This thought would still be mainly for feel, but also to make it easier to have a precise sensor. Could use a mostly stiff yet somewhat flexible object that has a light sprint on the backend pushing into the load cell, this would allow a smaller/weaker load cell to be used while still having low travel and heavy pedal. All still within what you said about the amount of actual force being imposed onto the load cell is how ever much the spring touching it allows. I would love to see or maybe make a torsion style.

Thanks for this. I’ve just got some load cell pedals and there’s not much out there to guide you on setup or how they “should” feel.

Thanks Tony, so no matter what, all you're doing is transmitting force to the pedal? All the load cells do is change how much travel is in the pedal (i.e how far your foot moves)?

Yeah so no matter the spring or elastomers in the pedal the load cell measures the pressure or weight on the pedal. The travel of the pedal is affected by the spring or elastomers. This is the advance of load cell pedals, your leg/muscles are better at remembering the pressure and not distance

Very well done! Whats your preference?

I have a really hard short pedal, 2 reason. 1 it's harder to get to 100% so less chance of locking the brakes. And I find it easier to modulate to brake while braking. So if I feel a lockup I can release just a little. For me to push to 100% I really push my body back into the seat.

@@Tdi99 but what about cars that have ABS like gt3? If you can't/it's very difficult to fully push to 100% won't you lose time at the start of the braking zone?

ABS is both good and bad. Technically abs reduced your braking as it stops the wheel from locking but it releases the brakes to do this. The car will be better than a human to correct a locking tyre, so with abs cars I would short throw the pedal in iracing, so in the options I would only press my pedal to 90% and then release and then click OK. That way iracing will think my 90% is 100% in game. You will also click the option in the bottom left corner to only use these setting with this car.

Do you make your load cell harder for certain racecars?

No I leave mine as it is, it's easier to be more confident with a pedal if it stays the same!
