I am also autistic i very much relate to theos outsider robot experience, i spent much of my life on the other side of a pane of glass "looking in" seperate from my body and everyone else. i never understood how to navigate the female social hierachys that are needed to make friends as a girl and understand how to interact. I was also not aware/interested in clothes etc that girls generally start to take an interest in and so i really struggled to fit in and did not recognise myself as a female until i went through puberty, about 15/16, by my 20s I was indifferent to my sex in a more comfortable way. I personally think that alot of autistic folks like to categorize and be analytical to understand the world around them and to express themselves through information they've learnt, that (and their self/social issues) is why they are so susceptible to gender ideology. Thankfully i am in my 30s and this wasnt around when i was young because i have no doubt i would have done something drastic. I am most certainly a woman, just a bit awkward and non- conventional and I have grown into it quite nicely. All the best to theo, you are lovely just as you are, how you feel will change and if terms help you understand or express that then fair enough, just allow yourself the room and possibility to continue to change and evolve because that is a part of the journey of life x it will get easier to navigate I promise!

Im not autistic but diagnosed ADHD and I felt the same way you describe. I definitely didn’t see myself in the girls/women around me and it wasn’t until I was approx 25 that things began settling (I also began getting therapy but this topic never came up). I’m older now and definitely a woman! Haha just not a conventional one, either. I definitely would’ve believed the currently gender ideology stuff if it were around when I was younger and thought that I was meant to be a boy. Thank god that didn’t happen.

The term Gender originated from the contraction of "Sexual Gender", where this term meant "Male or Female", and was shortened to Gender because the term Sex was a Rude term in polite society. The term Gender comes from the French "Genre" meaning Type or Kind. We still use Genre to categorise types of movies, music and books.
@marcusrosales3344
@marcusrosales3344 5 месяцев назад
Even if we reference two spirit individuals, the agreement was on a tribal level, not individual! Society doesn't recognize "ze" as valid... Especially because they can't tell us what a woman is in the first place and why a new distinct meaningless term is necessary past that... Gender does have a different connotation than sex however. Simply look at the gender roles in the Yananomi people vs the Japanese. Yes, there are binary gender roles in both, yet they play them differently; hence, gender is a useful concept in Anthropology. The left just muddied up the water making all related terms meaningless so they can gaslight people. I'm a physics PhD and not a behavioral scientist too. I honestly think I can explain this stuff better than most of them. Not saying you didn't already know all this (or agree...), but my 2 cents on why their idea of gender expression is stupid past the blatantly obvious stuff
@woodsfamily1100
@woodsfamily1100 5 месяцев назад
@@marcusrosales3344 Gender roles are themselves derived from Biological Sex, as the local social interpretation of how best to apply the male and female proclivities to the various functions in society and in the household. Gender roles are Sex-based roles therefore and not evidence for the difference between Sex and Gender. Sex and Gender are the same.
@marcusrosales3344

@woodsfamily1100 You clearly didn't listen or get what I said... Again, gender has to do with HOW those roles are played. I literally mentioned binary gender roles in two societies. Yes, hormones and sex matter in behavior... Because there is still the provider and the caretaker. They are played differently, which is what gender refers to in Anthropology, it's jargon. I really hope you know the difference between jargon and colloquiallism... That was part of what I said, but it went over your head

So many good logical points and expressed so articulately. I also wondered about how one could identify whether they “feel” like a woman or man, or anything in between. What are the markers and why does self-identification take precedence over the previously well established objective markers. Like you, I also noticed and wondered about the narcissism this drives and also certain ethical expectations of adults, which adult lgbtq+ seem to want to be exempt from. Things like personal responsibility, sensibility when interacting with the rest of society, generosity and protectiveness towards women and children - who until now were deemed more vulnerable and needing hard boundaries. We were all raised to consider them, whether you are trans or not, grew up trans or not, so why do they all fall on their head the moment you change how you identify. Also not resorting to emotional coercion, or needing to be compensated for past suffering or presumed victimhood (based on this unfounded assumption that no suffering is worse than being born into the wrong body). Subscribed and can’t wait to hear more from you

Gender is not a social construct. It is the manifestation of your biological sex. Diluting it to something represented by the clothes you wear is pretty superficial. People who suffer gender dysphoria (look it up in DSM 5) have a mismatch between their sex and gender. This is exceptionally rare. Trans-activitists are not gender dysphoric, as they seem incredibly comfortable in the body they inhabit. They seem to think that gender is a social expression, reflected by clothes and make-up. That's not gender dysphoria - that's attention seeking, wanting to be different, wanting to belong to an exclusive club - the non-binary, gender neutral club - the new age goth!

