I originally found him when I was going through a really bad season of not being able to sleep and I literally was crying out to Hod one night that I needed help for physical rest. And I found that channel and that was one thing I could listen to while studying for or going to sleep and setting the sleep timer.

I have 2 rain sound apps and they are great because no loud commercials. I also have these portable battery red reading light from Amazon. They are great if you trying to improve your sleep and brain health with less blue light after sunset. I’m going to check out the asmr background channel you mentioned.

I just found you and I’m so glad I did! Just subbed. I related to so much of what you said. As a fellow ADHDer, I also need wordless background noise to keep my monkey brain distracted so I can focus if that makes sense. If it has words, then I sing along and have to re-read the same paragraph 6 times. Prayer journaling is so much better for me than verbal prayers as I stay more “on task.” I also related to needing to balance the amount of time studying but not overwhelm to the point you freeze or put it off entirely. Additionally, I’m also a night owl vs a morning person and I used to beat myself up for not having a morning quiet time but God’s outside of time, so He doesn’t care when as long as you show up! I really enjoyed your video! I have a tendency (like you mentioned) to make Bible study and prayer routines too much of a ritual. As soon as I see I am getting stressed when I forget to do something one day, I put the brakes on and reexamine my motives. I'm glad you so addressed that. I love Coffee and Bible Time. I have their prayer journal and I was considering buying the mini prayer course. I totally love the Enduring Word commentary as well because of the fact that he pulls from many different commentary sources.

My pastor just started a series in James and I haven’t filmed in a long while on my channel. Maybe I should start sharing on my channel again. What you said about Bible study not becoming a stressor is so important. I went through something like that this past year. I love Bible study but it was stressing me out sometimes because I felt like I was playing catch up more the. Just enjoying my one on one time with Him. So I cut out ALL the different Bible studies I was doing and just focus on my pastor’s message during the week for my intensive Bible study. And I do play my audio Bible on the morning!!

I thought this was interesting. I try to do my Bible routine in the morning. Sometimes I’m so tired and I don’t get it to it till the late afternoon. Or sometimes I’ll do a split between morning and afternoon depending on my level of fatigue.

Yes, everyone is different and shouldn’t feel pressured to do something a certain way or a certain time of day. As long as you’re spending time with Jesus, that’s all that matters at the core of it. ❤️

As you see I have both. I am really enjoying the spiral Bible, the issue is that to get the whole Bible it is expensive and I wouldn’t be able to take all of my spiral bibles to church. But, for home study. I’m really enjoying it. 😊
