Hey, you know what most people don't realize is that a Sunbeam Alpine(or Tiger) was such a bare bones sports car. It had a roomier interior than a TR4, but it didn't have all the detail. Little things , like extra chrome on the deck lid, etc. It had so many features you could imagine adding to it because it was such a blank canvas. I think you got a good deal on this. If you fixed that top up and sold it, it would pay for other necessary parts you need. Good Luck and thanks for sharing.
I have a Ford 260 engine and automatic transmission if you want to turn it into a Sunbeam Tiger. The engine ran good when I pulled it but is stuck from sitting. The car actually did belong to a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays. But most of the time it was parked in her swampy back yard and the frame rusted. I know these engines are hard to find but I'll sell it cheap if it's going to a good cause. I'm in Maine. I don't know where you are so It may not be worth your time. Check what a Tiger sells for and decide if it's something you want to do. Or you could sell me the car and I'll do it.
@@michaelannen4168 No it's from a 1964 Mercury Comet. The same engine that was used in the Tiger. I think the Tigers were all manual transmission. The 260 had a smaller flywheel and bell housing than the 289. The 64 1/2 Mustang might be the only source for these parts. Or maybe a 1964 Falcon sprint. My wife got the car from the old lady and drove it for a few months but had to give up on it because of the frame. My son saved the engine and put it in a 47 Ford pickup but changed his mind and put in a 350 Chevy.
