I had a feeling it was L&D!! I’ve been in L&D now for a year after doing medsurg for 18 months and I love it!!! Definitely very scary at first and alotttttt to learn but it’s amazing and beautiful! My orientation was 4 months and I feel like it could have been longer 😂

I have no idea how I got here, I’m a paralegal graduate interviewing at law firms but congratulations! I love nurses

Yay! Congrats! I just started working in L&D last month after 15 months in cardiac surgery and I love it! L&D was always my first choice, so much to learn everyday but I love going to work now and that makes all the difference! Ps: i had the same experience applying to L&D but I didn’t care either and applied to every single L&D position I saw even when they asked for experience and God looked out!

I just got hired into a level 4 NICU and I agree - be persistent with applying! And almost all my questions were also behavioral/situational as well. Congrats!

At the hospital I got hired onto, the residency program allows you to move units if it wasn't what you expected it to be (such as oncology --> telemetry, etc.) within the residency period, so I think that's a good thing to look for when applying for different hospitals.

Welcome to L&D! I was a new grad in L&D a year ago and I got my job in much the same way! Completely unexpected but within a month I moved across the country and started. It’s been amazing. A lot to learn and definitely a high risk specialty...but the absolute BEST! Congrats 🎉

OMG, im in my last semester of nursing school, and yesterday was my first day back at clinicals. We missed 3 weeks already cuz it kept snowing here in CT. But my clinicals instructor is so AMAZING!!! I feel so comfortable around her, i don't feel nervous asking questions and guidance. My patient was also great yesterday! I have 1 day clinicals, a 12 hours. Im really happy with how everything went yesterday! Its a drastic change from my previous clinical experiences to now.

Really excited for you. I used to be an LPN on a Med/Surg floor and get floated to Oncology at times. It’s really stressful and it is not for everyone. After getting my RN, I stayed away from that specialty just because it is not for me. I really give props to Oncology nurses. Mother and baby or NICU is where I want to go but I’m so happy when you didn’t gave up applying after getting denied so many times. Really makes me having a lot of hope for myself ❤️
