Why is everyone so hung up on box camera design? It’s a camera. It fits in your hand, it’s a good size, it’s easily rigged, and most importantly, the image that comes out of it is astounding. Everything else is just “camera fashion“
For me the box format is a functional feature. It's all about use case for sure but getting one of these to comfortable balance on my shoulder for the doc/lifestyle work is a pain. The screen position is another issue when I always need a vmount for long days and it's difficult to access the buttons quickly/intuitively in most scenarios it's not locked off. Gimbal work is also worse with this design. Always a way to work around these issues, but a box design works better in the majority of scenarios. From my experience at least - everyone's needs and workflows are different!
I bought this camera as a 2nd cam to my Pocket 6K Pro.. but man the image quality on the full frame is superior that I made it my main cam. Definitely will sell my Pocket 6k Pro and just get another full frame. One thing I hate about the full frame is the low light.. still don't understand how the low light is worse on the full frame than the Pocket 6K Pro
I just grabbed a ttartisans 17mm f1.4 micro 4/3 and dropped it on a gh5 and had some fun as well. $75 for that lens. Crazy but a really good lens. I’m all vintage and anamorphic with my S5 (my main camera… we love adapters in our lives), and that little cheap ass lens fits right in with my Minolta Rokkor lenses and even my Helios. Kinda cool. Great video, dogs are so much better than people. I made a short film about one recently as well. As we all should. 😉🙏
VERBAL ABUSE!!! But seriously, curious how this camera handles Anamorphic shooting if you're interested in testing that in the final review. Thanks Zach! Keep up the riffy ad reads. Love em!
I'm shooting anamorphic open gate and I'm very pleased with the results. The Sirui 150mm pairs perfectly with this camera and the greatjoy 85mm looks amazing! Recommend a lot.
@@thiagolimadop amazing, thank you! I just ordered the Blazar Remus set and I’m gonna shoot it with the Lumix for a while but when I can I definitely want to rent this camera and take advantage of the better quality open gate and raw. Do they have 1.5 squeeze option for display?
For shooting inside the car i've tried to use Magic arms + clamps, but since camera is quite heavy + 1kilo's Lens.. it always falls forward. So, for car mount, i use Headrest Car mount from Proaim. It's cheap and solid. Also there is Hague from UK. Literally the same thing.
Interesting that you named him Stephen I named mine Esteban. Love the shots and the well loved doggo. I'm one of those guys carrying around the fatty V-mount rig but I go all day - and all of the night. Nice video!
Bruh, do me a favor and review the A7IV for people who do both film and photo work. I know the A7RV is newer but most people aren’t dropping 5K on a camera
