Best stencil tip I ever learned is use spray adhesive instead of tape to fix it while painting so you get crisp lines. This looks lovely. I’m a Christian, but I hope it doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.
Just wanted to add a comment for those needing a box, here in the United States most places that sell cigars will have a stack of empty cigar boxes. They either give them away free or ask a small charge for them. They are generally not as large as the one in the video but might be a place to get a box.
Lovely! Don't know if anyone else made the same comment, but you could also go around the figure and the moon cycle with a gold or black Sharpie and that will define the edges of your image. 💜
This was so cool to watch, how you painted the box and then watching you decide which items were going in, and packing it all. Really nice video, loved it 😍 ❤️
I’ve had a delightful time watching this. I don’t have a travel alter but I loved seeing all the content of yours. You are so generous with your time and ideas Simon, thank you.
Always love that your share these videos Simon. Great job painting the box for all your sacred altar items, etc and the mini travel decks. . You have the most beautiful sacred and other objects in your home and always display them so beautifully. Namaste! 💕💕💜💜👍👍💜💜💕💕
Such a beautiful creative project and a really inspiring video Simon, I sooo enjoyed watching it. The box was such a great find and a perfect size, just fabulous once you'd painted and decorated it. You have inspired me to make my own. I usually travel by train so mine would have to be miniature items in a small soft bag that fits in my not very big case, LOL. Love the part near the end where you show the altar items set out and arranged as you would have them while away. Just fabulous! x🙏💕🌺
Thank you for sharing Simon. What a great video. I love the colours that you used on the box. Nicely done! I love seeing all the things that you've included in your travel alter. Mine isn't as decorative and nice as yours. I have mine packed in a clear plastic box with a handle in case it rains during transportation. I usually take along more tarot and oracle with me. I have stone animals from each of the suits of the OAT tarot (I'm hoping to get the mini 😉) which would be perfect for travel.
Having moved a few times using cardboard boxes for my tarot decks I now always use plastic storage containers for my more important decks when stored. They keep the moisture and mold out and prevent warping or damage to the cards 🃏 that you sometimes get in storage. Most plastic boxes 📦 aren’t as aesthetically pleasing as wooden ones but if you through a spread cloth over them it solves that problem a bit.
Wauwww Simon so many lovely things in your travel altar just gorgeous, the purple on is beautiful...i dont have a travel altar but soon i will now i have seen yours.... thanks for sharing my friend 😊👍
Hello beautiful soul well what can i say i'm loving the box the purple is beautiful I have a couple of those boxes that i keep candles and cones in but yes well done on being all arty and crafty lol and thank you for the shout out ❤
Before I even watch the video, I have to say that yes, you are creative! The things that you collect, the way you arrange them is so pleasing and beautiful. Just saying! My Venusian perspective...
since I don't have space where I live I only use travel altars, that one is a good size and that purple is beauiful! gold and purple are my favorite colors w black, beautiful box simon!
Very nice Simon. I don't have a tavel altar at thd moment but do intend to put one together. I especially like the God and Goddess. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Blessings xo
Thanks, Simon. Just what I needed today and it gave me some ideas. It’s interesting to see others’ take on what is necessary in such an altar box. My own boxes I don’t consider to be “travel” but are just collections of things that go together in various ways. For traveling I tend to go with padded pouches or bags that will fit into suitcases 🧳 and such.
My smallest, very basic one is a tarot deck, a crystal, and a rosary (I’m not catholic, it’s from a hard time in my life) all together in a tarot wrap that has a built-in zipper pouch. Easy to put in any bag or suitcase. Thanks again. :)
That's quite a HUGE 'travel altar'. Quite deep. Perhaps the camera's misleading. I don't think I'd manage to 'travel' with it further than one room to another. Now that it's so well-packed, all you need is somewhere to travel with it. Next - a footlocker-sized one equipped to hold some larger sized god/goddesses.
I absolutely love the idea of a travel Altar! I hadn’t heard of this before. I watched the whole of this video with a smile on my face 😊 and the altar at the end so beautiful!
