chowder125 It stopped the outsourcing of those glamorous telemarketing jobs to India, seriously. No matter what it is, even legitimate credit card companies, they know that when their accent is heard on the phone, most people will think, "SCAM!"
My technique is to ask them to hold while I run inside to get my card. I've learned that their max time allowed is 5 minutes. By keeping them waiting, you cost them money. And, they won't call you back for at least 30 days.
These indian phone scamming companies make a average 10 million or so a month saw a documentary about it thats why they dont get raided because they can buy thier way out of it.
I disagree. We should trace these calls and then simply dispatch a drone to the call's place of origin! How great would it be to hear 5 Minutes into a call *BOOM* and the connection drops!

Aside from the fact that the guy is a scammer, he is also one hell of a terrible call center agent. If you get pissy that fast in a call center good luck when you have your first 80 year old + customer who wants to talk about their neighbour's grandson's cousin's mama's dog's puppies.
He does tho, the scammer isnt doing it from his house. Hes probably in a call center in india with like 10 other people all scamming with a boss directing them and giving them numbers.
Dan Bird after my mum lost my sister we got a call like this and mum said "I can't I'm dealing with family issues" and hung up. He then called everyday sometimes over 7 times a day for months. My mum couldn't handle this and losing a child at the same time so my nan called Telstra up (turns out he was working for a proper business) and got him fired.
People think it doesn't matter and is funny. There are people who fall for these scams or are like your mum and are abused by them. I think this is happening to my Mom because she complained to them that she had been called 100 times when she doesn't even have a computer

Windows XP Muslims don't anything but cause trouble. Scammers simply want money. You can't half understand them. They talk robotic. These scam vids. may be fake but nobody likes scammers! They live in poor countries but scam Americans out of their money.
Marty Stevens ik it's wrong but it's not just in America but in Europe too. There was on video where a British lady out smart one of the Indian scammer by asking for iTunes as tax. However Indians don't really scam rest of the world when some country have currency that's worth nothing. Like Vietnam for examples dongs basically isn't worth anything since they are going through inflation and they don't want to waste their time on that
Windows XP I received a call from a scammer a few years ago. He wanted to sell me literature from Walmart and Home Depot to save me money. He said for $15.00 one time and later $50.00. With Pakistanis, 15 and 50 sound alike. I was leaving and I said o.k. He had my debit number and phone no. When my statement came in, he withdrew $50.00! His toll free number was on the statement. They don't get a REAL job because there aren't any there.
its either India or Pakistan. I wonder from what town. they are discrediting the real hard working Indians. but this is so much fun!! this Is a reminder for us to tell our family members that this has been going on.

You know how many times I have heard 'please consider this your last notice' . Every. freaking. day. I ask them when it's really going to be the last notice, because it's been my last notice for about 5 years.

I as an Indian, and so bloody ashamed, that scammers are ripping off people especially the older folks, of their precious earnings or pension. Thanks a million, no a billion, for wasting their times and shortening their lives. Hope to become a hacker to help people in need. And stop scammers and hackers.
Yes I really want to know if this method works or makes it worse! My Mom gets called by all these credit card/fix your computer etc scammers. She could actually handle doing this to someone if it works
2 ideas. 1) get an airhorn. answer the phone, use it, and hang up. 2) answer the phone, let them talk for about 30 seconds, then scream into the phone and end the call. my friend's mom actually did the second one. it was beautiful.
Well she has told them she is going to call a lawyer etc and they just say go ahead. They don't care that she yells at them and tells them that she doesn't have a computer etc
+OG_ROWIE_1 these ways might sound good but they don't work.. that is why this way is better... they think you are going to cooperate. With Erik's suggestions, they know you are fighting with them.. they will just fight back. My Mom screams at them, says she will call a lawyer etc, it does not help. Back in the modem days, I let my modem answer a crank caller so it would whistle in his ear. He called back with his modem to do it back to me.

I have gotten a good laugh of these scammers being scammed back. There are various ways to piss off a scammer. Boy I would like to pull a trick like that!
