When did you go and what river system? I picked up a few of the Shimano Strong Assassins, a beefier two hook version of the World Minnow, a cool lure for sure. Water level is everything, high water really makes it really tough and the last few years have been unpredictable. My first trip in 2015 was a hundred year record low and we got 61 fish the first half day but the big ones were few and far between, every full day was over a hundred fish. Hoping you scored as the trip progresses, going back for my twelfth time (seven Brazil and four Colombia) in nine days and again the middle of November. Those pacas and the true butterflies fight way harder than our South Florida version. Hoping you scored a twenty from a fellow South Floridian.

That’s awesome you should do well. Our water level was higher than we would’ve liked we fished the Matupiri river. I’m hosting my own trip next year and going to the rio negro later in the season to have that lower water.

i know we spoke last night about the aftco hoodies..im going back and watching ur videos.. how did this adapt phase change hoodie work in the brazil heat? is it better then the samurai hoodie?

The samurai hoodie is a slightly heavier material. It’s softer than the adapt phase change but I think in the Brazil heat the adapt phase change is my go to shirt for ultra hot conditions.

@Johnny Stabile wow, no kidding!!! I'm getting ideas for 1, i have the samurai t shirt. Still not warm enough. Still a while before we get super heat here in CT. But the Adapt phase change seems to be a winner. Thanks brother...