Hi Simon, 👋 Your travel altar box is absolutely gorgeous and no I don't have one..yet! Between you and Becca you've given me some wonderful ideas. 😍 I was wondering tho if you have sealed the paint, as it may start chipping away! When Autumn arrives I really enjoy getting cosy n creative, slowly I'm building up my art resources. 🎨While going for walks in the park, I collect leaves, paint them with pva glue and decorate a clear jar with them and add led batteries lights inside. It is so relaxing, simply to do and beautiful to look at. Love this video, thank you for sharing. 🙏 ❤
Love your New and Old travel alter…. The God & Goddess statues 😍Love the offering mat the patchwork is perfect did someone make that for you!!♥️ 🧳 Thanks for sharing!
That's a lovely big box (the smaller box is gorgeous!). When it was finished and you opened it up I immediately thought of those orbs flying around your room in Glastonbury. lol I think they've come to live in your travel altar box! It looks like a very nice home with lots of interesting "neighbors" in there. The God and Goddess are beautiful! Is that one of your Glastonbury finds? They had a presence right away and then when you showed the altar set up at the end they were stunning. The whole altar took my breath away. Love the glass candles and the offering bowls with the little sunflower. You had Pixie there and incense and crystals and just everything you could possibly need or want in an altar. It's beautiful. I don't have a travel altar but I'm thinking about one, you know how that goes. lol Thanks for sharing the whole process. Purple! I'd never have guessed it! lol It's so lovely and it's so YOU. Happiness in your travels, Simon.
I found a makeup case at a thrift store that I made into a travel alter. I love how you decorated your travel alter, it's beautiful. I am going to try and find Chakra discs, yours are lovely what a great idea to put those in.
So many lovely things in your travel altar, it’s a real treasure box. I really enjoy your ‘how to’ videos - thanks to a previous one I can actually manage to light a charcoal disk! 💗
Love the video! Could/would you list the items in your alter? There is no CC and English accents are not always easy for me as I'm hard of hearing and also from the US.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! Well done! I’ll have to look into the Florida water. Would you advise packing decks used strictly for traveling, other than bringing your “at home” decks? I often worry about my decks picking up energy from other locations. You’ve given me great inspiration, Simon. Thank you. I’m still working on my VR! Have a great day ☺️
@The Hermit's Cave first, what a great video! Second, as you know, you, @Jennifer Ball's Witch House and I are charter members of the Purple Lover's Club, so the second I received the notification, I definitely needed to watch this video. Finally, no, I do not have a travel Altar, although given how often I have traveled, I have a thought and a feeling that that might need to change. In the meantime, although I AM not all that Crafty, I think I could handle painting a box, and I especially love the large box you found. Interestingly enough, there is a place that I need to visit tomorrow, roughly seven blocks away from my building, and they do sell small boxes, so I might just find one, and I think I could have it ready before #PhiladelphiaVacation2022 Also, at one point in the video, I saw that your digital watch had a rainbow flag image on its screen and the purple in the rainbow flag was a perfect tonal match to the "Wizard" paint you used for your travel Altar Box.
Oh yes, well spotted! Yes it’s the pride flag and it has a corresponding strap. I really think it would be cool to see your travel alter, if you do manage to find a box in your locality. Thank you for watching, my friend and enjoy your trip to Philadelphia, as I know you always do. 😉
@@the_hermits_cave Good morning Simon, although quite possibly by the time you read this your response might be "Good afternoon." Actually, I did notice some colors on the strap of your digital watch. I had never seen that before and it looked quite cool. Also, yes, the store that I mentioned I shall visit today, and see what they have, as far as boxes. Indeed, once I create a travel Altar, I shall happily make a video about it on my RU-vid Channel. Regarding Philadelphia, yes, I AM very excited about my upcoming trip. It shall be a little shorter than usual, but I AM so happy to return, as always.
Wow simon it’s so nice lovely to watch. Simon I did your VR from 2 days I think you didn’t watched may be am not in your subscribed list please do check I uploaded. Beautiful goddess💖
