So glad you are back. The last time I had a dish like this was the last time my grandpa cooked for me, around 1995 I'd have to guess. Brings a tear to my eye seeing you make this, he was a very special man to me. Thank you!
Dzień dobry! Brazilian guy here. I didn't have the opportunity to taste this breakfast when I lived in Wrocław. Seems super delicious like the other dishes in Poland. Now I can't wait to go to Poland again.
Greetings Polish friend! I buy mine from the Polish grocery in a nearbyish city. It's a 45 minute drive there but it's worth it. I buy for the month, if I'm low on cash I'm still walking out with my kielbasa, mayonnaise, mustard and rye bread.
Welcome back Reminded me of my father making this for my sister and I as children. He used smoked bacon though, as Polish sausage wasn't easily available all those years ago.
When I was in Iraq, o was stationed with the Polish troops. They would often have Vodka & black bread for breakfast... as long as they were off for the day. A combination of your breakfast and theirs sounds like a winner. Unfortunately, I am not 20 yrs old anymore so
My dad use to make that. Well everything except the zuchinni he didn't like that. But we got everything else. Kielbasa was always a treat for us so if there was any leftover and the cat didn't steal it, it was breakfast. Now I have it as much as I can.
Pickled beets!! My Polish grandparents immigrated to Michigan 120 yrs ago. My dad always served beets with the Sunday bkfst. And fried potatoes and kielbasa! Yum!
I love pickled beets. They are so good. I also remember having fried kielbasa in a cast iron pan, long ago. This food is great. I have a mixed Slavic ancestry, which includes Polish and Ukrainan, and the food is great. My dad's parents, and three of his older siblings came to Canada, from Galicia, by the Polish/Ukrainan border, in the mid 1920s. My maternal grandfather came to the USA from Poland, in 1914, before he went to Canada. My maternal grandmother was born in Canada, to parents who were from Czechoslovakia, and who came to New York City, before they went to Canada, in the very early 1900s. I'd like to visit the USA for longer, to explore the food in different cities. I was there briefly, on a connecting flight to Chicago, a decade ago. Cheers!
@@dwaynewladyka577 What a history with such varied origins! TFS. We come from strong, handsome, and smart people. Lucky we ended up in America. We love our Canadian cousins, esp the Poles. Cheers!
Welcome back. It was a nice surprise coming home to a simple but tasty polish recipe. I cant wait for the next ones. All the best to you and Mrs. Chef.
Have you heard about the breweries which have been recreating the (previously lost) Polish wheat beer Grodziskie? It was a traditional style that stopped being brewed commercially in 1993, but Polish homebrewers continued making it, and about ten years ago it came to the attention of several in the US as well; over the past few years a number of craft breweries have revived it. The Beer Judge Certification Program has had a formal definition of the style since 2015, though most brewers prefer to use those guidelines as a starting point rather than a goal.
Super jedzonko!
So glad you're back with another great recipe! I've been making your polish golumpki for a few years now. I will never go to another recipe, its simply the best! 🥰
That breakfast looks so good. I do like fried kielbasa very much. All those great flavors look good with the eggs. Pickled beets are awesome. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️ 🇵🇱
I'm English... Very very English.... But because of that I appreciate our heritage and I openly *welcome* our foreign influences!! I like nothing more than a full English breakfast with a couple of Samosas, Bhajis, Mushroom and Sourkraut Pierogis and some fried kielbasa or plain kabanos on the side 🤤🤤🤤🤤 oh yeah! That's some damned good eating right there!
@@ThePolishChef You should make more videos... You have a talent for it 👍👍 Maybe do a nice Borscht and sour dough rye bread 🤤🤤 I know you and your wife both have the skill to do that with what I've seen!!!
Hello Chef. I’ve been looking for the Polish way to make apple sauce but can not find a video. Would you consider making one? I will post it to my social media and like. Everyone talks about apple sauce with pierogi but no one shows how it is made in Poland.
Music is Prząśniczka by Polish composer, Stanisław Moniuszko (1819 - 1872). Originally written for piano and voice. Arranged and performed by Susan Sady.
A long time ago, my mom took me from Canada to south east Poland to the small village she was from. I was 15. I'm 40 now, and I still dream about the amazing food I had there, including breakfasts like these. Polish food feeds my soul!
