Just fell over your video by coincidence. I really appreciate your honesty and clear view on the business and your position in it. Keep on, man! But would advise you the LabGruppen PLM 20000 as a 2in4 Dolby Lake Processing amp which replaces your whole amp city by one piece. Guess what: I sell 4 of them. ;) But indeed, Check the used market. Light weighted and an investment for the next 20years. Go ahead, best wishes from a brother from Germany.

Hey John, just wanted to say when rigging your PA try not to rig the slings in a manor that pulls the truss apart (hoist sling on top bar, PA sling on bottom). This weakens the truss. The PA sling should be choked on the top bar and the hoist sling choked on the bottom.

I let them Know, That almost Cover the cost of my Snakes(copper) Sub Snakes , Mic Cables... They Look at me Like I am LYING to them .. Then They Show Me Pictures of the PEAVEY System they are Running at 2 Ohms . So they can Get all of the Power out of it they can . But Keep Blowing Up speakers and amps ...

If you ever want to improve your ability, you should check out DAS Event 208 line arrays they are powered no need for amps you can run 8 boxes per 20 amp breaker. I used to have a few vrxs for side fill and the Event 208s blown them out of the water. If you ever have questions about anything or need advice let me know I work for one of the largest production companies in the US, and I'm always willing to share knowledge.

I've always wanted subs like that in a home theater build. I'd probably do rear projection & put that huge box behind the projector screen & build 2 corner [L+R] speaker towers to cover the corners... now let's see, all I need now is the money to afford it 🤔😂😭😭😭

Awesome video. Very informative. I've known many smaller companies that have made a good living off these bad boys. They may not throw that far, but definitely can get the job done for the smaller gigs. They were the gateway to bigger things for us. And for those who don't want to get too big, they're just fine to make a good living with.

This system is Based off of what I have and Use . Mine is a Little bit more because I carry 80 Mics with my System . All Mic Stands are K&M . They Last . All Copper Cables were Priced through , www.Audiopile.net as were all the Cases ... I do Around 250 to 300 events a year .. They Pay between $ 1250.00 to $ 3500.00 a Night .

Hey John; there seems to be more consumer friendly (mid level) line array boxes being marketed lately such as QSC's KLA 12's; the Mackie's DRM series just came out recently. What do you think about powered speakers for front of house vs. what you own in the passive version of the JBL VRX932LA's? Example the VRX932LAP vs JBL VRX932LA. Many of these reputable manufacturers such as QSC, JBL and Mackie claim their onboard (powered) speakers provide 1,000 W or even 2,000 W and by having the onboard amp eliminates a rack of amps and better matches the speaker to the amplifier.....your though???

Power is expensive? Get some Lab FP10000/ 14000 clones from Gisen or Sanway. They run stable if you dont use them on 2 ohms, they deliver a huge amout of power, are cheap and they are easy to repair cause you just have to replace the boards. Also your rack is a lot lighter :) Greetings from germany, great setup!

Well, as far as cost is concerned, that really depends on what brand of speakers you’re going with and what type of soundboard you’re going with as for DJ your cost are gonna be minimal compared to what we just spent on live sounds for example, most people go with JBL, which is good stuff but if you’ve heard of LA acousticsyou gonna be paying some money to pay what model you get just for example we just spent over $100,000 just on speakers and actually more than 200,000 on speakers and a soundboards straight from Germany professionally built

Good video, your information was clear to let others know, if you want to get into this business spend a lot💰... on point. What you have is the best PA SYSTEM, research more info about PA SYSTEM now days, non big name brand. To tell you the truth, that amount 💰you spend for a decent Line array, you could get 16x16 line array with package, amp, mixer, rack, and cables. The best thing about those companies, doing a sound test before purchase the goods. You will be suprise 💯% legit

Harold Christian Great video John, I have a seven pc. band in Va. Beach Va. area. I'm the sax player and own All of the sound equipment, you're right about easy to get into but hard to get out. What started out as a basic P.A. setup has grown to about half of your price. I have an passive JBL Speaker setup with crown amps and a powered JBL SRX 800 Series speaker setup with a Soundcraft digital mixer. And now thinking about 4 of the JBL VRX 932 lap's. Covid 19 has slowed us All down a bit. But man enjoyed All of your videos and will be contacting you soon, I also have contacted D.J. Rick Webb on speaker advice. Proud of you man keep on doing your thing.

