I think that choice band dracozolt would be stronger it has a base attack stat of 100 and it has bolt beak which is the same a fishcious rend. It also get access to the ability hustle which would boost bolt beak.

@@spartenofpie Yes it was. IIRC Wolfe explains in one of his old post-Worlds 2016 videos, that he had basically lost the Finals. There was one move he could make to salvage it, but he really needed to sell it, so his opponent would go for the obvious win. Brb. I'm off to rewatch the game, and check if I can finally comprehend just how Great that set was.

Daniel Pereira I’m not sure that Lucario gets beat up but the strategy is to use beat up with whimsicott onto your own lucario because of his Justified ability. The 4 hits from beat up will raise your Lucario’s attack 4 stages. Doing it with whimsicott is optimal because it’s so fast and does little to no damage with beat up

Beat up-justified combo is a set I used to use back in previous Gens with Terrakion instead of lucario. STAB Rockslide with the insane attack boost was the bomb.

Something great this has going for it is that Beat Up, being a non-status move, is not susceptible to (Prankster) Taunt, which has been the bane of every "gimmick". This is definitely VERY powerful.

In short the old speed mechanics like say excadrill sand rush would take effect the next turn after setting up sand, now if sand comes up it boosts speed as soon as it’s set up so you will hit next even if your opponent was faster at the start of the turn

I'm trying to learn how to battle competitively. It's a bit hard. But I love watching people use sets I've never seen before. Makes me appreciate the creativity people have. My one weakness is that I hate using status moves. Lol. I need to work on that. Loving this team you have.

Been running this same combo of Whimsicott + Lucario (Scarf Hydreigon too) and it really is strong in this meta, more because of how useful Whim is rn rather than Luc itself. I run shadow claw instead of meteor mash because Im afraid of Aegi completely stopping him and for the defense drop too but hasn't come up too much lately so will definitely try out your team.
