So many design and color options! My wife actually has a bright metallic blue behind the ear style. The audiologist was so excited when she chose that color. He said everyone seems to want them to blend in, but he liked that she was using them as a statement piece.

It’s so nice to see that aids for conditions are getting more stylish. Like I’m disabled and now I have something that looks kinda cute. I have compression knee highs that are purple and have a lace top so they’re kinda sexy! As well as a black pair with a diamond design.

I'm not hearing-impaired, but I am a musician, and I recently splurged on custom-molded in-ear monitors (fancy earphones). They made a huge difference for me, and I hope these do the same for you. FWIW, mine are transparent blue on the left and transparent red on the right, which makes it easy to tell the sides apart.

That's so cool. The ones that are totally in the bowl of your ear look like normal earbuds. The others are very subtle. My sister got a hearing aid recently and I didn't notice until she pointed it out. It's really very cool. Plus Bluetooth connectivity is pretty sweet! I had a student with cochlear implants who could use them for listening to music via Bluetooth. It makes so much sense to be able to do that and not have to put on separate headphones, thus losing the utility of the hearing aid whenever you want to listen to music. My poor dad has hearing aids, but hardly uses them because he has a lot of ear wax, so he ends up messing them up all the time... I'm concerned I'll meet the same fate someday, lol. Hopefully there will be better, safe methods of handling earwax by then!

My mum's hearing aids are Bluetooth enabled, so she can listen to music or take a phone call through them. She can also adjust what she hears, like which direction she can hear sounds from or reducing background noise. Basically, she has bionic ears 😆

The ones with the finer wires are very you and almost look like jewelery from farther away but from a practical standpoint I'd be worried about the wire breaking. If it were me choosing I'd go with the thicker wire ones as they balance pretty and practical quite well.

CICs are life-changing for people with severe hearing loss who are used to BTEs! BTEs always get knocked out so easily because everything catches on the tubes & you can't do any pirouettes in ballet class without worrying that they're going to come out. I got my first CICs about 14? years ago & haven't looked back. 😊👍

When my 18 yo was little she had hearing aids and used to pull them out and eat them if we weren't careful. She wore little bonnets to hold them in place for a long time. Then, weirdly, her hearing improved (delayed myelination had caught up finally) and she stopped needing them.

I have an 89 year old grandmother who refuses to get the hearing aids that she needs. She says it will make her look old. I wish that she knew that this wasn't the case. She misses so much conversation in everyday life, I can't imagine. If I needed hearing aids, I would have gotten a pair yesterday. I'm too nosey not to! Lol 😂 I just wish that I could convince her that the hearing aids that she is thinking of are not the hearing aids of today. Anyway, I love you and your content so much. ❤❤❤❤

Perhaps because I’ve not lost all frequencies I can’t use aids that occlude my ear as I find having all sound filtered through the aid disorienting. But that’s why there are many styles! I hope these work great for you! Serious Q… how often do you get your earwax removed? I find that is my biggest problem with wearing aids is extra wax buildup. ❤ thx ciao

This would be so nice for regular earbuds/airpods for parents and relatives of toddlers, I swear how can a tiny little toddler hand and fingers that aren’t even that developed in fine motor control, can just snatch my earbud right out my ear like they’re channeling Bruce Lee to demonstrate how easy it is to get grandma’s earbuds, sometimes I wear Apple earbuds, but my 23mo granddaughter has snatched my Raycons earbuds out my ears before too 😳💀🤣 good luck with your beautiful toddler, it’s an exhausting stage of life because they’re developing so fast and they want to do everything possible to do in a lifetime, just squeezed into 24hrs 😂, but they’re so adorable and precious to watch them learning new things and especially that toddler giggle 🥰🤗🥰

New hardware can be life changing! .. my mom eventually ended up getting CI and it was an entertaining adventure in explaining what she was hearing.. 😂 like insisting there was something wrong with the car.. because she hadn’t heard enough of the sound before.. she didn’t want to believe us when we swore it was the same.. lol The biggest one was we had to watch it when we were talking 😅 she “heard that!!” Far more often 😂😂 I’m just glad I was already an adult by then, otherwise my teenage years would have been much more difficult 😂😂😂 It’s been really nice to have her feel better about being able to hear in a crowded room or feel more included.. nobody was excluding her, it was just the bad side effects of her situation.. so, it’s much better now.. Also, no more tiny batteries everywhere or little sticker tags 😝.. although, I periodically re attach the tiny hair clip back to the unit for her.. that’s like 1 time a year👍😬 ..not dozens of expensive tiny clutter a month 🙄

Personally I prefer BTE for me even though the space gets crowded with my glasses and headscarf or hat but I prefer hearing aids that look like hearing aids so people understand what I mean when I indicate to them. I find the CIC to be too similar looking to ear buds for music listening and people might be rude ask you take them out always having to explain. That’s just me though.

I've been interpreting for a loooooong time. Here're a few ideas: - Know the differences among words that have similar but not exactly the same meaninge. Example... 'run' .... depending on how the person signs it, the best English word could be... Sprint, jog, lope, dash, etc. Know how to say the same thing in two completely different ways with completely different words.

"Deaf" is only non-inclusive as it can feel like it isn't taking people who are hard of hearing into account. If you are merely describing a singular person who is deaf, the term "deaf" is fine. When it comes to generally speaking about the broad group, it's generally preferred to say "deaf and/or hard of hearing" (or HoH)
