My Rambler Vacationer TT camper came with a good sized power inverter that uses a deep cycle marine battery. It can run the refrigerator, lights, etc, but would not last through the night. So I got the cheapo HFT generator, rated about 800 watts, 6-7 amps, same as inverter. A tank of gas lasts about same as deep cycle battery and inverter. So it may be OK for short term, like a power failure or flea market, but long term boondocking or boating is a no go. A solar panel is a must. For longer time, MORE BATTERIES (and gas) are needed. I like the idea for radio porta-power, this would be ideal for a 100 watt transceiver. Your pack may use lith-ion batteries instead of SLA.

I also have a 30 amp 10 hp generator with eight gallon tank, available at many stores for around 500$. It's noisy, but can run my fans, lights, friges and freezers for a long time. The best way for the home in a power outage is like a Generac that runs on natural gas. I'd like to convert my generator to run on propane tanks like I use for the bar-b-que. So that would be at least three large 100+ amp hour batteries plus at least 400 watts solar panels to recharge them, plus inverter, which would cost a bit more than a generator. And batteries would not give full power 24 hours, no can do unless you ration power. But the generator uses a tank of fuel/day at 15$+. This 411 is for those who live in storm land (hurricanes can destroy solar panels too). The best would be both systems.

I've looked at some small refridgerators that run well for only about 35 watts. But at a cost one way or another. Those are build to be extremely efficient and also really stuffed with insulation. For only a mid-side cooler, it goes around $500. Can buy a lot of ice for that for my cooler! See ya -- Atco

Hi Mark, you can buy it easily off Amazon. There are quite a few different power stations on there from cost of $175-$1199 depending how much power you need. If you're just starting to learn about these, get on RU-vid and search on Best Power Stations. That's what I did and still are. Quite a few channels show lots of info on them and help you to find what one works best for you. See ya -- Atco
