I have 96 skeerter zx150 never issues other than bilge pump broken exit nozzle I love this boat bought new well maintained but I’ve been looking at the new zxr20 and one like yours kind of scary bc either way it’s a lot of cash for a boat full of problems
just bought a 2024 skeeter zxr 19. nice but , i keep hearing 71 to 74 mph. the best i can get is 66.8. do u mind telling me what height your jack plate is set at.
I have the same boat in a different color. I really like it and at 19'10" it fits it my garage well. If you dont mind me asking how many dots do you have showing on the slide master and what is your top speed?
BUYER"s BEWARE!!! I purchased a brand new 2023 ZX200 this year. What a HUGE mistake that was. Here are my reason's...Skeeter Customer service personnel not even worth calling. I will give them a 1 star. Skeeter dealership's just don't care to do warranty work, poor workmanship on the seats, water leaks in the hull, coming in through the through all fittings, LiveWell fittings cracked and/or leaking, electrical wiring connections poor, not even waterproof connectors, quality of fiberglass was not completely buffed and polished, had my Yamaha 200 SHO engine in the shop 3 times, before the engine seized up. Been waiting for 3 months for Yamaha to cover it under warranty. Theses are some of things you will find out after a couple of months. Skeeter says they been in business for 75 years, my question is "HOW" were they able to stay in business that long.
Unfortunately, lots of brands are suffering from these same sort of issues, craftsmanship and attention to detail just isn't that important nowadays. Not to say they're all like that, but your mass produced boats...most are going to have crazy issues like what you're describing. There are a few companies out there still making very high quality boats though. If anyone's looking at boats, I suggest finding something used, pre 2015ish, most were still built well.
@@c.shoefish Yes, we know all the boats are getting cheaper made as well as Yamaha engines. You will always find some little thing to fix, but this boat has been a completely nightmare. I've buying boats for over 37 years some used , but mostly new. This one has been the worst, one thing after another. Like I commented before, trying to get a Skeeter dealership to do factory warranty repairs. You would have a better chance catching a fish from your a bucket of water. I know this will be my last new boat I ever buy.
@@notsogood6249 that's a shame too because skeeter has always had a badass boat. I haven't had the luxury of owning a new boat but I've worked on a lot, I've seen lots issues on most boats. The issue with your Yamaha, that may be just a lemon of an engine because Yamaha has always had a badass engine... quality has always been there...at least in my experiences owning them and working on them. I'm sorry to hear you've had so many issues man. Kinda funny, I'm running around in a 25 years old boat and it has absolutely zero issues outside of normal wear and tear, and it still runs well, if not better then anything coming out nowadays.
@@c.shoefish I keep telling myself that my Yamaha SHO 200 was assembled on late Friday, or the engine parts were manufactured during COVID. Today's engines are hard to work on other than routine Maintenace. The kicker is that my engine had been making an unusual rattle at start up from day one. Took it into 3 different certified Yamaha repair shops. The mechanics said that sounds normal with the new generation of Yamahas. I argued the fact but did not get anywhere. I was pre-fishing for a big tournament and ran into another fisherman who had a new Yamaha, and he started his up. Thats when I went to the Yamaha trailer and the factory mechanic new exactly what the problem was within a minute. (Tension Idler Pulley). He did not have one on his trailer, but since I was close to home now. I took it in my local Yamaha dealership that I have used in the past, and they changed out the pulley. The motor ran great for about 8 hours until it seized up and Hydro-locked. Now I'm waiting for Yamaha to approve a new Powerhead. I will probably be down for 3 months or less.
my new ranger was a mess was in the shop for 4 months getting gel issues fixed. never hit the water the 10 months I owned it. happening to every company it seems
