MY REACTION To Kristi Burke's "5 Bible Passages That Made Me Lose My Faith" VIRAL VIDEO! 

I am coming back to Christianity after a 2 year absence please pray for my renewal!

If you lose your faith through Biblical study, you were looking for a reason to disbelieve, to begin with.

If you lose your faith through biblical study, then that means you actually read the bible. If you dont lose your faith through biblical study, then you had someone read it to you.

Kristi's channel is great for people who left Christianity but are still healing from it.

The real sadness is she hasn’t lost her faith because it’s not a question of whether or not God exists; it’s that she refuses to worship God because she does not approve of His ways. It is the same with the devil and demons who know that God exist. The demons, even obeyed Jesus, but in every case, they refused to worship him.

The problem here, is when she was having questions, she lean on her own understanding. She wrestled within herself. She lacked a spiritual mentor that she could converse with. She reasoned alone and this is the result. We should pray for her.

He is translating an already translated book. You have to take it as it's written. You can't make up your own justification for what God word says. You can't pick and choose what scriptures are credible or not. If you claim this is the word of God, then you have to take the entire book as it's written rather, it's good or bad. He basically comes up with his own translation of an already translated book. He did not answer any questions.

I used to be a very fervent and devoted believer and it was the study of the Bible that lead me out of the faith. Most of my life was spent listening to preachers but once I was ready for the next step, I started listening to biblical scholars. Unfortunately I learned too much and had no choice but to let go of the faith I held so dear.

I'm so very new to Christianity. I just started reading the Bible. I've started with the book of Mark. I am so drawn to your channel and I really appreciate you and your channel. Thank you for helping me start a relationship with God.

I went the complete opposite. I had all of these same questions and more, especially regarding science and archeology and the more I study the Bible, the more I am completely convinced of God.

I walked away from the faith for 10 years. I've been back for over a year. So grateful for his mercy and God's grace.

What a disappointment, I actually took the time to watch this video because I heard that you had made some compelling counterpoints to Kristi Burke's video. Nothing you stated, and I mean NOTHING, debunks what she said, or justifies what those bible verses state. I was pretty sure I was in for a disappointment right off the bat when you attempted to justify Romans 9 verse, God is under no moral obligation to extend to us salvation!!?? I would argue that it is completely immoral to offer a creature you created eternal salvation without a clear path, or way to achieve that salvation, by testing them in so many different immoral ways, when again, they have no clear set of rules or guidelines to go by. If you say god has no obligation to be moral himself, they why is it said we are created in his image, or why does he want his creations to be moral if that attribute is not something he holds as a cherished attribute personally. Your analogy about the teacher and rewarding candy to the students was just god awful, no pun intended, first, they do have obligations to their students. A teacher is obligated to educating her students, or in a bigger sense, imparting them with knowledge that will help them navigate the world around them as an adult when they venture out on their own, no? So the mere fact of bribing them with a candy reward if they behave in the proper way, by the rules she's laid out, is already teaching them that morality is interchangeable with rules. Being kind to your neighbors, or helping the less fortunate, or not stealing things that don't belong to you should be considered selfless acts, that help others suffer less and enjoy life more, leading to a more prosperous enlightened and happy society. Going by your logic or your gods logic, those things are only done in order to get a prize at the end, you wrap it all up with a nice little bow and call it morality. It is a good analogy for Christianity as a whole, which uses personal satisfaction, one might even say greed, in order to get people to act in a manor, and live their life as the religion sees fit. That's not morality, let's not get it twisted, morality is a very personal thing, two people that live next door to each other, and are good friends, could have very different moral values. Basically the teacher is teaching her kids to only do something if there is something in it for them, and that is no way to send a child out into the world. There are many other flaws in just that analogy alone, but they, as the rest of your video is too much to get into, you are simply another Christian apologist, and a poor one at that, I have heard far more convincing and intelligent apologies or explanations of the Christian faith, than the drivel that you laid out, do you ever have nontheists on your channel to debate, or give counter points?? I doubt it, any of them with half a brain would your shred your nonsense to pieces. Good day sir.

