Good video! Found this while trying to see what I should name my own bass aquarium "how to" video, which should go up tonight. However, an aquarium of this size can only be temporary housing. A growing bass needs a drastically larger tank. Secondly, putting the tank against a window can lead to excessive algae growth, which really makes cleaning a pain, as well as increases the frequency of cleanings needed to maintain an aesthetically-pleasing display.

Some mistakes. 1. Feed it fish from the lake where it came from that way when you release it , it will still know how to hunt those fish. 2. Live plants are better for the tank since they process the fish waste and give off oxygen. 3. Feeder goldfish have no nutritional value since they are fed low quality fish flakes and are kept with 500 other goldfish to compete for that food.

Would a 4 ft 75 gallon tank work for a 2-3 pound bass with a bluegill and a sunny I feel like they all seem happy with their space the sunny and bluegill like to hide in the plants and the bass likes to swim all around the tank, I was just wondering what I had works and I want to hear your suggestions, thanks!

I know this is beating a dead horse, but you definitely need to: Let the tank cycle properly before adding fish Get a larger tank (75g would even be a bit small) Don't release it back to the wild The guy that suggested a 125 is probably right on with how much space they'd need too as well as some cover like driftwood and maybe some natural plants.

First of all, good idea with a bass! bass, bluegill, perch, catfish are all good options... they aren't sissy fish like trout, they are tough... sissies like trout die if you poke them... pickerels are super tough, and will eat anything, but are TOO big... Then, get a bigger tank! :D I have two catfish from a river in my 55 gallon tank. One is called HelloKitty the other is called Hellcat. Kitty is 1.75 inches long, and Cat is 2 inches.

you can get little mosquito fish or minnows and others types of food for the bass at pond and lakes with a net with little holes that way you don't have to waste money that's what I did to feed my bass

You want sand or small rocks so the can hid and the half with tall under water tank

as a former aquarist i can only say you should approach this like any other aquarium set up. get a decent gravel bed first off and get some biological activity going in there. second, move this away from the window. finally, get a bigger tank or filll that one up.

I want me a game fish yet I would just get me a bluegill, trout or pike from a place that stocks them in private ponds. pretty much because they're already raised on pellet fish food.

That's awesome that you're feeding him feeder fish & stuff! Just like a piranha! One thing you forgot to mention is the importance of weekly water changes. Also that el cheapo aqua tech walmart filter doesn't have biological filtration nor does that shallow gravel bed. You really should get some Stress Coat to remove chlorine/replace his slime coat, some Stress Zyme to add beneficial bacteria and get some Ammo Lock to detoxify the inevitable high levels of ammonia that are sure to spike from having a high waste producing fish in a non-cycled tank. On a side note if you don't move your tank away from that window you'll be scrubbing algae off the glass every other week. Good luck.......you're gonna need it! lol. Not to be a dick but just release him and go buy a piranha, an Oscar or a Jack Dempsey Cichlid to feed goldfish to. They only cost about $15 for a baby.

You should add places for the fish to hide, fish are happier when they can hide, if you don't they may get so stressed out that they die or they will stop eating

at least a fifty gallon tank or more. and you might want to put a brick on the lid. my dad almost had his jump out on the floor by knocking the lid open.
