I've been getting into more funeral doom this year. I've gotten into Esoteric, Evoken, Thergothon, and Pantheist. I want to check out Skepticism and Mournful Congregation soon, especially Skepticism since they have a new album coming out next week.
Very solid list! Esoteric and Evoken are fantastic, but I unfortunately have not listened to the two albums you mentioned yet. I also need to check out that V Oceans album, which is a new one for me. My picks: 1. Stormcrowfleet (Skepticism) 2. The Call Of The Wretched Sea (Ahab) 3. Aes (Skepticism) 4. Lead And Aether (Skepticism) 5. Farmakon (Skepticism) 6. Celaenus Fragments (Fungoid Stream) 7. Amartia (Pantheist) 8. Stream From The Heavens (Thergothon) 9. The Divinity Of Oceans (Ahab) 10. When All The Laughter Has Gone (Dolorian) Yeah, I like Skepticism a lot lol. And Ahab's COTWS was my entry point into the genre as well. I was immediately hooked the first time I heard it and I still adore it 9 years later. It's immense atmosphere always captivates my imagination and drags me into the black abyss of the ocean :)
Great job, mate - personally I don't like separating Funeral Doom from the general Doom umbrella but Evoken is the band I most often reach to from the really slow Doom bands
I’d have to throw HellLight into the conversation. Their newest release might be their best yet. Love how they incorporate some clean vocals into certain songs… they are done very tastefully.
Good video but you forgot about Tyranny & EA . Also, i think that the best Evoken record is a caress of the void . I still doesn't get it why people like ahab !
I dont like doing the List-Thing by myself, and to reduce me on ten. Im not good at that, always miss a Lot.
