This gameplay was very realistic and look like something from E3. You’re just using your flashlight to see what’s behind the locked door, and all of a sudden the Alien’s there. The Alien sees that you used a flashlight and it’s going to your destination and you’re hiding. Then it comes in the room and checks the hiding spots. So realistic and accurate.
As soon as you got done holding your breath, and let out a gasp, the alien screamed, and I thought it had heard you, but THANKFULLY, it went after someone else entirely. lol
@@thealienontheinternet God! It’s freaky and awesome. lol I beat this game on nightmare mode a long time ago (hardest difficulty) and boy was it tedious and stressful. lol Thanks for the upload. 🙂
What I love is that the Alien sees you through the window and reacts accordingly by running down the corridor and round to where you would be just like in real life. There's so many instances in games years ago where windows seem to be tricky for the A.I to navigate. They either don't see you at all as its basically just a wall with a bit of coding that allows the player to look through it, or the enemy tries to attack you through it as if it wasn't there at all because it itself has no awareness of the barrier. In this instance it saw you, knew exactly where you were in relation to the layout of the corridors and attempted to intercept you on route. This game was a truly underrated gem.
Yes, the Alien feels like an intelligent creature, capable of navigating around the station. You can even fool him for a while using trinkets and sounds. This is one of the things that makes this game unique.
I learned that there are two ai systems in this game. An ai that knows where you are at all times (called director) and an ai that is what we see: the alien. It Makes it decisions more believable and less clunky like the other games in your mind
@TheMisterGuy they didn't have full on lists of impulse and option trees based on interactions the ai had The alien can actually "make" decisions, I've seen it rethink things, learn patterns, contemplate searching, and set traps
This is probably one of the coolest clips I've seen out of any gameplay clips of this game. It literally played out like a movie scene. This is why the game is so damn good 👌
I have finished this game in all Dificulties and it still makes me uncomfortable watching scary and anxious moments from it. A really well made horror game.
I love the Alien Franchise and this game but I’ve never been able to progress past Mission 7. I’ve no problem w/ Outlast, Silent Hill, RE, Dead Space, Amnesia, etc. I think it’s because the idea of being trapped on a failing spaceship and hunted by an intelligent alien is about the scariest damn thing I can imagine. It’s not that any one moment is too much for me to handle but overall the game creates too much dread in my psyche.
I agree with you, the whole setting and the atmosphere are super stressful, and although I love it as a game mechanic, the fact that you can’t even dream of fighting or outrunning the Alien is absolutely unnerving. The most offensive thing you can do is attempt to scare him away for a few seconds before he comes back angrier than ever. I love this game, I wish it received as much recognition as it deserves.
It’s also like with those other games you can either fight back or run. You can’t really do anything to the alien at least until you get the flamethrower and even then that’s only a temporary solution
@@thealienontheinternet indeed, lmao. One time I was trying to escape the lab (because Waits locked me in it as bait) and the Alien came, out of nowhere. But I was low on Flame thrower ammo and I didn’t want to use it and run out of ammo, so I used my flash bang and ran away to hide and the Alien was running to my destination. Luckily, I was hiding in a locker.
playing Alien Isolation for the 1st time and having a quality headphones or speakers with deep bass is unforgetable experience! With average sound system, A.I and Outlast is equal, but with really good sound system Alien Isolation stands alone.
One of my worst scares will always be when I had just managed to slip by the alien in the medical area by hiding under a gurney. it walked past me and jumped into the vent and while it did so, I carefully walked into the room to plunder the corpse left behind. Not even a second after I opened the body's inventory did the alien decide to drop down out of the vent right beside me to give me a reminder as to why one should never be so bold.
I don't have footage but one time I was walking through a door and as it slid open the Alien was standing there, right on the other side. It insta killed me but just seeing it there scared me far more. I just stopped playing for the rest of the evening after that.
In my 30 years of playing video games, 4 video games made feel genuinely uneasy, or even fearful. AvP2 by Monolith, F.E.A.R. also by Monolith, Alien: Isolation and Aliens: Dark Descent. By far F.E.A.R. is the worst: I installed the game at my house, said "nope", and then went to an internet cafe to play it because I didn't want to be alone playing it. But Alien Isolation is a close second. Also few things give you sweaty palms quite like the chase out of the hive from AvP2
Indeed that avp2 chase out of the hive when you've discovered what happened to your female teammate is absolutely nerve racking. Even the predator missions in AvP2 weren't easy and also we're tough.
Whether people say this game is good or bad you can’t deny the smart move by the creators of the Xenomorphs hunting you in the dark in the shadows It’s so much more terrifying not knowing where they will strike
@@thealienontheinternet i know that sensation where u think the danger has past, all is safe and then u heard a screaming voice juste ahead of youre hidden place
Oh my fucking fuck that is FUCKED BRO that was sick as shit I love that so muuuuuch that was so cool it's like something out of a movie or a trailer or something like that just the turning on the flashlight to see the alien hidden in the darkness God I love this game
It looks like I will never going to complete all the tasks in this game if trapped with an alien everywhere. But the thing is, I will still keep going with Outlast since that game is not too horror game and it’s easy to complete as well
There were times when i felt like pulling oig my own hair or biting off my own fingers, trying to do some of these missions but hey got there in the end
That's so crazy! It looked planned, like a cut scene or something. I finished this game but they took it off of game pass and i GOTTA get it again. The scariest part to me is running from the alien and the foot steps grow louder and louder as it chases you and there's no way to get away from it...
Trust me, you won’t regret it! It is one of the greatest videogames I have ever played. Sure, it is scary sometimes, but the soundtrack, the sound effects, the environment and even the DLCs are just fantastic, and they make you feel like you’re in the first Alien movie :)
I played my initial game on Nightmare and it was definitely the way it should’ve been played with a barely functional radar and even meager loot! I wish I had my soundbar back then for top scary subwoofered audio!
Ive played just about every horror game I can think of. None so far has given me such anxiety and absolute dread as Alien: Isolation. Good God. I love it so much, but ive yet to finish it 😅😢
Well, even then hiding is better as using the flamer too often leads to Alien becoming less fire-sensitive and the player wasting fuel. Pipe bombs and molotovs are great, but useless when close.
