O pessoal aq ta surtando pq a mãe dela so “falou mal” do Brasil.

A gente nao foge do destino, vim p/ ca p/ proteger meus filhos, e Joanna resolveu voltar e foi baleada dentro do carro no Maracana. No Rio nao tem lugar seguro e e dessa realised q eu vivi q eu falo, e q nao me orgulho.
@brunetteambition888
@brunetteambition888 4 года назад

This was very uplifting to watch. My mom came to the USA from Germany with my dad (who is from the USA and was stationed in Germany through the military at the time). Over 20 years later and even though they aren’t together anymore, she’s made a life for herself here and I can only imagine how hard it was for her to come to a new country and not understanding the language, among other issues she had. She has told me many stories about how much she was judged and looked at funny because she couldn’t even speak English. Now she can speak English, her first language (German), and she’s currently learning Spanish! Anyways, I’m so proud of her, and I’m happy you shared your story!

i'm gonna share my migration-story as well. i moved to france from spain when i was 11 (i'm 19 now) because of the subprimes crisis, my father couldn't find a job. it was very hard, specially to my mother who still misses her country a lot. but i personally learnt that forcing yourself to dive into ur fears is the best thing you can do. sometimes things go very wrong, and sometimes surprisingly well, but in none of this cases you regret what you've lived cause it builds you UP. change is a thing you can count on, despite the hard times, you grow through your actions. don't feel pressured by ppl experiences, everyone has flaws and everyone has his own pace and way of evolution. i am personally moving to denmark at the end of summer, and I'M SHITTING MYSELF like, really, but you know what ? not everybody has the chance to change. changing your mindset is the key, but dont stop at that, keep up with the small but confident steps. this woman is amazing, she helped me out, and she's the living proof that life may not be fair & easy, but that is no excuse to stop anyone of us. love to y'all

This is sad, I felt so bad about the things she said about our country. When she said she doesn't trust people when they say Brasil had changed isso mostra quão irracional ela é a respeito do país, ela só queria odiar e ponto, dá para ver quão mal isso fez/faz para ela.

When Jo’s mom said she couldn’t cry in front of her kids... my mom also confessed she would go to the nearest park to cry. But she made it through; she became a nurses assistant and bought her dream home and saw all 5 of her kids go to college. We came to Canada from Brazil , The only difference is we came legally, but it was really hard. I am doing it actually so my kids can have a better life. We can only appreciate whatever our parents do for us when we are in their shoes. It is hard being in a different country and starting it all over. But seeing them growing up here, it makes it all worth it. I loved the video! ❤️

Wow your mom actually made me cry, she's spreading such a beautiful message. On a hole other topic, I wanted to ask to all the hispanic people out there if they had any Spanish channels to recommend ? I'm learning Spanish and I would like to start "listening" more to this language so that it get's more and more natural, but I don't really know where to start.

I love living in Brazil. It's not like she said all the time and everywhere. I don't walk afraid of being shot in the streets because where i live these kind of thing don't happen. Although sometimes i'm afraid of being robbed. But i really understand her trauma. Living in Rio, with 3 black kids, it's not easy

This was utterly beautiful! What your mom explains about wanting a better life for you is what so many mothers want. She was one of the lucky and blessed ones who was able to make a life here. I kind of was hoping that she would say that she is ready to go back home now to enjoy time with her family but if she feels happy here in the US that's all that matters. Hugs from Haiti:)

This is so so so lovely. Thanks for letting your mom tell us her story, Jo. I'm also the daughter of an immigrant and I've asked her about her life before she came to the States, met my dad, and had me and my brother. Ask your parents about their lives, and ask your grandparents too. Everyone has a story. Ask them especially about historical events they were around for and how they felt and what they experienced. Also, I travel full-time now and my mother is so proud (and tags along with me whenever possible). So happy you're living your dream!

WOW Denise... Meu sonho é Shut up and go, that simple. but that phase comes to me and makes me thing non-stop. Shut up and go just seem to be a simple phrase, but every person in this world has your own kinds of troubles and challenges in life and have to solve them or be fierce enough to pretend you're going to solve them to actually shut and go... that added to the various political, geographic, and monetary aspects of each country. it's too much. I like the phrase as far as it inspires movement, action of those who really want a new reality for themselves as human beings. but it does not satisfactorily contemplate the a lot of people in the world, because really only some will be able to realize the dream of traveling as a lifestyle or the simple travel to a farway city in there own country. Não deixa de ser uma crítica, mas não quer dizer que eu não ame a ideia de Shut up and go
