How beautiful does the Asking Alexandria live video from 2013 look from my channel in an interview with Danny Worsnop❤. Although you didn't give me the credits for the live video, everything was fine, thanks anyway xD.
This interview was awesome! A lot of info sbout Danny's perception of being and grown as a singer, and I'm so glad to know that Danny decided take leassons to get better and stop hurting himself in the scream parts. Thank you for this video! 🔥🔥🔥
He didn’t say he despised them, he said it’s hard to listen to them because he can hear his “flaws” and it brings up times when he was into drugs and negativity. Just like how we all cringe looking back at some of our past. It’s a learning lesson and I’m sure he’s grateful for the experiences as it shaped who he is today
@@braedenbillon6207 This isn't the only time he's spoke on AA's old days. He's literally said in his own words on a Instagram live one time that he "Hates" their first two albums.
@@SFutureReacts they were definitely more of an immature sound based around more drugs and a reckless lifestyle. I’m sure he has feelings and memories from that time that are hard for him.
He does not despise them because he has said that they are important in his life, but they are the memories of how he ruined his voice for not having the correct technique. 😕
Parents back then would've been like well Danny's gonna do it anyway and it's this weird new screamy thing that's popular so if he becomes successful in any regard have at it
It's crazy to me that Danny put together two of the most iconic/influential metalcore era albums of all time on an absolute whim with zero training or technique. The man was truly born to do this and while I'm a huge fan of his, I wish he took that more seriously. SUAS is more favorite album of all time, hands down. These were phenomenal questions and some I've not heard him answer before.
@@REgamerPROhe still can do it, and probably better than ever… He just choses not to do it anymore or choses to filter it out from the mix. Both Dark Void and Bad Blood have a super low growl that's brutal as hell intertwined with a high scream, however, it kinda gets buried underneath the mix. Vocally, I'd say he's in his prime
@@higashikatajosuke5704false. He fucked his voice up on the R&R tour cycle. Those highs and lows (even though still good) ain’t shit on what he had back then. He won’t ever get that quality back.
The first two albums sound like “nails on a chalkboard”? Really?! Those were two of the best albums to ever be released into the post hardcore scene. Not to mention he was the best screamer in the business, regardless of whether he knew what he was doing or not. The latest albums he’s put out have been mediocre at best, no idea why he holds them in such high regard. His best days have passed. Lead vocalists of metal bands would kill to have his range. He possesses an enviable gift and instead of using it, he despises it. I love Danny, but I really hate him at the same time.
It's not that he has a gift and won't use it. He just can't do it anymore.. He did it improperly for so many years that he's absolutely fucked it. He's gifted as a singer, and he's really good at lows, but as for the fry screams, highs and others in the mid range, he says he just can't do it, because it hurts. But he is learning again, so maybe if he learns to scream properly, we might get a few glimpses of their earlier stuff here and there.
Bro well said bang on. Fair enough if he hates heavy music now whatever, but to deny how good his vocals were is absurd. It’s like he’s in full refusal to accept or acknowledge what made him, at all. Atp band should change their name.
@@shona5512 Check out videos from their recent tour, they added a good amount of old music to the setlist and he pulled it off pretty well. Definitely not the same sound as before, but he’s been taking vocal lessons to reduce the strain on his voice so he can now actually finish a tour without destroying his voice.
Dandy has this thing where he thinks that everyone wants to force him to scream like no. It’s not the screaming that I crave it’s the metalcore sound I crave. He could have let the band go a killswitch route where it’s mostly cleans but chugging and double pedals instrumentally
his voice on the first two records is absolutely amazing, sad to hear his perspective on it. hopefully he grows to appreciate it and the impact those albums had on metalcore.
I personally love it as I’m sure many of us do, but if you look through his perspective, he’s hearing a rough beginning and years of poor technique hurting his voice, so it makes sense that it’s hard for him to hear now
Okay, compliment for the interview questions: I did not know this band, but I stuck with the video because I was super interested in what he had to say about doing vocals. Most interviews are about songwriting, musical influences, next release and questions "around" the band, which is important, but a lot of interviews are all the same and very boring because of that. In my opinion, there are not neeeeeeeeearly enough interviews in which guitarists or singers get to answer questions in detail about their craft and related struggles and progress, how much work they put into it, what they are working on exactly etc. A lot of metal fans are musicians themselves, so I bet this type of content is interesting for a lot of people. I am a singer, too, and when he said that he didn't sing metal in his private life and had to prepare differently for rock/metal, I could relate to this soooooooo much because changing vocal styles is SUCH a tough thing! Great interview! :)
Thanks! We have gotten very good feedback from all the vocalists almost involved in the video series so it feels that this type of interview is very good also from vocalists point of view. 😊👍
I mean im not really into metalcore but their old stuff is still way better. They have energy and spirit. Their new stuff just sounds like fallout boy or something. Nothing there to stick
I think they are all good. They're just different and not easily comparable. I've been listening since stand up and scream and as I'm getting older I prefer the newer stuff they do.
So sad how he not only hates making metal now BUT even now thinks his vocals on the first few albums sucked? They were amazing and literally the overwhelming majority of people would agree, he was such a vocal inspiration for many. Fair enough if he hates screaming now but to now say that his vocals sucked? It just goes from bad to worse 😢 RIP AA.
