Lee Greenwood is the original singer of this song. The collaboration was filmed during Covid lockdowns. This is why you see each singer separately. Right now I am watching my favorite Brit. Later I am firing up the grill for some baby back ribs. Probably cook up some street corn to go with them. Spent yesterday with my mom

Sort of right. Most of Home Free and Lee Greenwood recorded in one studio. I think Adam was in a separate studio. And the Air Force singers were recorded at a separate location.

As a Disabled American Veteran who served over 20 years in the Military this song means a lot to me. I've been stationed in Europe, Asia Deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm and deployed numerous other places seeing that American Flag waving over our base was very comforting and filled me with Pride

Happy 4th from Southeast Tennessee! Fireworks have been going off here too & sounded like mortar rounds next door last night! Used to live on a beautiful lake off the TN River & our dock was a front row seat to the HUGE fireworks show the Fire/Police Dept did every year over the lake. It was great watching the fireworks & also the hundreds of boats come in for the show!😊🇺🇸

When we returned to Ft. Bragg from Operation Golden Pheasant in 1988 Lee came to post and played a concert for us, at the end of this song a gigantic American flag came streaming down behind him, I can't describe the patriotism that swelled in my heart; a moment that I will never forget.

Just read this. So sorry about your father. I'm a Vietnam veteran who knows what the pain was to come home to people screaming at us that we were fools for serving, and worse. I'm sure late father knew all about this. Of course, by the 1980s the nation changed its tune. But it was a national disgrace for what happened to returning vets in the late 1960s through 1970s.

I was 9 in July 1984 when my parents took me to a Lee Greenwood show at our local county fair. This song takes me back to that day. We bought his cassette tape at the show and I listened to this over and over. Love every version of it and great reaction again Gitana.

Home Free had already covered this song by Lee, but wanted to redo it with Lee and the Air Force Band! Great decision - outstanding collaboration! This was during the height of covid which is why it was filmed separately in 4 cities. I love how unapologetically patriotic Home Free is! Beautiful rendition. Adam Rupp making the the fly over sound at the end is a touch only Home Free would include. Gotta love 'em. Thanks Gitana. ♥💙🍟

Saturday - big cookout, watched fireworks rode my Harley Sunday - spent the day on a boat, watched fireworks and rode my Harley lol Then on Monday, the actual 4th, I did nothing chilled at home with my dog 😂

My kids sang this song during the 1st Gulf war at elementary school. I was in Kuwait and they had all of the parents photos on the wall inside the auditorium that was in Desert Storm. It means alot

Lee Greenwood was my mom's favorite singer and God Bless the USA was one of her favorite songs. I Miss You Mom and Dad. All you guys on here and all across the USA and to the Gitana Family, our Adopted American family from the UK, Happy 4th of July. I love you guys and don't ever change. Lee Greenwood released this song back in 1984 and it became a hit back then. Home Free did an awesome job working with Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Band in rendering this slightly updated version. Glad you did this one. Keep in mind that Lee Greenwood is now in his late 70's and yet there he is still belting out this amazing song.

I have 4 younger siblings that are or were in the different armed forces, not to mention uncles, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers. I can't help but get a little misty-eyed as I listen to this song, and it happens every time, but most especially during this version, probably because of the service men and women in it.

that group of soldiers are the active military band called the United States Air Force Singing Sargents...they are all active sargents in the AF. At my neighbors house for a pool party & BBQ and watching baseball games....FUN DAY....currently nursing a wonderful cooling Miami mojito...it's the birthplace of the mojito, right here in the Miami night clubs !!!

4th of July is my parents wedding day so I take that as an omen. Gitana, you would have to be in Airborne as a paratrooper, yeah , don't know what the US calls them. Lovely song , Home Free are great as are all the other voices but the lady at 3:54 really stood out for me. Happy 4th of July to all Americans.

This song never fails to make me cry. Especially now that I'm the widow of a man who spent his life since he was drafted at 18 to go to Vietnam in the Air Force. God bless the USA🙏 Honey I knew very petite women in the AirForce. I was an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic. The other female in the shop was 5ft 3in and could lift those 100 lb pieces of mechanical equipment with the best of them. You qualify.

When I was stationed at Naval Hospital Beaufort in South Carolina (during Desert Storm and after) by decree of our Chief, all members of my department would muster in the Enlisted Club on Friday afternoons. We were able to blow off stream while remembering our brothers and sisters forward deployed did not have that simple luxury. The club closed promptly at 2030 every night before it closed we would circle up and close out the night with Lee Greenwood's original version of this song with all of us singing along. As for height requirements, some of the most feared service members I've known were the tiny fire plugs. As for being gone Life Happens. Your health (mental & physical) and your family come first. No need to apologize. Ever. God Bless
