Hey Chaps! Are you on Windows or Mac?? (and why?) Correction: 20 -> 120 FPS is 6x faster (not 5x… stupid Tom)
@HDRPC
@HDRPC Год назад
I am on Windows because everything is just works as it should like overall windows os is the best for creators and productivity like the best for music production, video editing is the best on the planet thanks to Intel and Nvidia, best for 3d artists, vfx cgi and animation and gaming is like bonus/cherry on top, best for coding as well, etc etc. Best displays, best connectivity, best user experience. I cannot believe how fast windows systems are evolving. Later this year meteorlake laptops on Intel 4 node with L4 cache "Adamantine" with better battery than m2 pro(leaked by trusted leakers), new media engines like and 2 times faster igpu. 13 gen is already faster even running on battery power than m2 pro and max for creative work. Then in 2024, we will enter in angstrom era like Intel 20A node with RibbonFET transistors(GAA) and "power via" backside power delivery, all these tech in arrow and lunar lake laptops. Exciting times a head.

Both. I've had an ASUS S15 ZenBook for several years, which my wife is using now for personal use, and it's been completely reliable. I transitioned to MOSTLY macOS a few years ago --- I still have a modest Windows desktop for some legacy apps that can't be duplicated or replaced. My portable computer these days is an M2 MacBook Air.

@@Dayum62499all have better affordable pricing than macs. Windows laptops provides a lot but costs less than macs. Windows laptops has better value overall considering oled display, way better CPU and GPU performances and overall performance. Wow, this thing looks amazing! It really checks all the boxes, and it even doesn't have the ugly plastic, protruding bezel that many other Windows machines have. And this video was so helpful, including your providing the speed of the sd card reader. I'm hard pressed to find flaws in the machine; maybe it'd be nice of one of the TB ports was on the other side, but that's really nitpicking. Speaking of nitpicking, perhaps giving a mention of performance while on battery would be helpful. A ton of Windows laptops perform so poorly on battery, but it varies from OEM to OEM exactly how much power is allowed to be used while on battery. It would be nice to know how this one does in that area. Otherwise, this was an excellent video IMO.

This is why I stuck with my M1 MacBook Pro. Windows laptops have atrocious battery life, bordering on unusable without standby power. They estimate 10 hours but it’s most likely just 2-3.

No ugly bezels on the ThinkPad P1, which is my favourite Windows laptop if you need a very powerful CPU and GPU in a slim and gorgeous chassis. Mine has a 13900H + RTX 4090 with a stunning 4K OLED screen. Just don't expect good battery life, though. Oh well, that's why Apple Silicon Macs exist...

This is the Way. Matthew Moniz did a review of the new 2023 G14 and that has a throttling problem when you press the turbo button. But then again, they stuck a 4090 in a 14 inch laptop even though its gimped. Same with the new Dell XPS 15 4070. Way too much for the thin chassis. Just Josh did a review on it and said that i7 isn't a good fit for the chassis. The older model was outperforming the new one.

Also a couple of Lenovos on my shortlist, but I've seen plenty of quality control complaints about Lenovo laptops. And it's not always about the chassis or some physical flaw. My cousin's Galaxy Buds didn't properly connect with his brand new Lenovo and he had to return it after wasting hours with Lenovo technicians, but his Asus had no such issue (both Windows 11 machines). So make sure you get acceptable return policy and customer service from Lenovo in your region.

I think you should show the actual screen content on the laptop, and not with overlays. We need to see how it actually looks ;) Or am I mistaken? It just looks like added overlays.. but maybe that’s oled making it pop so much

I picked its older, cheaper brother (UX3404) in September and it's been a decent second machine while on the go (I do mostly Architecture / 3D) - The 13900H is great, storage and RAM as well. I've been quite shocked by the battery life too (maybe 3-4hours of normal work in 3D) and the fans get pretty loud under quite simple load. Paired with an eGPU it's a solid machine, which I had known about the 4070 variant back then

been looking for a comment like this 😫 for now I only use lumion and sketchup for rendering, I dont get most of these tecnic details, but the thing im worried about is the noise and heating, do you think I’ll get those issues with those softwares? I dont think those are as heavy as maya or rhino but still worried ab it
@BenleGentil
@BenleGentil 4 месяца назад
@@coti1468 I would expect a very similar experience to mine. Anything I've done outside of web browsing as resulted in the fans starting to ramp up (I use it in performance mode though). Personally heat was never an issue (I always use my laptop on a desk, never on my lap and with a mouse & keyboard), noise is fine with any kind of noise-cancelling earpod, but you're not in macbook territory that's for sure. TBH if your workflow allows to go on mac, this might be a better solution (noise & heat-wise). I'm stuck with windows because of 3d rendering

What I love about my MB Pro 14 is that I can rest it on my lap or a cushion with a case on and do office work, and it stays cold and silent. Every Windows prosumer's "thin and light" laptop warms up just surfing on Chrome, and that is without a case. If a computer cannot do the basics like running comfortably on your lap, it is undoubtedly no Macbook killer. As for battery life, over the weekend, I used >3 hours SOT and >48 hours standby on my MB Pro 14 and used 25% battery! I am currently testing the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 i5 (16-inch), and 7.5 hours is my best, running continuously! As you are aware, the 16-inch MB Pro has even better battery life than my 14-inch! These two advantages make the MB Pro an easy choice for me. I do not play games, nor am I a prosumer; I buy the higher model for the better specs.

Trying to decide between this (w/ 4060), ROG 14" 4060, and waiting for results of Lenovo Slim Pro 9i 14". Really tough here, and the Lenovo hasn't even been reviewed yet. ROG 14 has significantly better battery and is cheaper but with a worse screen.

Can any of you please tell me if the oled on zenbook 14 pro is better or the mini led on zephyrus or the flow x16.? Keeping aside the refresh rates and all.. considering just media consumption and first the look of it. Hoping for a reply..thanks!
@Havanu81
@Havanu81 Год назад
@@ananttomar1865 They're both very different animals. The x16 miniled is much brighter but uniformity is a problem when enabling the mini-led function. Some ghosting as well due to dimming. The OLED is dimmer (550 vs 1100) but has better blacks and is more accurate. The OLED is a bit "grainy", not sure about the X16, it's been a while and I only briefly used it. Both are excellent btw.
