I found this video on one of my flash drives. I downloaded it after it came out, I had it on my SSD until March 2021, when I moved it to that flash drive.
I just got an email from the Verum guy, MAIL: Hello. My name is Igor. And I'm creator of Verum 1. I've discovered 30 minutes ago and see that people are spreading nonsense and lie about me. Here is explanation of the whole situation that took place more then 2 years ago: www.verum-audio.com/apology I ask you 2 things: 1. Please pin post with this link that explains all the "controversy" or make it in the description 2. Please in the description give this link: ru-vid.comcommunity Please read what I ask in this post and help Ukraine in our fight. Thanks in advance!
Man, he probably missed out on a lot of sales because of this, and he really seems sincere in this apology/explanation. I hope he doesn't get hurt in all the fighting that's happening, or after if the russians take over. This situation is so fucked.
Wow 1 hour ago and I clicked this video by accident. Honestly for me it's hard to know what to believe. I do remember hearing that this guy was racist af, but I don't remember actually seeing anything he said/posted. His apology seems honest, but it's a bit weird that he decided to wait so long to post it. I also don't know almost anything about soviet union culture/society so I can't comment on that. We can't know if he's really sorry, or he's just trying to clean his name What I am pretty certain about is that he's probably not doing too well. No doubt the negative pr he brought upon himself hurt sales, and now with the stupid war making things worse for everyone, well he probably wasn't in a great position in the first place.
After reading what he wrote, I think its actually a refreshing perspective and a good reminder of just how far we've come. Igor, if you see this, you're a rockstar. God bless you brother
So for anyone wondering, it got removed because the creator of the headphones posted a lot of bad and racist stuff, among other bad things and he didn't want to support someone like that so he removed the video
@@Creeper99PL Wait, I saw that anthrax bit. If memory serves he was in a discord chat with his buddies and they were talking about a guy who apparently didn't like his product or him in general and so he joked about sending anthrax. if you take into account eastern europeans and their very dry, barebones humor and couple that with the fact he definitely didn't send anthrax then it definitely seems like it was just a joke. i'll try and find that pic in the meantime.
@@Creeper99PL He made reference to the fact that the review called the Verum 1's 'poison for the market' due to there low cost per performance and so the creator responded that he would make the Verum 2's 'anthrax' and send them to the reviewer as well, to 'see if he was immune'. The joke is in poor taste and has been weened out of context slightly but I'm no sure it's what I would call a viable threat.
For those wondering why Wade took this video down, it's simple: The guy who made the headphones apparently has some controversial behavior, from threatening a critic with anthrax and apparently was homophobic and racist. Wade/Dank (to placate those who are whining over me using his name) instead unlisted the video before removing it entirely . It's pinned I know, but I also decided to clarify too.
I, for one, am grateful cuz I knew I watched this video but couldn't find it anymore and just as some other comment here I've been thinking it was the Meze's for some time now. Which would be less of a problem if that didn't mean I was attributing Meze with all the awful stuff the comments said the creator of this one did. So thanks, now I can be at peace with the Meze videos of Dankpod because it was just me being wrong about which good quality headphones from a lesser known place were the ones with the questionable (being charitable there) origin.
@@kazumakazuma5814 It's not really usual to see manufacturing from UA to compete in such specific and complex niche. It's not a tank or nuclear reactor , you know.
The other part of why headphones need more power is Sensitivity, because Ohms are only 1 part of the equation. Sensitivity is measured in dB/mW. I know that 70 is really low and insensitive, and something like 100 is more common or so. Also, Audeze is kinda hated as well by a lot of people; their technical detailing is amazing, but the tuning is awful. They always put a huge hole in the upper mids (like around 4k-5k Hz), and boost the lower mids (around 1k Hz) until they sound "honky". Just look at the graphs, you'll see what I mean.
planar headphones tend to have pretty high sensitivity, I can drive my LCD-X just fine with any normal device. I have to say, they dont sound amazing to me. A bit harsh in the mids and thin in the bass. But I got used to it and they have been helping me through music production since, they are my go to tool when I want to listen to something "up close" and hear all the details. Otherwise, they are stupidly heavy and expensive. I dont think I would get worse results with some beyerdynamic headphones at about a fifth the price.
