One of the most common questions I receive is from Christian parents who want to know which resources to use to equip their kids to think biblically in our secular culture. In this video, I offer my top 10 resources for kids in elementary and middle school.

Foundation Worldview, the first resource you provided, has a podcast with Elizabeth Urbanowicz that runs approximately 15-20 min/podcast whereby she answers questions to equip those caring for children to teach kids how to “carefully evaluate every idea they encounter so that why can understand the truth of the Christian worldview”. It is so well done and very helpful!

Thank you, Alisa! I have two kids for whom I am a surrogate “Gramma” and they need help with reading and, since they are Vietnamese, their parents don’t know Jesus, but have no problem with me teaching them about Him. I have been praying for help in selecting books I can read to the younger child. He needs help with reading and I can see how these books would serve a dual purpose!

The Thinking Toolbox absolutely is written from a Christian worldview, along with its complementary book The Fallacy Detective (in which that worldview is declared). The Bluedorn brothers, who wrote it, come from a Christian homeschooling family who produce materials for a classical Christian education. Sadly, one of the brothers has since walked away from the faith, but the books are still very helpful and fill a special niche.

This makes me want to homeschool again. I wish that these were around when I was homeschooling many many moons ago. I can't wait until the video for Christian world view for older kids and adults. I keep in feeling a tug for discipling young gals maybe 16-into their early 20's.

I appreciate this list. Could you please do the same for high school level? I’m teaching 15 year olds, and I’ve struggled with finding appropriate aged material for apologetics, that is not too juvenile and not too advanced for a one hour a week class. Thanks!

This was an excellent video Alissa and for me very timely. Yesterday I went with my adult daughter to see the new Barbie movie. I had misgivings about the film, however my daughter really wanted to check it out so we went together. Alisa the movie was not good. I knew the director and creative team came from a feminist background, but I did not expect the male bashing and mocking from the beginning of the movie to the end. There were several young girls in the theater and it seems clear that the entertainment industry has an agenda and worldview to promote to children. I am so glad that you will be offering suggestions for good resources for children and their parents. This is really needed.

Your suggestions were really helpful. I also like the books written for children by Lee Strobel. Marty Machowski has other good books too. I recommend books by Trillia Newbell as well.

The Biggest Story Bible by Crossway is also great. My 6yo daughter loves it before bedtime and she even reads it on her own when she wakes up in the morning. Thanks for these resources Alisa.

Little Pilgrims Progress is an amazing read and great pictures. It has really helped our son who is visual understand the Christian walk

Reviewers on Amazon repeatedly say that The Thinking Toolbox is Christian. These are folks saying that if they realized that it was a Christian book mentioning God and taking a conservative Christian stance in examples of arguments regarding abortion and creation that they wouldn’t have bought it.

Jesus/Yahweh killed 42 children - just for teasing a grown man. 2 Kings 2:23-24 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. LOL

Based on the word used in the original text, those were young adults, but not married yet. Also, they had been warned. Have a nice day!