This is absolutely flawless! I found the discussion on identifying victimhood and raising tyrants, extremely fascinating and so true. Its happening before our eye, anyone who says "No", to such ideology or disagrees with the person is branded a "bigot"... this is what our children/young people are being taught and are affirmed by adults with a saviour complex, victim mentality who are living a lie. It's extremely toxic and dangerous for children.

Intersex is not a category separate from male or female. An intersex person is categorically a biological male or female who’s reproductive function is to produce sperm or ova. They simply have ambiguous or incongruent secondary sex characteristics and can have a-typical configurations of XY chromosomes. They are still one sex or the other, it’s just variably difficult to discern at a glance.

I agree that male/female sex dichotomy is the primary root of this, but I think we should be careful about tying it to "function". If tied to function, then it could all hinge on health conditions and ability to reproduce, which is problematic because sterility and infertility rates are much higher than rates of intersex or gender dysphoria. Maybe "anatomic design" or "majority physiological characteristics" would be better than "function".
@Arran1994
@Arran1994 4 месяца назад
@@Patrick-qz6tn The definition of male or female at the most fundamental level is defined by whether their biology is aligned with the function of producing sperm or ova. Everything else, including secondary sex characteristics and even chromosomes, are simply pointers to the reproductive function, and are inherently less reliable predictors of sex-though still very reliable. This doesn’t exclude those who have dysfunctional reproductive function. A male or female with dysfunctional reproductive function still have biology that is aligned with either function. The actual ability of the individual to reproduce is irrelevant.
@Arran1994
@Arran1994 4 месяца назад
@@Patrick-qz6tn I think you had the right idea with the term “anatomic design” though, because what I am essentially saying is that their anatomic design is aligned with a male or female function. Whether or not their reproductive anatomy is actually functional or not it is still aligned with the function of producing sperm or ova. This is *the* most fundamental and reliable definition of sex that we have.

One thing you're missing around the 0:14:00 mark... Yes there are sex-based stereotypes, but there are gender-based stereotypes as well (eg women wearing dresses has nothing to do with sex. Pink has nothing to do with sex. We societally associate these with one gender or the other in our society. The proof for this is that they can be different depending on the culture. If they were purely sex-based (like physical traits) they would be the same across all cultures. This is the point at which your view deviates from mine. You fail to recognize that someone's gender is a socially created set of traits (both gender and sex-based traits). I'm not a proponent of Self-ID. I think that the way someone identifies is one of those traits. But what we add a society consider to be a 'woman' is someone with more of those sex and gender traits we associate with woman.

Your point about how someone feels about their gender depends on how they define that gender. I'm gen X and the way we were progressive about gender was to expand or eliminate the boxes altogether. If one is born male but likes pink or dresses or dolls or whatever our way of thinking was to say its okay for boys to like those things, though breaking gender norms was more common with girls. This way of thinking about gender seems to me to want to put everyone back in boxes, only make more of them. If it wasn't for trans surgery or medication for children I'm not sure I could objectively say one way is better or worse than the other. What I can say though is that to the extent its true that these paradigms are socially constructed I prefer the older way of expanding the boxes.