Power is literally just P=U*I, Voltage x Current. And with Ohms law U=R*I (or I=U/R) you can change the first equation to P =R*I² or P=U²/R. And none of these is Sensitivity. If you have headphones with a given Resistance (R) and you want to put out the rated power where they work, you only need to supply the right voltages. Sensitivity itself has nothing to do with the Power and Resistance, possibly just how much power it can output before falling apart.
@@Daniel-dj7fh That is a gross misunderstanding of the relationship between headphone amd amp. Sensitivity tells you how much power the headphones need. Impedance doesnt tell you much at all without also knowing sensitivity. Impedance needs to be within the amps specifications, so the amp can operate linearly and efficiently. Transistor amps are pretty forgiving when it comes to impedance, they only really go quieter with higher impedance. Tube amps however dont do well with low impedance headphones. Ohms law itself doesnt help you here, you need four pole analysis to get useful results.
A theory of mine is that the vid got taken down because the guy making the headphones didn't want to receive a sudden spike in orders, maybe he would've needed to create some sort of company before handling such big numbers idk Edit: after seeing the replies, I've concluded that there is also another answer. dank didn't want to get into any drama due to Garupsik (guy that made the Verums) seeing them and leading to some sort of chaos, so the video getting deleted now has a better reason to have perished from his channel, I guess
I fond this comment on my mail, I don't know why the comment was deleted, but it was. Mail: Tommunism For anyone wondering why this video was set to unlisted/deleted, here's the pinned comment on the video when he unlisted it: "Yup it's unlisted. I thought I did my research but many people have reached out to me about the controversy. I certainly don't support that line of thinking no matter how good the product, we all on this planet together. It's a real shame as I really do love these headphones but there are more important things than material goods. Sorry for not being vigilant everyone." To sum up the controversy, basically this dude, commonly known online as Garupsik, did a lot of batshit crazy and unprofessional things, including: posting a lot of racist stuff, blamed it on an intern, kept doing it, and threatening to send anthrax to someone who gave him a bad review.
shit, imma just "if he make a good headphone, he make a good headphone" whatever that is going on with his company is his own business, im just a guy who likes headphones.
I had no idea he even had these headphones. I'm one of the original backers on KS, and other than the obvious controversy against the creator, I do love the headphones
I saw this minutes after it came out, and was so confused when it vanished. That explanation of planar magnetics is so good, and I wanted to order a pair of these too.
@@VerumAudio Couldn't find the video or store back then, so I ended up ordering a pair of Phoenixes, but I am definitely ordering a pair come tax return. Thanks for your efforts driving the world of audio forward!
lol, if you don't have any ideas of your own, you shouldn't, but I am not sure why this deleted video is being promoted, especially when it's an advertisement for a guy who is doing something really disgusting.. not even talking about his past.. but you know.. him taking advantage of the current situation in ukraine.. you know.. using innocent people who are dying for no reason..to promote his business.
@@DankPodsFan the verum guy in your pinned comment, he is taking advantage of the ukraine people dying, for his own personal gains, to clear his bad rep and promote his site and yt page. If he was genuine about the redirecting offered help to his country, he would just send the post in second link as email and without bragging about donating. There was zero need to attempt to clear up his past racist remarks, to redirect the offered funds to Ukraine.
@@WillBilly. I said nothing against this video I just don't know why it was recommended by youtube.. probably because Ukraine was mentioned in the video and google has set the algorithm to pick up more videos that have to do something with ukraine. That would be my best guess
Jokes aside tho, in the test he records the audio of the playing headphones, why should he make a video of them if he could also just take a picture of the assembly. It's probably just a picture he made of the headphones on the stand before or after the recording, and I could imagine him not being able to bother plugging the cables in then either.
