I receive scam phone calls every day. While my improv skills are weak, I try to waste their time anyway.
If you can't beat them, confused them. I started making up completely unrelated responses when it became clear he wasn't listening to me. I wondered if he'd accept them as valid. He almost did, at first, and then he just rebooted.
