Oh my gosh, the books and the book covers look so pretty, quite a few books I remember from English Lit Classes, We read Don Quixote in Spanish, in 11th grade Spanish and had to discuss in Spanish as well, when I got pulled out in my Senior year, to teach 8th grade Spanish, I borrowed that book, and I used in that class, the kids had so much fun..of course for that class we read in Spanish but discussed in English. I think Rick has a leather bound copy of Moby Dick downstairs, I might have to read it one day.
These covers are stunning that it’s so hard to choose!😂 I really liked Persuasion, The Woman in White and Sense and Sensibility. I’d love to know how they make the final decision which motif to centre on for the cover 😊📚
They are so beautiful! If I have to choose 2 of my favorite covers, I will say A Christmas Carol and other Christmas Writings (love the snowflakes!) and Jane Eyre :)
they look beautiful on your shelf all lined up like that! i gave my one copy away after i found it difficult to actually read the book and so i got a different edition. i think it's because my copy was glued and not sewn pages so i just felt like i was unsuccessfully wrestling with propping it open. sorry for my unpopular opinion!
I think my favorite PCC cover is Brideshead Revisited. But I’m loving the new colors of the more recent releases! Love 1984 💛. I think the War of the Worlds cover is the only one with two different paint colors which is interesting. Wonder if they will do that again or if that was a one and done experiment.
My favourite cover is Dorian Grey. Love the peacock feathers. I remember seeing it before (I think on your Channel) and wondering why it had peacock feathers, but now it hit me that it's the beauty and pride of the peacock, symbolic of Dorian... is that your thought on it as well or do you think it means something else? I don't remember any actual peacocks in the story, but maybe there is?
You are absolutely correct! No peacocks in the story but the symbol of pride! There are a couple of the covers I have read the book but still not positive what they fully mean. Like Mayor of Casterbridge- all interesting and pretty!