Keep your mind open and don't fall into the MSM Soros NATO propaganda pit. Keep rewatching the MSM footage then go find the Live Street cams all over Ukraine and ask yourself what doesn't add up. Especially since the covid mandates were suddenly lifted for no reason. Almost a week ago, Putin discovered and destroyed a bunch of secret Virus and Organ Harvesting labs funded by U.S./NATO/Soros/Burisma. The same Burisma that a certain Son was working for and the same ones that were paying, "The Big Guy" his 10%. MSM, Soros and NATO are scrambling with damage control right now and have been really sloppy about it. Especially with Zalinskyy roaming the streets?? There's no Russian invasion nor 20k/30k/40/ long convoy on it's way, that MSM has been claiming since last Friday. 😆😂🤣 Ain't that right JOTATUS?? 👴💤 😆😂🤣
@@MAGGOT_VOMIT you're a crazy tin hat wearing druggie, how about you focus on fixing your life Alex Jones before you fall into conspiracy theories you schizophrenic freak
The pinned comment said something along the lines "The creator of this product is racist and sends threads to all the people that give negative reviews", at least what i remember lol (don't quote me on that, idk if i am right)
What pinned comment says now is just gross.. I don't blame the uploader who got manipulated, by this man.. who is taking the advantage of the current situation(you know innocent people dying for no reason) to promote his business
Philips SHP9600MB, I've also seen a video where these were recommended also cheapish openbacks which are suppsoed to sound really good. How have your experiences been with yours? Do you have the sr850's as reference by chance?
@@mc495150 My Samson Sr850's also got around 32Ohms if I remember correctly, and I got mine plugged on the pc. I hear really quiet basses too. Maybe hit up warranty
It depends what power the headphones are supposed to run at. with P=U*I or = U²/R or = R*I² (P Power, U Voltage, R Resistance and I Current). You can kinda easily calculate what you need if you have 2 variables whcih are usually the resistance ("impedance") and power.
The Creator of these headphones maybe problematic but then again Apple is problematic. People don't stop buying Apple Products because some people actually committed suicide due to the chemicals being used in the manufacturing process of some of their products. Lots of people still have iphones if one was to trace the history of every product you find shady dark corners in almost every single company out there. Plus the guys apologised and has moved on ideologically. Redemption is a very important human quality. This is the power of the market. It can break down social and racial stereotypes.
Good take, nowadays not only is there very few small companies making good products but were to quick to cancel someone but also the internet seems to never forgive.
People see a bad thing and it consumes their entire perspective, but what they _should_ do is take a step back and see how it compares on a larger stage, like you did when you compared them to Apple.
Well now I know this video is not delisted, I wonder if there are other lost videos like iirc there was one with a proper KZ review but I only see other ones like slumping for audiophile were when only mentions it, I was trying to show a friend the review of the KZ but never found it.
Hope the pinned comment and video help spread some knowledge on these, seems the creator learned from his mistakes and was somewhat unjustly attacked for some issues not really his fault.
Also downloaded this too when it came out, good thing I'm not the only one. Downloaded in 1080p but if I upload it, it might as well be 720p because it's going to be compressed again
man i wish i didnt miss (skipped watching due to my feelings on the world at the time) the old video so this made more sense to post... for anyone wondering, the reason these run at so little power is because they are a different technology. it takes a lot more relative power to move a whole magnet with a coil than it is to run a simple electromagnet directly and let it shake the coil (copper waves on the mesh) i’m severely simplifying it and it is incredibly impressive the guys got it down that low, but nonetheless thats the basic reasoning
I've also seen a deleted Dankpods video about the Stem Player. I've found the reupload here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EyfoefElIig.html
I just read the controversy thing Creator sounds based (not the anthrax part, anthrax is a cowards poison you gotta use abrin or cyanide) Been looking for some good wired headphones so I’ll be buying some Just happens that I can also pay in their local currency directly instead of going through currency conversion which is cool
A shame the maker can't be judged for his work, instead of his politics or worldview. Too many people fail to realize, that most of the art and music and films and stories and clothes they like are made by human beings. Human beings have many facets, and sometimes failings depending on your outlook. Quentin Tarantino likes feet and maybe kids. Martin Luther King cheated on his wife. Salvador Dali was a fascist. Steve Jobs was a locally and globally famous jerk. J.K. Rowling is apparently now on the wrongthink list for some reason?? Look, if you limit your world to only things created by people who perfectly pass your ideological and moral purity test, you're going to be really, really bored.
