It's weird watching a travel video of your own country and almost instantly recognising every spot. Awesome content man, the edits are really clean and fun
That's awesome! I feel like this trip was just a scouting mission for me though.. Definitely need to do it again properly (I want snow haha). Any must go places in NZ?
@@Itchban Yeah... Beautiful work, mate. Stewart Island, Fiordland, the West Coast, Golden Bay. Plenty of beautiful stuff to see in those places. In the North Island, if you get a chance, Egmont National Park has incredibly beautiful bush scenery.
Your Vlogs are what started my photography journey and I have been enjoying every second of it! Finally could afford my first real camera a while back and got my first paid job this week! Thank you so much ❤️
YT recommended this and I can't be more thankful. I've personally been there myself and was struggling to capture the full glimpse of the beauty. You did it so well my man. Well done!! Loved the vibes. Subbed and can't wait for more!!
Thanks for the sub! The second part of this series it out if you wanna check it out too. And yeah it can be pretty hard to capture the scale of everything hey. Milford was so big.
For those wanting to capture this kind of photography, the trick is magic hour; just do it around sunrise or sunset. Some high quality vlogging NZ footage here and part 2
Ive spent time all around the South Island, seen most of these places with my own eyes... but your footage makes it all feel brand new again. Damn good work.
That's a Suzuki Swift (Maruti here in India), we have plenty of those on our roads, did not know Suzuki had a sizeable market outside of India. People take them everywhere here, even the smaller, and earlier models, like the Alto, and Maruti 800. They are the favourites for the Himalayan mountain roads here--which are narrow, bumpy, jagged, dusty and steep. They fare just fine. I estimate NZ roads are way too tame in comparison.
I found your channel while I was eating and my jaw automatically stopped chewing bro. Thank you for inspiration. This is by far the best solo travel video I've seen. The shooting, the background music, and all elements are fantasstic!!! You deserve so much more views!
Utterly beautiful. I always have a chuckle when people walk away from the Camera, cause you just know they then, stop, walk back, stop the camera recording, the walk back up the same path they just recorded themselves walking up/down.
That little church of the good shepherd at lake tekapo is stunning at night against a dark clear sky , spent the whole night there a few years ago watching the Milky Way overhead , greetings from Ireland .🇮🇪
It was so nice there. There were so many stars. I was lucky I was there with clear skies and new moon. I shot a better astro sequence in Queenstown tho. It’ll be in the next part.
Thanks! I usually travel with other photographers so they don't mind, but it's nice to do exactly what you want travelling solo haha. Man everything from deciding where to eat to navigating solo haha
When a creative person can Film, Vlog, Fly drone and edit all of those videos - This is a masterpiece. Had amazing feeling and inspiration while watching your video. One of the best vlogs which I have seen latetly. You are amazing bro! Love it! Thanks!
After watching that video, one of my favourite destinations I would like to travel in the future is New Zealand :D One of the greatest videos on YT. Keep up the great work man, it was simply a joy to watch.
Your art is so beautiful the tones you use are stunning. 😍What a dream it'd be to roam around Aotearoa doing photography. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.
So rad to see you back out on the road Itchy, we’ll have to hit up Matt for another itchyrichyjoez soon! You captured this is such a beautiful way, encouraging all of us to keep seeking new adventures ❤️✨
youtube recommended this while i'm at work and now i'm planning a solo trip this weekend! Thankyou for inspiring me. i always want to go solo road trip. You've got a new subscriber man and we are waiting for more like this!
Just got back from our own NZ trip. Did both islands and close to 2500 on both. Loved the Milford Sound trip and drove all the way through to Christchurch! Amazing scenery all throughout!
How nice is that drive into Milford hey. I was a bit wrecked from all the driving the first time there tho haha. I drove from Christchurch > Milford > Te Anau and then back to milford the next morning.
@@Itchban Man that was so aweseome! We flew into Queenstown and drove to Milford Sound and back and then to Christchurch the next day. Original plan was to fly to Christchurch but we scrapped that because the scenery was so nice driving up the mountains! Also this gave us the opportunity to visit lakes Pukaki and Tekapo. So many gorgeous lakes in both islands!
Thanks for hanging around! I wish I could more easily shoot and edit these series but they take a bit of time. I have New York and 2 months in Japan coming up real soon though!!
This video is awesome. I find these videos super interesting. You’ve got some amazing footage too. I’ve got to visit New Zealand some day. We’ve literally just started our own Vlog chronicling our journeys as an oasis tribute with a difference. Should be a fun journey. You’ve got yourself a new subscriber for sure.
So stunning, the visuals and photography. Everything we need in tourism. I subscribed. BTW I have a yellow Suzuki too. They are great for going to the mall because you can spot it right away.
Great work - local myself so recognise nearly everything and have been most of those places too. I used a Ford Focus myself on a big trip, up logging trails etc and parking among giant 4WD rigs haha; people.. you'll be amazed how far you can go with careful driving, not surprised your car got the places it did :)
@@Itchban Oh yeah, forget GMaps, NZTopo50 app is king and can go offline. You'll find routes to great photog locations. Look forward to the next vlog project! :)
Love this type of content so much. Your choice of music is so good in all your vlogs it just absolutely nails the vibe of the footage and brings it all together
How do you get those vertical shots of you driving away in the distance?? This is insane photography wow I'm so impressed I hope you had a great time in New Zealand!! :)
Love this series already. It made me look back at photos I took in NZ when I went in 2015 and realize how much I've grown as a photographer. Good stuff! Hope to see more. My favorite part was by far the FPV sequence, that was epic. Also, although you initially booked the 4WD, this yellow car did stand out in the shots.
Thanks for watching! Cool glad you liked the drone sequence - I just started FPV and need to improve A LOT still. Haha the colour was super bright but was mostly annoyed because a 4WD would have allowed me to drive to different places. The Swift's ride height was quite low esp for dirt roads.
@@Itchban That's great FPV work then tho'. I bet it must be a little easier to pick up if you've already been flying other drones, no? Also, did you actually get charged less for the Swift then?
Nah full manual FPV flight is nothing like flying a regular style drone. The learning curve is pretty steep tbh. So apparently the sports (turbo) swift is a class of car higher than the one I booked so no refund or extra charges. TBH it was pretty fun to drive and powerful enough for a lot of the windy roads I drove on. Only downside was it couldn't really do a lot of the gravel roads easily.
@@Itchban I think you'll enjoy both! Death Stranding has it's action points, but it's also very atmospheric! It's like going for a drive, but with legs and 120kg luggage (˶• ֊ •˶)
Embarking on my first solo trip in 2 weeks, a 1000km road trip around the Austrian and Italian Alps for a week. Thanks for sharing this vid! It's given me the ideas I've been looking for to document that trip😌
I use to drive tour coaches on the Christchurch - Aoraki / Mount Cook - Queenstown - Milford Sound route. I loved the job and the driving was always great. Seeing Mt Aoraki was a 50/50 deal due to weather so you lucked out. Great shots at the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Yeah totally. It was fully clear the 2 days I was there and then on the third day I went to do hooker valley it was cloudy. But by the time I drove to the track it cleared up haha. I was lucky.
Stunning video! You captured everything so beautifully. Totally different from up here in the North island. FPV is the dream for us ... One day! We'll keep learning with the mavic mini for now 😆
