I expect the attraction is that they are fun to shoot and reasonably economical to shoot as well, especially if you do most shooting at under 100 yard range.
Because it is a force and accuracy multipler of a handgun ... aslo offers redundancy of a handgun...and if you have a boat load of ammo it offers good range to a hundred yards... well that's why I have a carbine anyway... 🤷♂️