The western people don't know there people who don't have it all. Oh for JK. she's a crazy feminist, and now you have to be a crazy trans supporter to fit in, was just wild how people got attacked for playing a game with her ip.
I was just going to suggest that might have been why it was deleted from Dank's own channel, you could see the region becoming a bit unmentionable for the last 12-18 months.
Dankpods shouldn’t have unlisted this video, sure maybe the guy said some heinous things but regardless his product is the best chance you have of being able to afford something nice. I’d rather a naughty man make a good device normal people usually couldn’t afford. I think the accessibility of it trumps whatever the man said. I bought my Verum 1 a year ago and it took three months to arrive. The cable seems pretty cheap but the headphones are fantastic and sound miles better than anything else I own.
I don't want this guy to go bankrupt or anything like that and I dont care if you guys buy from him, but he is honestly a horrible human being.. Yeah theres the past stuff he did, which he denied in his non-apology, but but more importantly look at what he is doing now... he is taking the advantage of the current situation(you know innocent people dying for no reason) to promote his business... just read the pinned comment. Truly disgusting
@@beardsntools Sensitivity is a luxury only the rich can afford. As for me, magnetic planar headphones would have been 3x out of my price range until Dank made me aware of it. Despite what you say about how awful he is, he made a rich boi toy accessible to those who could never afford to drop $1100 on headphones. That’s not just a good thing, that’s a good _deed,_ but everyone seems far more concerned with taking offense for what he’s said rather than what he’s done. Besides, your other headphone options in that price range are typically sweatshop-manufactured in China. You really think that’s a moral victory? I don’t.
@@lastfirst5863 Well I said I don't mind if you got these headphones, but it's worth mentioning that audiophiles have choices and nothing that they deem as "good" is manufactured in china anyway. My point wasn't to convince individuals to not buy from this guy, my point was that dankpods and others made the right call to stop giving him free advertising, especially since this guy has proven just now that he hasn't changed. It's also worth mentioning that it's usually "you get what you pay for". If comparable headphones are normally 1100 and these are 350 then that means cost cutting. Dankpods already mentioned two methods, but for the rest the time will probably tell. Also the pair the guy shipped to reviewers might be of higher quality, than the pairs he ships to people who actually buy them after they see such positive reviews.. it wouldn't be the first time that has happened.. even huge companies (i think it was samsung) are guilty of that with their ssds for example
@@beardsntools You’re missing my point. You say, “nothing they deem as ‘good’ comes from China anyways,” and while that might be true, nothing cheap comes from outside of China either, except this one. If you know of any others by all means let us know, because it does me no good to tell me I have choices when I don’t see anything along the same price range that doesn’t come with it’s own moral qualms.
@@p020z5 To make a better and cleaner picture I think. It's not a live video recording. he does that off camera and records just audio coming from these ears. Whenever he plays that audio recording, the picture of the correct headphones is displayed. It's funny that Wade recognizes that heaphones look better without all of these stupid wires, given that he one of the remaining popular advocates, for bringing back the ancient headphone jack to the phones.
I listened to the sound demo comparison on my NOLA speakers driven by Bel Canto monoblocks, and the difference between the two was easily discernible. The audeze were clearly better. That being said, it's a $350 headphone from a small business, so just to get in the ballpark is impressive.
I hope that the guy in Ukraine is safe with Russia being a bully and all that. I don't think they'll invite the whole country, just take over the break-away states that are on their border with Ukraine, but you never know

What Russia is doing in Ukraine right now is less than what we did when we provided aid to the Ukrainian nationalists to stage a coup. And at least Ukraine is on Russia's border, so they have some reason to be involved. We get up in the business of countries that 90% of Americans can't place on a map. None of this is relevant to our lives. It doesn't affect us. NATO was never supposed to expand so far east anyway; it's not our problem.
