Dissection Storm of the lights bane. Its my favorite album of all time. Its often on black metal, death metal and melodic death metal lists because its genre spanning tapestry but that's probably why. For a black heart can only find beauty in darkness
People might sheet on the man behind the music (Varg), but you can't deny that Bvrzvm created some of the greatest masterpieces in metal history. He is the Beethoven/Mozart of the metal world and the cold production is perfect.🐺
For me it was something off of Emperor's "In The Nightside Eclipse" I remember my friend giving me a Metal magazine that came with a free cassette of extreme metal songs in like '98 when I was about 16. And the first time I heard it, it sounded so terrifying that I had to listen again and again until I fell in love and the rest is history.

Peste Noire is one of those bands that are crazy when you research them but i love their album L'ordure à l'état pur, so different and weird and interesting and not traditional in many ways, Mgla's two mose recent albums are absolute slappers, burzum's the fallen i find to also be really good and enjoyable
Famine is an absolutely despicable human being, but black metal is filled with terrible people who have made great music. I love KPN's non-nazi material, but youll never catch me wearing their merch lol

Darkthrone. Most overrated BM band. Good and important fpr the time. But there are a million bands who do darkthrone better. Everytime i listen any of their famous trilogy, i find myself bored and feeling just meh about it.
