Nice review Michael. I have this bag and took it on a long day hike in the mountains yesterday in place of my Osprey 50L. The Nya-Evo was a better bag for that. I just wish it had an elastic attachment at the bottom for walking poles. I have the large RCI and it was too big so I took it out and carried the camera on my Peak Design Capture Clip and put a lens inside the bag in a padded case. It worked well, but if it had rained I would have needed to pack the camera. I may order a small RCI as an additional one. It would actually be nice to have all three, but they're not cheap!
For me the medium is the perfect one, but for trips where I don't need filters I now also have a small one. With it there is a lot of space left in the pack for other things. I also use the net attached to the bottom to pack a sleeping bag. The poles go to the side for me.
Thanks for this review. I'm currently shopping for a new backpack and this one looks great. I'm torn between it and the F-Stop series, both of which look like excellent packs. This review is very helpful.
Great you liked it. I guess in the end it's always a very personal decision, so best is to test for yourself. As I said I bought two other backpacks in the past two years and since there is always a return policy I was able to return those until I found the for me perfect pack, which is the Fjord here :-)
Great choice, i had this one on my list too but i end up with touring backpack with rear opening and medium ICU which can be fitted in any backpack for versatile options. I like to use my back pack as ordinary backpack so removable ICU was best choice. I end up with snowboarding backpack from DAKINE and TENBA icu, best dual ever. Recently i got 65l Gregory baltoro so i can take my icu with it too. Dakine has most options as backpack in video, more lighter, and twice cheaper. For me it fits best :)
Ich hab gestern mal mit dem Jensen am Stand auf der P&A gequatsch, ich muss sagen, das ist echt ein geiler Rucksack. Ich glaube ich werde wenn mein nächster Flipside im Eimer ist auf mal einen kaufen und testen.
Ja, und die neue Version mit herausnehmbaren Gürtel ist noch besser. Die machen echt gute Arbeit, immer gezielte Verbesserungen bisher und sind auch an Feedback interessiert!
Mich hätte ja mal das Stup interessiert mit dem du mit dem ding Overnight unterwegs warst, wobei ich da dann doch immer irgendwie lieber einen Osprey nehmen würde wegen des Tragesystems und der Belüftung des Rückens. :-D
Sehr schönes, informatives Video, Michael! Neben der tollen Vorstellung des Rucksacks ist mir auch die überragende Audioqualität aufgefallen. Wie ist hier dein Setup? Rode Smartlav+ direkt ins Zoom H1? Hast du die Atmo zusätzlich aufgenommen? Oder hast du noch ein weiteres externes Mic in Verwendung?

Very good review Micheal!! I just bought exacly the same bag. It is a great bag however I am surpised by the weight of this bag. Mine weighs about 2400 grams (just the bag, so excluding rain cover, net and ICU). The website states 1900 grams for this bag. Am I missing something or....? What is the weight of yours? I hope you want to share! :)

@@nerijus3000 Yea the Fjord 36 is also great. I think I'll also get one to have a smaller option for some shoots where I don't need to carry that much.
Very interesting. I am in the same position to look for a replacemrnt for my Fstop loka. One of the most important things for me is a comfortable and "breathable" backpad.. With my loka I have always wet clothes at the back, this I really hat at long walks. Could you please tell, what the other two backpacks where you tried. Cause you have really similar requirements what a backpack should do.. So perhaps I can switch two off my searching list.
I first tested one of the newer F-Stop packs, Anja or however it's called. Didnt like it. Then bought Atlas Athlete, great pack but not for me. Biggest critique there: couldn't properly attache tripod. But great customer Service. Also looked at shimoda but didn't test myself. When I found the Fjord I knew it was the one. But it will also sits tight at the back like all camera packs that open at the back. But still very comfortable

Hi Michael. Sehr tolles Video. Ich stehe derzeit auch vor der Entscheidung einen Rucksack zu kaufen. Ich schwanke zwischen dem NYA Evo 60C, F Stop Tilopa und dem Shimoda Action X50. Kannst du mittlerweile schon mehr über den Tragekomfort bei höherem Gewicht sagen? Bist du immer noch zufrieden?
Ich hab immer so um die 10kg momentan - besser als fstop. Mehr hatte ich leider noch nicht drin, die Touren kommen im Sommer ;-) bin aber zuversichtlich. shimoda kann ich nicht vergleichen.
Spannendes Teil, Michael. Aktuell kannst du es am Berg ja nicht testen, aber ich höre heraus, daß der RS. für z. B. eine Übernachtung am Berg mit Zelt & Co. durchaus groß genug ist? Denkst du, dass das Tragesystem dafür auch geeignet ist? Und eines ist für mich offen geblieben(oder I Habs überhört) : wie sieht es insgesamt mit Wasserdichthrit aus, gibt es einen Rsincover? Danke für die Vorstellung dieses spannenden Teils. MEIN alter Mamut pfeift echt schon aus den letzten Löchern 😉 LG Klaus
Hallo Klaus, Raincover ist auch dabei, habe ich ganz vergessen. Und das Material ist ein Nylon-Ripstop (sehr robust) wie es auch andere nutzen. Ich habe ihn noch nicht im Regen getestet, aber schon gelesen, dass er sehr dicht ist (capturelandscapes.com/nya-evo-fjord-60-c-review/). Das Tragesystem macht auch einen guten Eindruck. Wie es dann allerdings mit 15-18 Kg aussieht muss ich noch testen, dafür gibts dann ein Update nächstes Jahr ;-)
Sorry to hear that. On my monitor it looked fine, although I have to admit the dark parts are quite dark, but it's still detailed. Do you use a glossy display? That might be harder to see then and I will keep that in mind for the future when I process my videos
@@mibreit-photo thank you for your reply. Right now my biggest screen is an IPad with a glossy display. Also it is set to adjust for ambient light, I should just turn up the light level all the way. Really appreciate your channel thanks for sharing your skills as well as your trials with keeping everything working to the highest possible degree to be able to express your vision.
