Tim Henson Signature Ibanez TOD10N. Details at www.ibanez.com/ TABS: polyphiatabs.com TONE: neuraldsp.com/plugins/archety... Song: Playing God - Polyphia
He took a guitar that's failed commercially in the past and convinced Ibanez to turn it into his signature guitar specifically to play this song. Amazing!
There’s a reason it failed. Even though this is a massive improvement it still sounds a bit thin and tinny. It works for what polyphia does but it seems like a super case sensitive guitar if that makes sense.
@@brynjolf3974 For sure. It works great in songs like this but would be kindof crappy for acoustic classical guitar, a random cheap 300€ fullsized one sounds way fuller/better on its own. This is mostly focussed on it being plugged it and the amount of electric nylon players is not that big. Though as someone who has played mostly classical guitar i would love to plug one of these into a DAW and have some fun :)
hell, tbh ibanez prolly owe these guys even more. Ibanez will pass Gibson amongst the younger crowd with some many influential artist's using it. Hell i've been on board ever since I saw Mick Thompsons Hate guitar when I was a kid.
Absolutely incredible. We all know that Tim's playing can stand on its own, but having a hype video for a signature guitar with absolutely no corny voice-over or narration, barely any accompaniment and complete focus on the incredibly clean tone and Tim's skill is just genius.
In all honesty the folks at Ibanez know just as well as Tim that he can speak to his audience without words. He can do a promotion without parting his lips the man is a sound wizard
fun fact: the failed original he found in europe that he had ibanez tweak to make this one cost him 700 dollars. tims such a cool dude i bet he felt like he shouldnt charge more than that
@@doinyamaam3677 yeah and there’s a reason why classical guitarists don’t use them, and regular guitarists stay away from them. They sound like shit. Polyphia just wrote a song around that sound that’s why the songs good.
It kinda look like those knockoff Chinese hollow acoustics they sell in the street. As much as the quality being godlike as expected from Ibanez, its looks doesn’t reflect it. Love the fretboard inlay though
@@TFT-bp8zk Boomer wasn't an insult for the 70+ years the term has been around. it barely just became a way for Gen Z to slander their grandparents generation in the past few years. I don't think there's anything wrong with calling yourself a baby boomer because that's factually true!
@@TFT-bp8zk what is he supposed to call himself? his generation is called baby boomer, and that hasnt changed despite the "ok boomer" tiktok stuff thats already a dead meme. don't be THAT kid
@@scarecrow7x I'll give him a little more credit than that, also I believe it's some sort of hybrid like a Godin but made by Ibanez. He's playing a style I'd more associate with Nylon/Gut string players than just, electric guitar players as a whole. His tone really reminds me of just DI'd guitar with no gain and slight reverb. Which is pretty interesting. And doesn't really give you anything to hide behind He has major chops, I don't really see any reason to hate on him as a player. But the whole Staning and insane fans of his intrigues me. Because, he really isn't doing all that much new. Yet people act like he's doing something that has never been done. Oh well, it's probably just because he's good looking.
I love that these nylon electric guitars are gaining popularity. This tone is so clean and aesthetic. I can't imagine Playing God or The Brain dance by AAL being as beautiful without these guitars
Totally agree, love the feel of classical nylon guitars, but I can’t play high on the fretboard when trying to do anything with electrics. The best of both worlds imo.
don’t forget how much hate yngwie was getting back in the day for shredding on a nylon guitar live. i’m happy to see people finally recognizing that it’s ok hahaha
I clearly didn't know what I was missing from my life but this was it I have come across you and your band and can't get enough just so relaxing and mind blowing honestly coming across this was the best thing ever.
@@jobean5073 The guitar does not sound anything like I've ever heard a computer do. Maybe parts and production of the song but the guitar playing is raw emotion, technique and style. And I say this not as a particular fan of this type of music but as a fellow guitarist.
How does one even obtain that wizardry, as a guitar player I'm stunned and amazed at the sounds you're getting out of your instrument. This is just beautiful, keep playing man.
Pure materpiece. At 1:37, it may seem strange, but it reminded me of the chorus of electronic music by Dj subatomic supernova (NSR), especially this effect in the background, which made me love this video even more.