Nice rig:). I`ve been a big fan of the VRX for many years. You made a wise choice to power them externally. I find the internally Crown powered VRX`s lacking.

Any recommendations on much higher, more “audiophile grade” monitors and related support at least quality complementing to Schertler and Jackson Ampworks ? JBL and QSC doesn’t do it for what we’re looking for.

Howdy from Houston brother, I’ve been in the live sound touring and corporate business since 1987; congratulations , you have a , very clean ,organized and professional company, very well put together, better than many bigger, so called “professional” companies out there, I liked in particular the cable management behind the amp rack, that’s how I do it, keep up the good work and have a productive 2019

Very well done thank you for putting all this together, I have an opportunity to purchase a room full of sound stage equipment, which includes lighting, speakers, small stage with all the aluminum overhead trusses, similar to everything that was in your video and wanted to know if buying used equipment like this is easy to re-sell, thanks and thanks again for the video, best, John?

Loved the video dude, a question are you familiar with the Mackie DRM 12a array, I'm planning on growing, and I've heard that they're pretty good speakers. I'd love to hear what you think.

The EV CP series amplifiers are way better than the Crown XTI series, the XTI6000 is a much better amplifier than the rest of the frankly ok'ish XTI series but EV's CP series are better than the XTI from Crown that's a fact. Your Driverack 360 is a good processor it has good converters and RMS limiting which is essential for proper speaker protection. Although now being 2020 a better option would be an XTA DP426 they're miles above the Driverack, MUCH better sound quality, much better RMS limiting, top quality peak limiting and they also have built in voltage limiting too which provides the ultimate speaker protection. The only problem is no presets for speaker cabs, but the Driverack is the best of the what i'd call the dj sound system processors and the XTA is a totally professional processor which were used in clubs and at music festivals. I say were, nowadays a lot of festivals use amps which are amazingly expensive from companies such as Powersoft which have top quality built in processors. A lot of clubs and festivals though still use non DSP amps and use Dolby Lake processing which is widely considered the best money can buy. I see you have what looks to be VRX932 cabs, they're loud but I never liked the sound quality because they didn't have very good midrange or lower midrange detail. The point source JBL SRX835 cabs are far better sounding although not quite so loud.

VRXs are great if you’re wanting more JBL in the future they make for some great front fill on a 88 or VTX-25 2 rig

EV was never known for power amps....they are more of a speaker company....crown macro tech is the best in the business for touring amps....if you want the light weight then go with QSC...they are same price or cheaper.....good choice on the speakers 👍

Let me say this to you about that granite I wouldn't try to use that on the outside gig as far as front of house but I darn sure would use it on stage as far as runners-up Mothman everybody calls me to Wacky one cuz I put some empty or full as on stage one night I ain't got no problem we're throwing them suckers on stage I'll put some MTL 4 Subs on stage now I took a community design I'm quite sure you don't even know what I'm talkin about but can you do community has a box of hit 415 them and it look like a giant get lol I'm laughing about this because we were running for gigs and we need it a small system for a stage when they so instead it was running out and going to buy one I copied two boxes of the Erie Community boxes that we had infor and for MTL for boxes graunstadt funny thing was about this whole thing Omni venue they wanted everything on stage witches I didn't care but it was small powerful and compact turned out pretty funny cuz they were throwing such a long distance they actually singing about 3 blocks clear and they weren't in and they weren't being pushed and that was for 15s at 500 watt drivers I ran the boxes at 8 ohms I'll let you figure out how I did that I'll say this to anybody that's looking to get into the industry of running PRO Sound public-address you a DJ if you do not understand ohms you going to burn up a lot of s*** you have to understand ohms and how to wire your drivers to that effect I personally know some intricate ways of wiring and that's why I'm saying what I'm saying you have to know ohms that's class 101 some apps you cannot run no more than two boxes but those two boxes may only can be at an omen peaden's of 8 216 on boxes with drop to 8 on boxes with drop to 4 4 on boxes will drop the two to owns I think it's 1 or 1/2 Pro Audio you shouldn't be running nothing no less than 4 Ohms most Pro Audio amps can only drop the form stable keep in mind you're running me stamps 8 hours a day or longer out outside it's even more stress does you got Heat and your apps are working so keep in mind you got to know how to wire drivers up to get the right ohms that you're looking for
