I’m a regular guy. Didn’t go to Berkeley to learn sound, don’t have any API grad friends to show me the tricks. What I know I had to learn on the fly so I really appreciate your video that teaches on regular guy terms. Will be recommending your video to many. Thanks!
Excellent video! I'm an electrician, and everything was up to code. Plus you explained each step in an easy, and accurate manner. Keep up the good (safe) work!
Man, thanks for this video. You sound like "THE" guy I have been looking for since a while. I have some equipment, smaller than whatever you describe here but maybe you can help me, please if you a bit of time to spare. I have recently acquired to following equipment for private parties: - 8x Alto TS415 - 2500W peak/1250RMS - 2x Alto TS408 - 2000W peak/1000RMS - 4x Vonyx SWP15 - 800W peak/probably half RMS - 2x Alto TS18s- 2500W peak/1250RMS - 2x Mac Mah AS118s - Unsure but like the TS18S So my question is, can I plug all this on a couple of country side house power socket? Or will I set the entire place on fire? What do I need to know? I am in France so electrical outlets here are either 16 or 32A, I am most likely 16A on a single circuit I think Any advise is welcome or you can share some useful links I all take them as well. I would really, really appreciate your feedback bro!
Just found my new mentor. I’m in Ohio. I own my own lawn care business, and work part time at the arena and I see guys setting up the stage and lights and music. I am going to start my own business here in Ohio been buying light fixtures/and a Dmx..
Turbo Sound iq12 is one of the best, nice, powerful and cheap loudspeakers on the market. clark Teknik does wonders with this column. it is strong, it almost reaches the JBL srx 812. at this price it is the only good choice. If you want something better, double the price. Jbl srx, Ev Etx.
X32's are a good bet. Even if it has a fault you can easily get parts for repairs and videos to walk you through it. I have an XR18 as I have a fairly small set up and not a massive budget.
I've got everything except a PA; Mixer, mics, stands, cables, projector, cameras etc etc. I'm thinking of getting a PA package thats a pair of active 12 inch tops and a 15 inch active sub, for around 1k. That should do me for most events (as I'll mainly do corporate gigs and weddings)
I work in a venue and am looking at system design to make things more user friendly and all round better experience. I am planning on installing an XR18 in 2 of the main event spaces, as the mixer, I would then mount a Tablet on the wall with Bitfocus Companion on it as buttons for basic control (of both sound system and projector). What I need is a way to send feeds to all the different rooms, but there isn't much budget cause it's a church (hence why I'm pricing XR18's and not X32 Racks), I was planning on using P16's with small cheap speakers, but this might be a better quality option to go for. I would probably need 4 of these to be in each of the small rooms, then I would use a P16 to send to the main rooms.
We ran msl, ev, crown - Yamaha and Mackie consoles when I was stage audio director going into staging with USAF tops in blue back in '96 I ran a private system in Ramstein Germany (Laundshul and K town) and then back in the states in North Carolina (fayettenam) Fayetteville first morning fest at the speedway and bands at breakers billiards and other clubs By far, that young man is a outstanding pro rig that's for any working musician(s) (if, they can pay for that service....) I ran much lesser than that for house audio in club ish places for Gitane Dimone, Lounge Fly and DSI Your system is spot on and a great working rig, don't under sell it Amazing what one can do with a Mackie consoles, carvin cabs and some sm57's Kudos my young brother God bless you and awesome to see such enthusiasm, excellent detail oriented and professionalism
I would love to learn this, and purchased a Hercules to learn, am a dj and frequently do weddings, but I am deaf in one ear, so headphones won’t workany suggestions would be appreciated
nice video...... i say look at jbl prx800 series also :). i own a set for 8 years now and they still rockin :). for a little more, srx828 and two 815's costs about 5 k........ i have heard the ekx's..... definitely not as clear and musical as the jbl boxes.... vocals thru jbl just sound better....in my opinion :)
that's the problem if you keep on getting your setup bigger and having more crew to help you on those gears, unlike if you just stay on Basic it can be safe and less stress.
