You mentioned the argument of using the trimmer vertical as an edger. While that's what I do as it's all I have (that's why I'm here haha) they are different tools for different parts of the job.The edger is used to set the edge and clean it up every few months and the trimmer is then for trimming it regularly. You can use the trimmer to do that too but it takes time more effort since the string wasn't designed for digging dirt like a blade.
@@allanmowz Ran a crew for another company and the trimmer guy hit people with debris from using it as an edger, (1. He should have watched for people around him. 2. Insurance companies aren't happy when you file a claim for something that is avoidable.) Not an argument just pointing out I don't like using the trimmer like that. Also for a few hundred dollars people can get the rotary blade head to trim and edge reducing flying debris. If you only have a trimmer, then that's how you work. I'd rather reduce the chance of injury from past experience and showing attachments that are available and if it was a good purchase or not.
When buying a combi, I opted for the Husqvarna 535LK, excellent machine, but the attachments have got progressively more expensive. The brush is now £500! The weed scissors this year, are now £479. As a sole trader, I am now priced out of the market!!! Great equipment, but far too expensive now for me!!😢
Hello, nice video. im just a kid starting a small business, but for what i know, maybe change the edger blade( i cant see correctly like if its time to change it now but looks used), i changed mine not so long ago, and didnt even think about how necassary it was to change it, when the edger blade is very small like yours/used alot, its time to change it. and the chain thing on the string trimer, i have heard its very dangerous because no company that you can trust really makes them. Cheers!
Good eyes, yes the edger blade needs to be changed. That's just from using it this spring. The chain brush attachment, I assume the risk and use it as safely as possible, (facing away from buildings and people). It throws debris around as much as other brush cutter blades or just a regular string trimmer in the wrong hands, (Like those people that side discharge lawn clippings into the road as cars drive by).
Can you please do a video on the cultivator? Im thinking about getting it but i dont know how well it does/digs on a lawn with dirt and grass(like its hard) and just generally if its good and works well
That's a good video idea, need time I use the cultivator I'll make a video, but I did a belief video using the cultivator with the KMA battery power head, breaking up dirt clogs before spreading grass seed. To answer how well it does, hard soil, you have to really push against the machine to start digging, since the tines have little weight over them. If you turn the hard soil over with a spade fork or shovel then use the cultivator, it can dig and fluff the soil. It's best for vegetable gardens, seasonal color planting areas or areas that are not hard or compacted. Old gym weights with the center holes could improve the digging by getting weight over the tines to dig better, but the downside is the added weight to carry around.
