I love my ninja creamy I, but it caught on fire the other day. Here’s what you need to do sort of that happened to you. Ninja was great and sent me a new one.
Thanks for that explanation at the end. That put it all together and showed the importance of having a level freeze surface. Sometimes my freezer is full and I have trouble getting my container nice and level to freeze. Now I know how important that step is. And giving the ice cream a few minutes to thaw too. I usually put it in the microwave for 20 seconds (Creami Deluxe size container) and then run hot water around the sides for a few seconds as well. My ice cream usually comes out perfect on the first try. This was a great video to explain why these things are important to do. Thank you. 👍
Hmm. It does sound like a recall, and I am surprised they didn't want you to send them the bad one. I don't own one but I am researching them. Thank you for the info.
Mine just fell off too. Smoked and stunk up the kitchen… I guess I also had an uneven top. Thanks for the tip! Update- it’s still just falling off. Back to Costco.
If you want to avoid the bump just freeze your pints without the lid. When the lid is on the center of the pint is the last part to freeze so the only way the content has to expand at that point is up, creating that annoying lump right in the center. This might not work 100% of the times (I read some people say they still get the lump from time to time) but in my experience it's really effective to avoid that bump in the center of the pint. Thanks for sharing this with us anyways, I'm sure it will help many people know how they should use their Ninja Creamy.
No fire but the same thing happened to me. The blade would detach will working. However, ninja customer service hung up on me. I was having trouble understanding the person’s English & asked her to repeat. The 15 minute thing sounds reasonable. No one mentions how loud the thing is while working-like a train in the house. Maybe partial thawing would help.
Exactly the video I was looking for, I had the same issue as you! Luckily they sent me a new machine as well. I was thinking another factor could be I use almond milk which probably freeze like a block of ice but I'm not sure about this one as it seems many people use almond milk without any problems.
Part of the problem can also be your frozen mix. Milk freezes HARD, and I have to check, but I thought the manual warned against using milk for this very reason. Most recipes use plenty of fat, protein or starch to make a softer mix (that oh so popular cream cheese). That block of ice plus the pile of random chunks on top of it are very tough on the blade and should be avoided.
@@monisamontoya288 Foods in your freezer should be sealed in airtight containers, and your freezer should be clean and not smelly so that shouldn't be a problem.
I've been using my Creami for more than a month now almost.everyday and I don't thaw. I just make sure to get rid of the bumps every single time and I never get this "common problem". Though there are times it makes me a little nervous if I see the creami shaking.
The metal pole that drives the blade lost or is slowly losing its Magnetism. So the blade falls off. When you get a new one, check it out. You’ll see it sticks on it magnetically.
Exact same thing happened to me... sparks, pint was glowing red hot and when I removed the lid it filled the kitchen with smoke. This is our 2nd one with the same issue... we are returning.
So this just happened to me, except no fire. The rod is stuck in the down position, its defnitely stripped. They need to make the road and blade easily replaceable. I threw away the box so hopefully they still send me a replacement. I always thaw for 15 minutes and scrape any rises in the frozen base, so thats wasn't the issue. Was making my own frappacinos every day, was great for 2-3 months. I think this is a very common problem. Will call them tomorrow.
I am so sad. I bought my ice cream machine in the United States, and when I got back to Brazil, I noticed that the latch was broken. Now the "Install" light keeps flashing, and it won't turn on anymore.
This happened to me today on icecream #3. I was already nervous because of the loud noise. Was not expecting to see fire. Lol They are sending a new one.
I just came to RU-vid to see if it has happened to anyone else - YES it just happened to us! Fire in my sorbet (sounds like a great name for a song!) and the metal on metal grinding made metal shards go into the sorbet! I will contact them for sure -thanks!
You obviously never use a creami. You can leave it flat as pancake. It will eventually fall off over time. Just depends how much you use it. It’s a really bad design. Hopefully, they will fix it in the future.