Often times I've found that there's two types of Atheist...those who think they're better than God and those who are angry at God. I pray for her.

When you explained the application of Psalm 137:9, this came into my mind: Something DESCRIBED in the Bible, is NOT the same as something PRESCRIBED by the Bible. Thanks for your elaboration at that point, Allen!

You guys really think Kristi Burke doesn't know all of these things. You forget she was an evangelical Christian for over 20 years. She knows exactly what she is talking about.

This is a huge issue I keep hearing about... "deconstructing faith" it's one thing to ask honest questions to get to understand God it's another to ask loaded questions and try to nit pick God's word so you can do whatever you want in your own moral code.

I have a cousin who once called me in a panic asking, "How do I know if God chose me or not?!" I asked him, "Did you choose Him back?" "Yes." "Then you know He chose you." This short conversation conquered my cousin's panic. Praise God! God extends the invitation. It is up to us to receive it by faith or not.

What I've learned over the years is that people who lose their faith probably never knew a living God in the first place. I find a lot of people who lose their faith come from Christian families and never got to know God in their own relationship with him.

I watched the Kristi Burke's video about a month ago and it made me question God because I was not understanding the meanings of the passages correctly, and this video really helped me to understand them better and I'm so grateful for this video. Thank you so much!

Insane how a person can carefully explain to you why they don't believe, and all you have to offer is to accuse her of never believing and that she should just "trust in the lord". Do you all realize how alienating you are? Do you hear yourselves? How do you expect for anyone to hear you out when all you have is accusations?

It is so fun to watch him dance around, change word and try to depend the bible.

She really broke my heart when she said substitutionary death of Christ was totally unnecessary. Imagine standing before Christ on the judgement day explaining that your understanding led you to concluding that Jesus Christ didn't need to die to save the sinners. She absolutely never knew Christ. May the grace of God redeem her soul.

Her asking me to set a 1 minute timer for not to believe in God made me really upset, because before I was saved I was always angry and even self harming I could never in my life let go my love for Jesus

Brother Alan, I'm a pastor of a small church in Columbus, Ohio, who has always loved your channel and your content. This is an excellent video to "deconstruct" the deception that I see this lady being under. A great work that you're doing, be encouraged in the LORD our GOD.

I've seen so many of these "deconstruction" videos and they pretty much all have a common thread. I truly do not believe they no longer believe there's a God, rather they're mad at Him so they choose to no longer associate.

"Set a timer on my phone and disbelieve for one minute?" No ma'am my salvation means too much to me. Jesus didn't pay the ultimate price for me to switch it on and off.

I think the first passage from Romans will dictate the rest. People want THEIR preferences to be above God's and He CLEARLY tells us He is sovereign AND that His ways are NOT our ways! He also asks us to test Him by being obedient and holding Him to His Word (which one has to know to find out our benefits). If one does this, they will learn that God IS LOVE and ALWAYS keeps His Word and although we do not understand everything (remember, The Bible says we see thru the glass darkly), we can FULLY trust Him! Let those with ears to hear, hear...🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

She’s bitter because she used to have no concept of repentance and then she met a hyper Calvinist and now believes that’s what Christianity actually teaches. Both couldn’t be further from the truth.

When anyone attempts to deconstruct God, they end up deconstructing themselves. I pray God opens her eyes.

The bible has over 23,000 verses and she did not understand 5. Suggest she keeps reading.

Tha first time I read my bible from cover to cover, I did have some thoughts of His 'ways', but after reading the bible I can sum it up to one word. LOVE. God's love, mercy, patience and awesomeness is displayed all throughout. I am now in my 2nd round of reading the bible cover to cover and will continue to read it again and again.

