My Response To Thogdad...

Honestly thogden seems like he’s handled this quite well, shame that his dad couldn’t do the same

I love the idea that Thogdad thinks you were annoyed about him not coming to your wedding haha. The biggest and happiest day of your life he thinks you'd be stood at the altar going "If only Thogdad were here to see this"

As I said in the video, I do not condone anyone going to Stephen and giving hate. I hope this can be resolved in due course.

Ironically, how Thogdad responded is exactly what Viz was trying to disprove. He tried to explain why they were hated and attempted to defend them and then he goes and acts in a way which is why people can hate them.

Remember a couple of years ago when Theo was live streaming and mentioned Arsenal, and his dad interjected slagging off Robbie from AFTV? Turns out Theo and Robbie were in discussions about doing a colab but the talks broke down. Thogdad not only decided to make this public in a way in which Theo couldn't prevent it nor ignore it but he also claimed Robbie wanted payment to appear with Theo. Robbie was asked about this on Happy Hour and claimed in the end he didn't have time to appear due to his own work but refuted that he wanted payment, which was backed up by others who stated Robbie has never asked about payment. So thanks to his dad, Theo was made to look like a spoilt prat and take the flak. Not a fan of Thogdon but I do have sympathy for him - his biggest sycophant and drawback is his own dad.

I fucking love how calmly both Liam and Theo have handled this. Then there’s just thogdad in his own world trying desperately too get readers on his publication

That man is 50 or 60 and he is essentially acting like a 15 year old girl who just got heartbroken because she cheated on her boyfriend 5 times and blaming him for her cheating, great video!

Well this is very sad to see, thogdad has always seemed like a nice man and lots of people who dislike thogden always give props to steve "thogdad" as a nice genuine guy but to see this throws that out the window imo, your video was very fair and impartial and for him to react like this is completely out of order thogdans father or not you don't react this way, but i think we can all agree thogdan included your video was great and very fair to him, hopefully thogdad can see this for what it is and publicly apologise.

I in no way understand where his reaction came from. If he‘s depressed - so be it, everyone can be and I hope he seeks and receives the help that he needs. Just, if this is true, don‘t let it out on someone that OBJECTIVELY made an unbiased mini-doc about why a certain content creator is one of/if not the most hated in this football YT industry. If anything you were trying to help Thogden. Shine some light on why a huge amount of the trolling and hate is just nonsense and stems from pure vileness. He himself even acknowledged that with his comments on your video. You were - and I think EVERYONE here will state the same - in some way whilst just stating the whole case and shining a light on the topic also - with or without intent - really helping clear the air on Thogden‘s hate and maybe promote some change surrounding his internet persona. And I think Thogden is thankful for that - hence his response. And his father, as a caring parent, should be thankful for that as well. Where this reaction now stems from is a mystery and it generally just baffles me. Anyways, dont let it get to you. I have not the slightest impression that you have or will but as I said, you never know whats going on behind closed doors - and that applies to every single on of us. You've addressed the situation perfectly. It's a real shame that this is, maybe not the true side, but a prominent side of Thogdad - not taking the time to appreciate criticism and disregarding it as "trolling". Maybe he's truly in a dark place in the moment, maybe he's not and is intentionally trying to gather hate. We truly don't know, but again you've addressed in the best way possible. Let's hope he does the right thing and apologise, because this can be forgiven and you've given him a lot of opportunities to reconcile, so the option is absolutely not off the table. Really winds me up that Theo had used the term depression so lightly at the end there, depression doesn’t come over the course of a few days, being upset does, you don’t just get depressed by the click of a finger

You’ve probably been thinking about this clickbait for months and you’ve opened a can of worms that never need to be opened.

As a conservative myself I find Thogdad’s response unequivocally disgusting. By no means does his political affiliations have anything to do with his actions. Please stop correlating this kind of behaviour with that of the party. There are people of all kinds compassionate, respectful, hateful and disrespectful from across the political spectrum but it doesn’t mean we all or even the vast majority act like this.

From a psychological perspective, I think Q3 & Q4 were the main triggers that made him feel necessary to respond in the way he did, and all the rest of the questions is just different ways in which his lashing out manifested. To be fair, looking at messages containing death threats made toward one’s son can be more than capable of causing the level of emotional turbulence we’re witnessing in this video; it does not mean the passive-aggressive patronizing demeanour is justifiable from Thogdad’s end. I think this situation has been poorly handled by him.

I have to say I watched the original video and you were spot on with everything. I’ve watched Thogdan for a while now and personally noticed a change in his and his dads demeanor in the past year, so in truth I’m not surprised that Thogdad responded the way he did. He's not doing the right thing, however you have a little bit of history with his son and he was probably worried that he'd have to listen to another 'diss track'. He also clearly didn't watch the video, but is definitely unhappy about how much his son gets trolled and he was trying to protect him, therefore his intentions were good, but he just got caught in the moment and unleashed his worst side. Everyone makes mistakes, he doesn't usually but he made a costly one with that last question

Would feel the same about the end comment if that was said to me too. He’s life can’t be that great if he has to try look down on people to make he’s life seem better. Wealth doesn’t define people , it doesn’t define success or failure either. People can have a good life and be happy without having loads of money. Also some people are born into money and never have to struggle , others are from working class backgrounds and have to work a lot harder to get where they want to be in life. The latter is longer but fills you with pride knowing you did it yourself through hard work and determination to be better .

I consider myself on the periphery of football youtube, I watch a few channels and a few different recommended videos when they pop up in my feed. I have seen the perception of Thogden to be particularly negative for any video he was featured in and I never understand why people felt this way, nor did I understand the extent of their hatred towards him. I watched your piece on Thogden not gleefully rubbing my hands together hoping for an expose on a youtube so that I too could pile on the hate, I watched it to edify myself on the situation and went into it hoping you would fairly highlight the contrasting viewpoints around Thogden. I must say your video was a success in its approach and the way in which you balanced perceived controversies with your own opinion and explanations, I left the video appreciating Thogden as a youtuber more and to be honest don't consider the hate towards him to be justified. So to put it simply, your video on Thogden painted him in a positive light to me and I look forward to more of his content and more of your content. It seems that unfortunately any sort of nuance or critical thought was missing for Thogdad, I hope it's a heat of the moment response on his part and not a true indication of his character.

I didn't find any issue with the previous video at all, weren't the biggest fan of Thogden and personally thought Thogdad were perhaps the better of the two, but this has completely changed my view and at least Theo handled the situation far better too. Bit uncalled for from Stephen in regards to the personal comments towards Liam :/
