I have a 250 GTE from '61 and that year, it was the single most expensive sports car to insure in Europe, despite it being a 2+2. Another example is a Lusso V12 vs. a 488 Spider. The Lusso carries the higher insurance rate in both the US and Europe. Just some interesting facts.

He is unlike so many others, completely honest about not knowing a damn thing, which is a lot more than can be said for all the keyboard commandos. An interesting thing is that he owns a pretty rare car that is insanely fun to drive. I own one of these in the slightly more powerful S version, and it is one of my all time favorite cars. Mind you, I do have some pretty significant basis for comparison. What cars do you own and drive? What makes you an aficionado, and what gives you the right to trash a guy who is completely open and honest about not being a hardcore car guy? This guy drives a car that gives him a very direct insight into what makes for a great spirts car and a great drivers car. That is more than can be said for all the keyboard warriors out there.

Yes, customer cars is a different subject, but there's a difference between sitting in a car that is a customer car, and lightly touching it. My 250 GTE sat as an exhibition piece all last summer and fall at my dealer during the Roma launch. It was locked, but other than that, anyone could get up close - which I think was great. They kept it clean and wiped it down after each day. I hope people enjoyed seeing it. These are cars, and what a finger can do is nothing compared to the elements. If you have something very special, like an original Cobra or the like, rope it in or put it under a cover if you don't want any contact. A modern Lambo? Meh, plenty of those so who cares about him having a look.

@@AB-80X no of course not I'm to broke to drive something fancy, but I just dont like electric cars still, they look nice and theoretically have fewer parts= less maintenance, but I'm waiting for them to become more available and more reliable.

@@MrFujin If you ever get the chance, do it. I bought mine new back in 2012 when prices were just MSRP. It's one of the cars I will never part with. It is properly good, and shows that EV can be fun. Build quality is pretty poor though lol.
