Off topic, I want to know the microphone that you used in this video?

I've recently been thinking about getting these...so I don't have to plug in and could play kicking back on the couch...even have more time for lessons...and though they're pricey...they are unbelievably well designed and thought out...I mean...head tilting for rewind and forward??? Crazy awesome! Battery life might be the only thing I'd wonder about...not play time but longevity of battery (is it replaceable?)...and the playing in a noisy environment...priceless!!! I also wish the transmitter jack was the foldable type and better thought out like the X-Vive wireless systems, which is what I was thinking about getting w/ wireless headphones I could set up to use with my HX Stomp, etc...still deciding! The later might be better if I want to silently work on patches, and also be able to use my pedals in front of my HX Stomp...but I know...that's a different use idea all together...choices ...choices! This technology has existed for a long time. Look up Bluetooth guitar adapters there are hundreds there is nothing innovative here other than the sound moving at a much higher price.

Yup! They know you're poor, so they made expensive headphones for you because they also know why you are poor.

Lindsey Stirling has done something similar. She put on a virtual concert in some creative environments. She wore motion tracking hardware and viewers at home could watch the concert and make comments to show up in the virtual world.

" jam virtually with others all around the world"... Too bad this is not possible in real-time because of the latency over the internet. There are some programs like jammr that let you" jam" with others but it is not in real-time. I have not tried them, so don't exactly how it works.

Don't hold your breath. I've been waiting two years for "Fret Zealot" price to drop. Lucky for me it didn't. Meanwhile I decided I didn't wish to buy one.

Yeah, I would put it on a 1m male-female extension cable and put the transmitter into a pocket. You can get the male-female all-in-one connectors but it would make a clunky mess.

Or accept a male connector ie take rather than give it. That way you can plug in any length cable you like.

Other thing i think they missed in the design is the thing extending out so far. Its something meant for playing at home. It looks like itl get in the way when sitting on a chair etc. Even a straight jack sucks for that.. That's why you use an angle jack. How has it been though? Worth it?

Based on her using it at the show, moving around constantly, I'm going to assume its a fixed position relative to the headset. In other words, it wont place the "amp" in a specific place in the room you can walk up to. That would then require movement tracking within the room, like a VR uses

How are they working out for you? Good purchase?

It is so much easier to practice to a track or metronome and you can do it wherever you want. For example, I could squeeze in a practice session at a train station while waiting for my train. I have my electric guitar at my bed side now, so I can practice a bit first thing in the morning and before I go to sleep.

I think the "VR" stuff would be cool and work just the same but there's just no way you'll get the "chest feel" of a cabinet in headphones. Half of bass is felt and there's not a good way to replicate that with headphones for a full immersive "VR" experience.

in theory, it would give you the same experience as a real amp in a room, despite your partial deafness. I think they're probably at least worth a try!

Check out Klang Technologies - They already made a 3D IEM system a few years back and it works incredibly well!

This is absolutely true, IAM was a killer innovation, but the ability to put the instruments in space around you with monitors in would be amazing and take away some objections for musicians who don't like IAM.

This puts a dampener on things. I mean, for $700 AUD I can't afford them anyway. Hahaha.

it's the first incarnation of new tech, teething issues don't surprise me. I doubt a company like Boss would suffer such results without fixing it

It has full built-in amp-sims, multi-effects processor, and binaural room simulation. I was actually shocked how cheap they are considering how much you get. Only thing to make them more perfect would be noise cancelling, but I think that's inevitable for future iterations.

I wonder, could they be used as on-stage monitors that wul be better than regular monitors? That'd make it worth it. I can't justify spending £378 for a little practice gadget, as good as it is. For practicing, any old cheap thing will do, or I just practice with an electric guitar unplugged most of the time anyway, or on an acoustic
