Had 4 Sims graduate from the university at the same time, after taking 4 courses at a time. All prestigious diplomas with overall grades of A and A+. Also found out that a prestigious make you start your relevant career at level 8 EVEN without the Connected reward trait. A trait that I reject : Playful. That one is dangerous. It make that Sim MUCH more likely to die from laughter.

I don't know if it's what they were referencing, but the only other time I've heard the phrase "The Missing Stair", it's in reference to a danger that is known of inside a community which they sometimes forget to communicate to new members of a community. (Like if a staircase had one step missing, and you could easily step over it but only if you were expecting it) Often, and this is deeply unpleasant, a man who should not be left alone with a woman because his behaviour changes drastically in the absence of witnesses. It always made me a little uncomfortable that the Sims referenced that--I like your interpretation better.
