I own a 2021 Nissan Pro4X, I really appreciated this truck last winter (2023) when we got 3 to 4 feet of snow at my house in Las Padres National Forest just north of Los Angeles. The Titan was able to just drive over the snow without any problems. Even in 20 degree weather the truck started on first try, and performed better than expected. Recently I had to tow a 7000 pound trailer from Petaluma, California to Burbank, California, mileage average about 11 to 12 miles to the gallon. The Titan had no problem going up the Grapevine on I-5, in fact I was passing cars going up the grade with ease. I definitely recommend this truck and some dealers like AV Nissan offer a 200,000, 20 year warranty for any new Nissan. Nissan offers probably the best warranty of any manufacturer in the business.

That’s great to hear stories like that. I believe a lot of people are on the fence about Titans because they don’t really know the capabilities because they’re not marketed well. I think it’s by word of mouth people really know what the trucks are capable of. What I tell people is that the 5.6L engine has been around for along time and can pull it’s fair share and accept abuse. I haven’t heard about the 200k mile warranty, that’s wild! That tells me Nissan will stand behind its product. I’m a believer and couldn’t be more happy with my truck. I’m glad your truck is treating you well. Owning a Titan in CA has to hurt at the gas pumps. I lived in San Diego for a few years with a Altima and Maxima and cringed at the gas pumps. Lol. Also, to your point about towing I also towed 7k lbs and averaged 11-13 mpg.

I’ll say there’s nothing like a V8. If you can find a good deal on anything V8 go for it. The Titan is V8 is simple and strong for a half ton. The deals on Titans right now are pretty good but make sure you find something you like and can afford. All trucks have their quirks it’s what you are able to deal with in the long run. I had a 2012 Pro 4X, and it was one of the best trucks I've ever owned, and I've owned about a dozen of them. Sad to hear they will be discontinued. I had the same experience with the 5.6L and premium fuel. You could feel the difference with a higher octane fuel. I averaged around 14mpg but man, that 5.6 ran and sounded like a nascar. It's one of the most fun engines I've ever owned. A proper 32 valve V8.

I have recently picked up the same truck, same package and options. I'm coming from an SV and a diesel Pro-4x XD before that. I missed the pro-4x package with the SV a lot more than I thought I would. So, here I am, back in a pro-4x. I 've owned 4 Titans all together, had a first gen as well. I'm not sure why I've stayed with them for so long. I would guess it's just the fact that I know what I'm going to get with a Titan, aside for packages and options my 2023 performs very similar to my 07. Yes, I know nissan's paint isn't awesome, I know the interior bits are on the cheap side. It's probably not as refined as some of the competitors. But to me it feels and acts like a traditional truck (just more comfortable). I've never had a serious issue with any of them. (didn't keep the diesel for very long, loved the truck but the cummins and transmission scared me, a warranty doesn't mean much if parts aren't available and you get rid of all of your diesel mechanics). I have 500 miles on the new one and so far, it's what I expected and I'm good with that. Another great video man, keep up the good work!

My dad has a 2018 Titan XD Gas Platinum Reserve. His truck developed a ticking noise and I got on him to get it into the Nissan dealer. His truck has 45K. That 5 year 100K warranty saved him big time. 5.6 Engine 2017-2018 have low oil pressure issue in the #7 cylinder and this is common according to the dealer. They had to replace the engine with a new long block. Between parts and labor I think it was over $8K. Took 2 weeks to fix. Nissan only offered a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on it. I figured a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. Other than that its been a decent truck for him. Also he had the 20" chrome wheels replaced under warranty due to the chrome flaking off. He gets 13mpg but he doesn't drive it much and he has BFG ruggedtrail tires on it. This is my dads 2nd titan. 1st one was a 2004 LE crew cab.

I read on some online forum of a Titan owner that put over million miles. 3 secrets: Amsoil oil change every 5k (year round). But any other oil brand synthetic 3k If not towing... Trans/differentials/Radiator/transfer case fluid every 25k If towing/commercial use... Trans/Radiator/Differentials/Transfer Case fluid every 20k (summer) vs 15k (winter due to salt residue). 91 recommended or 87 with fuel additive. Thats it. The truck will go a million miles on that V8 NA engine/transmission no questions asked. Walmart Auto Services can do the services for pretty cheap price.

That's impressive. I believe it! I've had 5 different NISSAN vehicles and they are the easiest vehicles to maintain. As long as you keep up with the routine maintenance schedule the vehicle will run. I plan to keep my Titan for a long time, no plans to get rid of it any time soon.

