My New Hammer B3 Sliding Table Saw Reveal & First Impressions

I too recently purchased a Hammer K3 after years os service with my powermatic 66. One thing I did do is turn my mitre gauge around and slid it to the top of the sliding table along with the support table. Then I push against the mitre and fence. This has worked out great and I suggest you consider giving this method a try. I feel this method is safer and makes your more visible. Great channel thank you!

I've been waiting for the debut of your new table saw, she's a beaut. I'm just a bit envious of the sliding table if I'm honest. You certainly have a challange ahead t0 re-incorporate your Incra and shark back into play. I will be anxiously waiting for the release of your videos documenting those efforts. Hey, interesting this came up on my feed. I own the K3 Winner. So no spindle yet and I'm selling it after a year of owning it!!! Because..... suspense... I bought a bigger one! The B3 perform. I love the K3 Winner but for me the sliding table isn't big enough and I want a spindle moulder. Ordered with all the bells and whistles of course. So heres my thoughts. You can fit your jessom guides to that fence. Make a piece if timber that matches the profile on top of the fence and slot it in. Screw jessom to that and done. I'm gonna send you a link for that jig. Get rid of the extension table that gives you 1200 rip. If you rip anything over 800mm you let me know. My new saw will be cut down to 800. Always check square with that slider, you will knock that extension bar endlessly! Upgrade the aluminium rip guide to the steel bar one and add a micro adjust, worth it's weight in gold. You won't need that incra thing, sell it and buy the above. Hammer have really thought about this saw, you don't need to add the incra! Don't trust the angle guide on the slider either. You can run blades that aren't felder and half the price. I don't own any felder blades. I really do love this saw and Hammer. Hope this helps.

Try part number 503-167 for a Hammer miter gauge with positive stops for angles similar to the Incra's.

Graham, I did think you might go for the Hammer having bought the P/T. As I said the Felder/Hammer t-slot is a weird size. I would check the rip fence as well as mine was ‘toed in’ and caught the wood a bit. I had an engineer reset my P/T and he also checked my rip fence and adjusted it. Dust extraction is average and I generally end hoovering mine out after a bit of use. I also went for the fast change spindle and got a router spindle. It’s not great as it doesn’t really run fast enough with small bits so still need a router/table. Did you have to pay the extortionate delivery cost and aren’t Felder accessories expensive!? Anyway, enjoy, I will watch how you get on.

I do enjoy your videos. You seem to have removed your Incra fence in recent videos. Why did you revert back to the Hammer fence?

Any chance you’ll be selling your incra sled? Can’t get one for love nor money at the moment, I’d be interested in just the without the mitre gauge or both but I’m guessing you’ll put your incra fence on your new sliding table for repeatability, the new looks a beast 👍👍

Think I had the benefit of never owning a table saw prior to getting my slider. As I think if you try to use it in the same way as a traditional cabinet saw you may find it wanting but exploit its versatility and I think you'll love it. I shall raise a glass of bourbon in celebration
