I just did a ceramic maintenance wash on this vehicle. The ceramic coating was done about a year and a half ago. Ceramic coatings are best done out of direct sun yes.
Hey brother I used to watch your videos when I was reviewing pomade. Small world. Unfortunately I’m not man I’m in Fresno but I would recommend that you hit up josh at Detail Green. I believe he’s in Carlsbad.
@@StaySlick Hey thank you ! that means a lot ! oh ok I understand I was looking at your work and really like your detailing, Its hard to find someone around here I live in the LA county area out in the desert, Thanx for the info brother.
Hey how has your experience been using touchless in a pump sprayer instead of a foam cannon? Do you get the same results? I thought that was a really good idea btw!
What model step stool is that you’re using? I use a Home Depot one that isn’t quite tall enough as I drive a lifted truck and I’m short. That seems like it would be perfect.
Crystal serum light is a 9H 3-5 year ceramic coating. Of course it’s going to withstand decon. Remember these videos I make are topics I’m educated on. I would never do something I wasn’t skilled on when it comes to a customers $50k car.
@@StaySlick My point was, I get it that the coating survived but the viewer is only seeing the final characteristics of the touchless sealant you added toward the end, not the true coating itself. That's why coatings are over-hyped IMO. You have to painstakingly "maintain them" all the time and that's not what coating companies have you believe.
@@Tundra_Guy to be honest, you don’t have to maintain them at all but if you want them to last as long as possible, it makes sense to maintain it at least twice a year. I would definitely say that coatings are worth it.
Great video as always G! Just recently found out that there is a 3D shop here in my city! No more Chemical Guys for me! Question boss, so from my understanding about the iron decon its safe to use on a ceramic coated vehicle? I've heard many detailers say that it will break down the protective coating. Again great video as always. My apologies for my ignorance.
Thank you brother and not a problem. I’ve done this quite a few times and also been told there is no issues with doing this step as long as are smart with how we do it ( dwell time, not in direct sunlight.
Gary I would recommend you to use some kind of protection when using chemicals Like a face mask and fully enclosed goggles for your eyes Yes, it may affect you on the long run that invisible mist to your lungs and eye sight Invest on a good face mask for that specific chemicals that you use Great video as always
Hey G, Thank you so much for this awesome video, I always learn a lot from you and I really enjoy hearing your through process as you go through your details, because it makes sense on why you perform each step, again so helpful. Question, do you feel the mirror finish is enough as far as sealants go? I always feel like I need to physically apply and wipe off some kind of topper like Armor Shield Lite for example. Will the mirror finish be as effective? Thanks so much!
Thank you brother I’m glad to help. Honestly you can’t go wrong with spray on rinse off sealants as long as you reapply monthly. That way they never have a chance to break down. I would recommend touchless or DIY detail quick beads
Didn’t know I should be doing this kind of maintenance every quarter. Wife’s Tahoe got coated in August so I guess it’s getting close to doing this. Been coating it once a month with the Touchless. Appreciate the knowledge.
How long is the protection on the spray and seal from magic? I use the sonax spray and seal but sometimes it leaves streaks on the paint looking to try something different