Definitely glad this happened. Tim knew the potential of what a guitar like this could do and sound like. It’s a gift to Tim, Ibanez, fans and musicians! I still can’t get enough of this song! It has become my favorite of theirs. Playing God is just an amazing sounding song! It’s hard but groovy! I can’t listen to it without moving my head, lol! The guitar looks amazing! It’s slick, almost minimalistic but with great fantastic detailed accents that compliment the guitar. The colors are perfect for this guitar. Wow! The sound is ridiculous as well. As someone else said it’s a piece of art! Well done! Genius to have Tim in the ad and playing this song that really lets you hear that sound.
That's a modern guitar hero folks. You thought they died after the nineties, but these young guys are proving that our generation has evolved and the icons have evolved with it.
This man is really an inspiration. Never in a million years would I have wanted a guitar like this, but seeing what he can do with his makes me want to give it a try.
@@scarecrow7x Listen to how the man plays. It’s a style of music that not a lot of people have heard before. That can be inspiring to a musician. I’m primarily an electric guitar player because I don’t really enjoy a lot of acoustic music. I enjoy his acoustic playing quite a bit, so that inspired me. There’s no need to call somebody a sheep for getting inspired.
@@scarecrow7x You just sound upset man. Why do you care what inspires people? If you don’t like the dude, cool. Go listen to your classical virtuoso music and sip your soy latte.
@@scarecrow7x I appreciate it man. Just felt like you were coming at me at first rather than providing alternatives. I’ll check it out. Mocha is a superior choice.
@@scarecrow7x dude your insight would actually be cool if u weren't constantly sucking and throating your own boots as if you're somehow superior for enjoying different types of music. The og comment just said he was inspired and you came along sitting on it and everyone calling you gets the exact same treatment. You are the exact type of person no one wants in a community.
Probably the best sig guitar promo vid I have ever seen! Awesome job dude, you guys are blazing a new trail for the future of guitar based music and the timing is just perfect!! :)
Your music is such an inspiration. You published this earlier today and already 200,000 views, 25k likes and a thousand comments. Obviously I'm not the only one that recognizes your genius. Outstanding!
I been playing for 35 years and You are Amazing. You are the New era of Sound and Music. I hope more kids start playing Tech intense stuff like this. SO much better then the last 20 years. THANK YOU. Music THANKS YOU. Sound THANKS YOU. THis world should be Thanking You.
I have to put this out there because I'm not seeing enough of it but on top of being ungodly skilled and talented, this man is so God damn beautiful it inspiring.
This really is one of the best looking electric-acoustic guitars I've seen. I was sad to see that they were unreleased when I first saw you playing it, but damn now I want one
I love that they basically created a new music video to showcase his new signature guitar. I also thought it was a really nice touch how the arrangement was sparse, especially in the beginning, to highlight more of the guitar.
it’s crazy. i remember when yngwie was playing nylons live with a pick he was getting sooo much hate for it online and that was maybe like 12-13 years ago. now we have a modern guitar player doing the same thing on a signature model. both different styles of music but tonally it’s very similar. i bet a lot of the people praising this signature were some of the original haters back in the day for shredding on nylons with a pick. in any case congrats on the sig, hope people buy them!!
This is a very impressive guitar I've never seen anything like this before I love how it's got an electric body type then has the classical guitar headstock
Tims at Vai status man. 2 signatures! 👏 congrats. Ive been an ibanez man since I was 10, 41 now. They are killing it as a guitar company with designs and a sick roster of artists.
My goodness… I can’t even play the guitar, but after watching this, Ibanez and Tim made the right choice… Tim, thank you❤! Such a beautiful song! And I can’t forget about the rest of the band! Thank you!!!!❤️
Finally, I’ve been building guitars for fourteen years and usually never care for factory models but I loved this one so much I didn’t want to just copy it, I want the real deal.
Tim Henson is the Hendrix of this generation... this kid and Polyphia have COMPLETELY redefined what guitar can be. We wanted this acoustic now we got it!
Hate the sound of plugged in nylon, but your playing salvages the snappiness of those top 3 strings. Love the fact that there is a side sound port too!
Absolutely beautiful! Couldn't find any information on the price on the Ibanez website, but other sources estimate it might land somewhere in the 700$ range, so actually an affordable signature for once! Still hope that Ibanez will release that sweet light-grey/ silver electric guitar that Tim was playing in the NeuralDSP trailer.
Beautiful!! Nothing but fire from these dudes. Looking forward to how their sound evolves in the upcoming years. Wish they would incorporate a keyboard player in their sound. Moog, Hammond, Rhodes, Hohner Clav and a Mellotron to add to the sound. 🎉🎉🎉