8:01 God is allegedly is not under any moral obligation to extend mercy or salvation to any of us. But if he claims he is ALL LOVING and ALL BENEVOLENT he is under a logical obligation to show love, forgiveness, mercy to his creation. He is God, he may do whatever he wants, but might does NOT make right, if he creates some people with a specific purpose for them to go to hell and be tortured forever, than he is not loving, he is a monster in fact.

The real question is this, after all this arguing and debating ARE UNBELIEVERS GENUINELY HAPPY? They focus their energy on bashing God but all they show is bitterness, somehow convincing themselves that they don’t need God. I can’t even imagine a second without my Lord. God is sovereign and will forever be.

How could she say she was an "evangelist" but can't tell the difference between when GOD is speaking and when men speak.

I didn’t fully understand the crucifixion until I read Leviticus. We as humans needed to see God sacrifice for us, it WAS an act of love that was SO needed for us humans to understand his love and understand our need for him.

I'm a lifelong Christian, but I'm always studying apologetics and the hardest questions I can find about Christianity, to sharpen my faith and my ability to give an answer for it to those who ask. When I listened to this video a couple months back, I was challenged at first by a lot of her points, and immediately searched RU-vid for rebuttal videos from strong apologists. I couldn't find basically any! I did eventually find good answers, such as a great answer to whether God is a narcissist in the podcast "God and Narcissism" on Spotify. She talks about that in another video, I think. But I'm so glad an apologist with a lot of wisdom and a large following is finally addressing Kristi and effectively breaking down her arguments. Thank you for the work you do.

Thank you so much for making this video. The comments under her videos saying she’s saving lives is so scary. And the fact that she was introduced to Calvinism and then lost her faith isn’t surprising.

This morning the Lord gave me a message to remind myself (and Sister Kristi): Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

I hope that Kristi watches this. You can't base your faith on one verse in the Bible. There is always more to set the stage for that verse.

Her problem is she isn’t educated on these topics and refuses to learn because she’s already made up her own mind on God. When I struggled with verses in the Bible I researched the verse and what others were saying about it because I knew in my heart God is real and true.

You never had Christ in your heart if ONE verse made you question. You went into it with the wrong intentions and, as always, blaming God for everything….

I request every protestant to read the writings of early church fathers, the history of the church, and the interlinear bible too. I assure you lots of doubts will be solved.

I'm not going to lie. I have struggled with some of those and other obscure scriptures. I don't have to understand everything. I just need to trust God and know His Word is authority. The Holy Spirit reveals this to me ❤

I come from a Christian upbringing within a devout family. However, last year, I found myself on the brink of losing my faith. Yet, in a powerful intervention, God made it clear that I was not meant to stray. This encounter with God was unlike any other I've had, and I hope everyone gets to experience it because it feels like being born again. Jesus, I cherish you. Thank you for rescuing my soul. Amen.

Rather than justify the apalling passages in the bible, he finds contradictory passages. This really shows how flawed and unreliable the bible is as a moral guide to anything.

Thank you Allen for talking about this, this woman's page is very dangerous and scary, because she didn't understand the Bible doesn't mean she should destroy others beliefs especially those starting their faith, rather you challenge that fact and try to proof and understand the passage. How far you can go to understand God determines how well you love him. How can you say God hates women and his people yet you've been living your Life normally as a hateful woman towards your God for a long time all because you didn't understand yet he hasn't struck you, that on its own is mercy and free weal.

I watched her video first to see if I could answer the questions first and then compared my answers to yours. Yours were better lol, but I was happy that I was at least somewhat prepared to give a defense. Praying that she sees this video and that her eyes are opened to truth. I remember my "deconstruction", but when I went back and realized alot of the questions I had were strawman, it reinforced my faith.

We don’t need to understand everything that God does, His ways are greater than our ways, but He always acts out of love and we need to trust that He knows what He’s doing

Its scary how she's trying to convince people to not believe in God. She seems like a very intellegent, articulate woman and prayerfully she comes (back) to Christ.

