As a baby, Olympic medalist Fatima Whitbread was abandoned in a North London flat and she then went on to spend 14 years in foster care where she was neglected. In this documentary, Fatima goes back and discusses her childhood spent growing up in the foster system and also meets young people in the United Kingdom who have had similar experiences to her.

Lovely lady. A role model to everyone. We are proud your ours. 🇬🇧 as a lad growing up in the 80s she was like a super hero even though there was no media just 4 channels on tv every one knew her so amagine the fans she would have today.

This is a fantastic documentary and a credit to everyone involved. It gives a balanced but positive view of the difference that good foster care can make to the lives of children. I grew up in children's homes for fourteen years at about the same time as Fatima Whitbread so I recognised from personal experience some of the issues she was talking about. I'm glad that things worked out well for her and that she was able to make so much of her life. That she was able to present such a powerful documentary in such a moving and effective way is a testament both to her and to those who helped her on her journey.

So sad. I was fosterd at 14 after being moved post to post. In the sociaal service system. I am 49 now. My twin brother couldn’t handle it after so much abuse & ended his life when we were just 35. 🦋💫🤍