I’d like to start by saying that I don’t believe that you can be transgender and that I’m sorry to those that I offend, but I would also like to say that wether you identify as transgender or not you deserve love and no one should prevent you from being loved. Additionally, I would not want to be in your shoes where idiots like me talk about your life like your not real. It would suck. I would hate if people had debates about something I’m going through and especially when the debates are usually antagonistic. So warning to transgender people that this is offensive. Anyway, I agree with a lot of the stuff you say (which doesn’t sound great given the whole offensive thing but it’s unavoidable in debate of is-or-isn’t-isms). One thing that stood out was pink and blue. In my opinion they aren’t sexual based stereotypes. Those colour’s relationships with sex has changed through history (take Kings of Britain for example, we’ll certainly their relationship with red, and also pink came out of the holocaust a bit too as it was apparently used to brand gay men, but I’m not sure to what extent this was socioculturally influential though) and this was all recently enough that their associations aren’t biological but sociocultural. Could be wrong. Anyway, more research needed, retrospectively, just like everything I’m about to say which should be taken with a pile of salt because I am NOT an expert. Nonetheless, I think that despite being a proponent for individual liberty you are concerned by the pay off of AMAB and AFAB symbolism for society. I hear that you say AMAB and AFAB are ideologically progressive and individually liberating but potentially harmful to young people, so you look for utilitarianism and transphobia is necessary benevolence to potentially, hypothetically and inflammatorily, epidemical gender-therapy induced harm. Alternatively, one person might say to that statement that actually transphobia is the epidemic, which it could be. Regardless, I think you do champion individual liberty but are concerned about the institutionalisation of trans inclusive policies because they can damage children’s development which is evolutionary and not designed to live along side puberty blockers, that were developed last century, and that, in the first place, children are unable to consent to yet; surgery and puberty blockers especially. I agree with all this too, but, reflectively, whether it is an affront to individual liberty I don’t know, maybe, yet many individual liberties are only legal when neurodevelopment is sufficient enough to have them. So it could not be an affront too. The topic is, ostensibly, very easily solved by pronouns, hormones, and surgery and uneasily solved without them, or with therapy instead or maybe even with electroconvulsive therapy (which in hindsight would feel like an affront upon individual liberty if enforced or if it were to imply that something should be fixed). Unhelpfully, it is clearly much harder to resolve gender dysmorphia through therapy- the liberating somewhat transphobic option to gender dysmorphia which emphasises how childhood trauma can predispose transgender psychology and accordingly proper navigation post trauma potentially rectify (presuming the psychology began that in an environmental way). Either way the bifurcated therapeutic pathways represent the most important question about this topic; if gender is or is not the same as sex and so your answer to that question becomes paramount. As an aside, solutions like leaving things until the child becomes an adult are redundant to me because biologically anatomical characteristics have already been established by that age so in that instance the issue of gender rectification becomes an entirely superficial issue. In essence, their outside reflects their psychology but not other things like neurophysiology which have irreversibly developed gendered characteristics underscored by their Karyotype by age 18. If people say leave it all to when they’re 18 hormonal alteration at that stage will only make you conform to behavioural sex based stereotypes and not change substantive biological anatomy that can only be affected if the hormones are administered earlier in the life of that person when they are a child. Notably, I think that when the decision to use hormone blockers is given to children they do not usually regret these but I think that a handful do come to regret these. Ultimately, I think that there is gender dysmorphia which can be treated when that person turns 18 by demonstrating their individual liberty to take hormones and undergo surgery that reflect their sex based stereotypes so they feel better and symmetric people, but that this should not happen before then. Hence, I’m transphobic but sympathetic to gender dysmorphia and support medical interventions for people to rectify that. As such, hormone treatments could start earlier at 16 without parental consent and earlier than that with parental and medical consent if the child is developing psychopathological side effects like major depressive disorder or suicidal ideation. Middle ground on this issue is tough because although you sought to empirically reduce the issue it cannot be reduced, as you either believe that transgender exists or not; and then legislative and best practise reform are secondary to that choice. Politically, it is good to see you demonstrate your individual liberty at these events just as the people you interview- both championing your beliefs and concerns about the opposite’s rhetoric. I would also like to say I’m sorry if these comments make you feel discriminated against. As I said I’m not an expert so might change my mind but I like to frustratingly have opinions on everything and this is my current transient opinion on transgenderism and unfortunately it’s transphobic, because I believe medical interventions are dangerous at young ages and worry about our collective indifference to increasingly flippant gendering. I leave you again saying that all people are worthy and decent and if you disagree with me and are transgender please love yourself as you deserve to be loved because you do not deserve less than anyone (just a prohibition of puberty blockers before you turn 16). ALSO, I’m NOT AN EXPERT so tell me where I’m wrong so I can learn and the dangers of puberty blockers might not be as bad as I say so tell me what you think. Thanks for reading. Good luck.

Your video was super articulate and huge props to Theo. I think your title is intentionally contentious for the views but I would agree if you argued it’s benevolence. Another small critique for what was an informative video, especially the pyramid which I could empathise with a lot. Just take my long as comment as evidence. I would like to add another point before I shut up. So not just a ‘small critique’ but anyway, I know you don’t lie and do look for common ground but I would prefer if you radically empathised more by sourcing objective testimonials rather than subjectively prompted testimonials that subserve to your beliefs. It’s your show though so it’s fair enough but I believe you’d get more authentic anecdotes if your questions were less partisan even if they’re bipartisan veiled (even if I agree with you). Your opinions are unwavering.

There isn't anything to unpack. Sex is binary and immutable. No one is born in the wrong body or assigned their sex at birth. There is no such thing as transgender or gender non-binary, and all of the words and phrases that go along with queer theory are bogus. People who are artistic are particularly vulnerable two queer activism, as are young people going through adolescents who are gay.

I beg to differ tbh. I think there’s a lot to unpack and make sense of if we’re to establish unity and common ground. And labels of ‘delusional’ without a thorough attempt to understand don’t help.

@@and_Iwonder "This" being to take part in the interview, or this life style? Choosing this life style is only something one would do if one got a very warped view of gender, sex, and reality as a whole. Saying that a child chooses this is a bit dishonest. It is akin to saying that sex with a child is consensual.
