilst I am on the highway, my last car did this. I don't know why. I hope it lasts. Fingers crossed. My dad seems to think these trucks hold their value, but idk. In my area, these trucks might be 3 years newer with around the same km's, and be sold for $17k. So, I'm thinking I bought another dud.
Looks like previous owner didnt take care of her, rock auto is the place to go for parts, I just bought new complete headlight assemblys for $56 canadian, your Dad is right, these are already becoming collector vehicles so take care of it.
you know the explorer is based off the ranger/bronco platform right so the sport trac n ranger same midsize truck you know that right they stop making the sport trac for the new rangers
It’s held up for me very well. I do have a few minor complaints but nothing to do with any sort of reliability as it’s been extremely reliable for me. Complaints are fuel mileage sucks. Truck bed half the time is too small for my needs And being a Ford Explorer, UHaul will never rent me a trailer if I ever need one. The website denies me the option because it’s a Ford Explorer
@@colinreddick You are 1 foot taller than me and I have plenty of room and I like to sit relatively close to the steering wheel. You also have plenty of room to slide the driver seat back toward the back seat to make for extra room.
@@ryanlaneplaincity Can you tell if the locking mechanism near the cab is compatible with a cab rack or the whole bed cover is compatible with a headache rack
