After 2 HOURS of throwing swim baits, flukes, and worms with nothing but a sun burn to show for it, I decided to change spots and bust out my new ultralight combo. I haven't really had much time to play with it since I got it, but so far, I'm happy. If you wanna see a full review, let me know and once I get some more time on the water with it, I'll make that happen.

Might have to try to get it custom poured to get that color. That “Coppertruese” is a color Zman makes too…maybe check into their baits? Good job Joe! I’d love to catch a snakehead one day🤘🏻

I do like the zman color, but I like this bait profile a lot! I wish I could say I'd put you on one, but it doesn't look good for our meet up unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a next time and if you come further south, I will definitely get you on a snake head. With 40 pound braid tho instead of 4 pound flouro HAHA!

That's the way to break in a new combo and would love to see a review on it in the future. A few small and that 3 pounder LOL Catching them on your own jigs has to make you feel good. Great job Joe!

Thanks Larry! I will very likely do a review on the combo once I get some more time with it. People know I'm a huge fan of 13 fishing, so I have to make sure my reviews are as non bias as possible. That bass was a nice surprise. Heck, so was the first one! LOL. I was out for hours with nothing. Turned the day around quick tho. And that bass didn't bend out the hook or nothing. Speaks to the quality of the hardware I use. That's something I'm proud of. Thanks again bud!

It does make every catch a little sweeter when it's on my own gear. And less annoying to lose it. LOL. Technically, I was returning fire at Buck. You may recall he referred to me as "a little ugly" in a recent video. I have been all over the net. It's called a RollR shad. I have found every color except this one. The packaging is useless for info too. I may just tale away and do a tour of my local Walmarts and dig through the bins. I know Ted could probably match the colors, but I really like the bait profile. Thanks Chris! 🔼⬆🥶🤣

Awesome, that Louisiana 3lber had the mouth of a 4 or 5 pounder, and it's amazing it would be interested in that tiny lure, Haha. It would have been icing on the cake if you managed to land that Snakehead.

I really thought he’d weigh more. Maybe just spawned out? Real skinny fish compared to the head on it. Or maybe he was just that hungry? I think I knew it was a snakehead when I cast at it but hard not to take a chance at a shadow that big. O well. I’ll try to get him again. Need my jig head back! Lol

Amazing how often I've got nothing "bass fishing" and then when I switch to a lighter setup with smaller presentations I start catching bass left and right. That was a nice bass there too.

Its true. The UL (almost) never disappoints. I like this rod too. Nothing overly amazing, but I have fished worse in that price point. Very comfortable grip.

Once upon a time, I lived in Oklahoma and did a heap of Flyfishing, in ponds, it was nothing to catch 5lbs and bigger bass on a tiny popper! Ultralight Fishing is so under rated!

VERY underrated. I actually just got into it a couple of years ago myself. I also have a fly rod. My technique is trash, but I enjoy it anyway. I may have to break that out and do some canal fly fishing! LOL

Man you hooked up to quite a few nice fish in today's video. They are some fine jig heads you make there. That's a very clean looking combo. I like that clean classy look of the rod & reel. You got good taste 👊🏼

Bro I would be lying if I said the looks had nothing to do with it. I saw the rod first and REALLY liked the design of it. It's got a great grip part too above the reel. shaped a little different and I like it! Then I figure the same brand reel would match up well. Ultra Lite - downsizing works for me when they are being stubborn. Bobby Garland is pretty good stuff- I like their baby shad lures

I just rigged a ultra light rod with a 2000 series spin with 4lb test and plan on getting to the pan fish soon. Its always a blast working the hogs on light tackle. I need to get some of those jigs from you and see if they work up here. I bet they will!

Sucks when you find a color you love...but then you can't find it again. Last time I found one I LOVED, I went to Cabela's and bought every pack they had so that wouldn't happen again. Missed the mortgage payment but well worth it 😂

HAHA! I'm sorry, the correct term is Sack o Lays? Right? LOL. I think as I am in Florida, I am supposed to call them "specks" but that just doesn't seem natural to me. I love the looks of this combo. It's really the main reason I put it together. Works well so far too. 3/32 oz is its limit and it casts them great! I was tossing around a 1/16 after filming and it launched them too.
