One of my pigs died recently leaving the other alone. He's too small to harvest so I devise a plan to return him to his farm of origin for a credit. We also move the chickens into the greenhouse for the winter.

No “warning shot” for winter in Spokane either. I think when hens are “sent to the farm” it is generally a lot less pleasant than Dance Partner’s chickens experienced.
Dan do you have issues with predators getting into greenhouse and attacking the girls? I’m in boise and I keep mine under lock and key as there are many types of predators down here. I also have barred rocks and lavender orpintons. Eggs have slowed in winter even though snow is light