I’ve never been a fan of country and even though I didn’t like his first solo album, his 2nd album “Shades Of Blue” was phenomenal. I’ve listened to that album so much and really made me appreciate that talent that Danny has in his voice.
Have you actually listened to the first 3 albums of AA…. The whole lyrical point of view was that they intentionally ignored all caution, warning, lessons, and beyond… They were giving Ozzy a run for his money…
The biggest thing for me is; Id probably like new AA more if I didn't grow up on old AA. To even correlate them together is bananas. They're not the same band. Which is fine. Their new music is still good. Danny's singing now is best its ever been. I just love SUAS and RR era.
That's honestly a super logical take. Had they blown up w FDTD or The self titled I think alot more people would be able to appreciate them as they are now. But when you're coming off SUAS and RR(two of the most influential metalcore albums) with Danny in his prime *metalcore* years, it's hard to see it as the same band lol
He isnt even a metal artist anymore. I personally enjoyed asking alexandria way vetter once he left, they got heavier and had more harsh vocals sticking to their sound. Once he cameback he had one album that was decent after that he went to his soft rock shit and changed the bands sound.
You mean he grew up and evolved...just like oli syked did with bring me the horizon or ronnie radke from falling in reverse, nobody deepdown wants the scream stuff anymore that era died
I swear to God, I know this guy in Austell Georgia named Nick Taylor that looks exactly like Danny Worsnop, Beard and everything… while at work I kept calling him Danny in an English accent the way Ben would call him… I’m like “Danny!!!! Danny?!!!!” And he’s like , Who the F is that… then one day I showed him a picture of Danny and he was like… Yep, that’s me… 🤣🤣🤣
Very fascinating to hear him describe the vocal technique in the early years and how much he’s changed. Keep on growing Danny. I’m here for the ride and for whatever is next
My wife and I constantly argue over whos better, Danny Worsnop or Ronnie Radke. Nothing anyone or anything ever says or does will change this for me, Danny is the greatest. Fucking love this man
I love how even though he’s definitely leaned into being a red state rocker he still hasn’t lost all of the British in his voice. It still comes through here and there
Its great to see this guy all grown up, and level headed. I didn't think I would see this when the band was dick deep in puss, and vomiting their guts out every night from drinking and partying. There was a point where I was really worried about Danny, Ben, and the rest of the guys. I remember when they went on that program with Ultimate Warrior, and he gave them the ultimatum, and they seemed like arrogant young men. It turns out there was a lot more to them than that. I'm very happy about how they turned out as a fan of the band since 2009.
It wouldn't surprise me if they released this album as a compilation of everything they've ever done and then broke up. Ben has a bunch of Kids now, Danny doesn't seem into it at all, and the other guys want heavier music. They're on different pages and i dont blame them for not wanting ANOTHER singer switch even though its probably necessary. Ben once said Asking would have died a slow and painful death, and I think we are all watching it.
Probably shouldve broken up after From Death to Destiny, after that its been a slow crawl (imo) into mediocrity and them as people becoming more and more disinterested in the band.
I wouldn’t consider him metal artist anymore but the first 2 albums was highly great in my opinion. But after that I stop listening to them with there new stuff and could highly careless but I am glade there still successful.
Quién diria que Danny gritaba tan bien y lo hacia sin técnica tan solo porque lo podia hacer y ya, gran trabajo los de la entrevista lanzaron datos que seguramente muchos queriamos saber
They should have kept denis and not go back to dany. I‘m sorry to say that but the person who made this Band so great destroys it by the lack of professional behavior. The music is good, but should not be called Asking Alexandria. This name died back in 2017
Should of never come back to asking. Lost there identity when he came back for him to hate on the albums that made him he is so naive! Such a shame he clearly doesn’t want to be in a metal band 🤷🏽♂️
So to add one to the last comment abput the 3 albums when asking was out i was 16 to 17 and i think reckless ant relentless was put and the reason i hold onto these so much is yah it was metalcore but it was brutal and capruted when we all felt iinside that we wanted to get out from roaring guitars to pounding double bass pedal and a scream more feirce then what felt like the devil himself and to this day h still delivers on power vocals with a rasp grit and sould that not alot of singers can capture
@@xer9883 danny is getting back into screaming and not hurting his throat doing it, it might not be the same as their first 3 albums but im geussing theyll lean harder towards metalcore than the rock side
@@szilardgurbai3190 He was embarrassed having the words "fuck this" on his knuckles when in public. He got the tattoo as a teenager, he just grew up and realized it was a stupid idea. I wanted to get "Nice Tits" on mine. Thank fucking God I didn't lol
So funny how many people are butthurt cuz a vocalist likes his new stuff more than the old stuff he did. Why should he like the old stuff more than the new stuff?? He is a rock guy. If he thinks the rock stuff sounds better than it is what it is. I like the third album the most, but I'm not butthurt like the rest here haha
There is my group that doesn't listen to anything after the 2nd album and then there are the weirdos that like their new shit. 2 completely different bands. P.s. Danny is literally insane
Just because lot lf people likes the new stuff doesn't mean they're weirdos. You're the weird one here for not letting go that emo fringe hair, stupid eyeliners and the crab core bs.