I have a 2008 Titan with 130k miles I bought brand new. Other than normal wear and tear and some cosmetics I’ve NEVER had an issue with the power train. Hell I’ve never even changed the tranny fluid or done an engine tune up and it still runs solid! Just bought a 2024 pro4X 👍🏼

If I was getting a truck defintely Titan is on the list. New toyota trucks reliability has gone out the window. I own a 93 nissan 300zx Twin Turbo, gx460, Tesla Y, and have owned many older lexus in the past.

I've heard a few issues with the new Tundra and the new engine. I like to keep things simple, and the Titans V8 is as simple as they come, tried and true. I haven't had issues with the Titan V8 engine. You have some solid vehicles! If you get the Titan you gotta let me know. Thanks for the comment.

Im looking between 18-21 year models, since they're the ones in my budget and would love to own and feel the raw v8 power but i too am a MPG person that cares about that. Is 17-18mpg city good or great for that size of a truck and i do come from a 4cyl midsized suv that does 20-21mpg city. I dont plan on hauling anything
@jamarcusjoe
@jamarcusjoe 7 месяцев назад
Personally, I would go with the 2020+ since that was the last refresh and the newest transmission. Either way, you will get a strong V8. I avg 17 mpg in the city and will get 20-22 mpg on the highway with the family and luggage. Which is pretty good for truck standards. I will caveat that I do put premium fuel (93 octane), which gets me those numbers. You gotta let me know if you decide to go with the Titan!

Hey there, I just got my 2023 titan. We took it for a family trip from Phoenix Arizona to Hollowman Airforce base. Round trip about 1000miles. I feel that there is a slight vibration and it bounces Is that normal.
@jamarcusjoe
@jamarcusjoe 8 месяцев назад
Good ol' Holloman AFB. I've been there once or twice during my career. Ha. Im not sure of the vibration. I will say that when I first got my truck, it was pulling to the right pretty good which caused vibration above 60 mph. I took it to the dealership, and they fixed everything. They told me that if there were any issues with the truck in the first 12 mos/12K miles, they had to fix it. I was unaware of that, but Im glad they did. It rode so much smother afterward. As for the bounciness, I would ask the dealership if that's normal. The Pro-4X models tend to have a "softer" suspension IMO. I hope you are able to resolve the issues.

I got a 2021 titan s crew cab in dec only 18k miles on it basically new.. had no clue about trim levels or anything else... my advice if your getting a titan go for the XD seems all the parts/aftermarket stuff was made for the XD .. getting parts/aftermarket for S model is pretty dang hard. On the positive side as the OP video poster mentions since I have a basic S model I get the most towing capacity and longer vehicle life span as there are less electronics to fail less bulbs to change etc.. .overall will get more life from the vehicle as less moving parts in general. My choices was this 2021 titan s which I got that had 18k miles on it or a 2017 XD with like 45k miles on it.. had I known anything about trim levels I would have taken the 2017 XD with 45k on it...not knowing anything about trim levels at the time I took the one with 18k miles on it that was leased to 1 person for a year. At the end of the day .. I still got a very nice truck with 18k miles on it though.. so ... : ) I love driving my truck it just feels nice.. I also got offered to fix my product recall notice.. I declined them at the time.. its the airbag recall.. I would rather them leave a working truck alone and working.. I have heard some stories about dealerships messing up people's vechiles when they do free work because if nothing else they simply have poorer work habits as they don't care since its free. You having steering issues after your recall work just says to me I def should make sure the dealership that does it is known to only do quality work. If there are any cons it would be parts for basic models is very limited.

All that matters is that you love driving your truck. I agree with your points, especially getting the XD. If I could do it all over again, I would get the XD. But I'm sticking with my Titan for the long haul since I have my non-XD. Regarding your point about the S being simple, Titan overall is as simple as it comes compared to other truck brands. With that, we will outlast the competition. I hope your Titan treats you well. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you for the insight when towing a Pathfinder behind you at 7K lb... Towing cars around would be the main reason I am buying a truck. 12-13MPG at that weight and having an SUV behind you as a wind sail versus a normal car is pretty good mileage!
@jamarcusjoe
@jamarcusjoe 3 месяца назад
My Titan handled towing 7K lbs like a champ! If you plan to use it for towing cars, I would go with the XD model. It's a solid platform for those types of loads. I recently moved again and towed a 4.5K lbs tandem axle trailer, and again, the Titan handled it with ease, even at 75 mph. Thanks for the comment.

I have a 2019 Frontier Pro4x and am thinking of upgrading to the Titan. I want to like the F150 but have heard too many horror stories about it breaking down. IMO, the Titan is the most underrated truck on the market.

There are so many good truck options, including the F-150. I have heard horror stories about almost all the brands, including the Titan. I've been fortunate not to run into any significant issues with my Titan. I still love driving it. It's definitely an underrated truck. Have you upgraded? If so, let me know if you did.