It sounds like her lack of faith is a result of a lack of proper theology. If she had a solid Bible teacher to help her properly answer these questions, she might have been able to keep her faith. Let's pray for her. It's not too late!

I was sad to hear the young lady's thoughts and view on God (it breaks my heart), but I rejoice in how you gave such a clear explanation of what the bible passages really mean. I pray for repentance in her life, that she changes her mind about God and come back to Him.

God asked for human sacrifices in the bible too. The main blood sacrifice was his on son Jesus. You cant call another religion/Gods/ humans evil without calling the Christian God evil to for human sacrifices. This is craziness.

Another flaw in her reasoning, which is very common amongst people who believe like her, is the following: “I don’t understand something, therefore, it’s incorrect/it doesn’t exist”. Do you understand exactly how your cell phone works? How gravity works? If you don’t does that mean it’s not real? Does that mean it doesn’t function? No, it means you don’t understand the principles by which it functions. If you do not understand something it does not inherently negate the thing you don’t understand. Wisdom would be to say, “God I don’t understand this, please help me to understand.” This will take you on a spiritual journey in which God will instruct you as a father and you will build a relationship with God and grow spiritually. Matt 7:7

Authoritarianism, Vindictiveness, Jealousy, Impatience, Favoritism, Aggression, Inconsistency. While these traits might reflect the complex nature of divine behaviour in the theological context, they would be considered indicators of unhealthy behaviour in a human psychological analysis.

This woman admits she thinks she has a better morality than God. She is judging God. The creature judging the Creator! That's hubris. And that is usually the crux of the matter with these deconstructionists. They think their morality is better than God. It is asinine logic to assume we humans can have superior morality than the Creator who is the source of all that is true and good.

Only... she didn't really ever believe. If she had, she wouldn't have been open to disbelief. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus doesn't lose any of those that the father gives him.

Proverbs 2:12-14, "Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil."

Curiously, a lot of those who claim to be 'deconstructing' cite the doctrines of Calvinism as one of their main reasons for leaving Christianity. As one who suffered from confusion and mental 'agony' because of this doctrine, I think it's a serious concern that needs to be addressed by the church.

More apologetic b.s. Belief in the god of the bible is the worst kind of abusive relationship. No matter how awful he shows you he is, you can come up with a reason for him. It's no different than being a battered spouse. And Allen doesn't address the fundamental arguments that the other post was making. He makes points that other believers will eat up, but he is completely missing the fundamental arguments.

I prayed because I didn't feel like I was knowledgeable enough to give a good response. But it disturbed me so much because her video helps to give a push and confirmation to other people in doubt and moving away from the Lord. Thank you for addressing what she said. Hopefully your video will show up around her video, so those same people who would check her video, will check yours too. It's a very self centered approach with which she read into the scriptures, seemingly basing her thoughts/ perspectives/perceptions as morally higher and more sensible than God's. God, who created everything, and allowed for everything to exist. We as humans deceive ourselves sometimes and become foolish in our perceived wisdom. I'm praying for her and her comment section.

She didn't lose her faith in God, she lost her love, honor and respect for God. Be cautious of the judgment of knowing the truth and turning away as opposed to not knowing about the thruth at all.

I beg to differ. She hit all the notes. I say that as an atheist who has had the best education for achieving atheism. A Catholic upbringing I was so happy to finally rid myself of! Thankfully, there are great thinkers who debunk religion who are even better, like Matt Dillahunty!

Of all the passages to cause someone to lose their faith, John 3:16 is the most surprising. I find it hardly surprising though that much of the time, there is a disconnect of each of those verses from the rest of the Word of God. I wish her well though. . . Thanks for covering this, Allen! I looked into her channel, she wore a shirt that called her self "a evil and wicked child" because of that i cant take her bible criticism seriously, how do you know something is evil if you declare you are evil your self? The bad thing is many people do look up to her
