My new to me 21ft Thunder Jet Sonic 5.7 efi Marine Power and American Turbine SD309 with 4 degree wedge and hydraulic place diverter.
Hopefully open up new opportunities for my wife and I. No more fiberglass jetboats and no more rotten wood!

UPDATE: found the cause of the noise. broken impeller fin. New one is on the way with a video soon!

This is truly a good looking boat with near perfect lines and proportions! When a boat is right, it’s right. What an absolute score! I would have a smile on my face like the one yours while running it too.

I have a similar boat, designed by outlaw and built in Spokane in 2005, but 28 feet with a step hull and big block. The lines and deck design are extremely similar.

I'd check your jet drive bearings for that noise and make sure its not the jet drive rattling.

Found the issue. It's a broken fin on the impeller in the jet. Causing cavitation in the pump. I checked the pump bearings and driveline and they are all tight

@alois206 ooh wow I wonder how they broke a fin they must of beached on some rocks. On a lot of homemade jetjon type boats it makes a similar sound when the baring go out and allows the drive to wobble so I wanted to let you know before a cheap fix became expensive 🤣🤣. But with a broken fin other then the sound I wouldn't think it could cause any serious problems it might just run slightly better if its fixed.

@@pjboudwin2730 Iv got a new impeller on the way. I'm hopeful to get some more mph out of it. Probably 2-4 mph. Definitely a better holeshot too

@@alois206Definitely get it balanced before it all goes back together since you are that far into it and add a bowl stuffer and a loader intake grate. Just a thought because you are way into it now.

That seems to be a hell of a nice jet boat just to say, "blow it"?? Does it make this sound while trailered? Either way, the noise is inappropriate in my estimation. Something seems to be loose or broken; internal, external, mounts? Still, a fantastic looking boat.

The sound is from cavitation in the pump. Found the impeller has a broken fin. Got a new one coming and a video with it!

They are phantom boats because you build them. Registration is as home built no manufacturer.

That hull could have easily supported a V-Drive. Talk about going like hell….Sounds like you have a misaligned engine to jet. Did you pull your jet apart and check the wear ring and tolerances to make sure everything is in spec?

FYI; Screw is coming out at back of the Air Baffle. What would happen if the same screw was found inside the engine?

It's been fixed. Bolt was tight and bottomed out against a spacer. Replaced with new bolt. Great catch though! 👌

They are made by Eagle Outlaw but they are based in Canada. Loslts of used ones spread over in Canada

No I had the title from the previous owner so licensing wasn't an issue. Just finding specs or other owners and information is non existing haha

Some boats are like that from the early 2000s. The boat builders were small companies and some didn't keep good records or they were lost when they went out of business or changed owners. Boat hull was made by Eagle
