Great list man. You could put a lot of these in any order but Matzek’s 7th inning will always be my number one. Felt like the Dodgers/playoff demon was exorcised in that moment. Go Braves!
Matzek K’ing the side was the curse breaker. It removed all doubt that this team was different. Sometimes it takes a superhuman individual performance to break a curse, and Matzek put the entire southeast baseball fan base on his back. The home runs were amazing don’t get me wrong, but defense and pitching sets a different tone on the field. Like “oh shit we can’t beat these guys.”
I just love Soler’s 3 run home run man! Wish I was actually there but most of Georgia would be sitting on the couch and watching that ball fly out of the stadium.
I would definitely put Soler's monster homer at #1, if for no other reason than it was the WS-winning hit, essentially. Duval's GS was a fantastic moment but in the grand scheme it didn't mean much since the Braves wound up losing that game.
@@christian.edland True. I really wish the Braves could've closed it out at home, if for no other reason than the crowd noise would've been out of this world.
@@christian.edland Everybody KNEW the game was over. Honestly I feel kind of bad for Duvall because that would have been a legendary moment if it wasnt tainted by the loss.
Yeah it was tough a loss after such a promising start. it was the second bullpen game since Morton was out and they played the long game keeping the starters rested. It payed off with Fried's 💎
Man I can't even really say what my favorite moments were because there's just so many of them. I think Matzeks 7th inning and Rosario's go ahead three run bomb were probably the most electric I have heard the stadium be. Matzeks 7th probably takes the Cake. Before that happened I think we were all thinking that was the end of it and time for heartbreak again. We blew a three to one lead last year so here it goes again right? The electrician said no and shut the door with the most clutch relief performance in postseason history and you can't change my mind. It's like that when we realized we were winning the whole thing and no one was stopping us.
Thanks for putting Duvall’s grand slam first. It doesn’t get the love and attention it deserves because we ended up losing that night, but to me, it still beats Soler’s over-the-tracks run. What a moment for fans at Truist! So many said the stadium was shaking and you couldn’t hear yourself over the roar when Adam hit it out! 🔥
@@christian.edland That’s what I hear! Wish I could’ve been there to see it. Yeah, I think the excitement of clinching the WS so easily after Adam’s grand slam got to the Braves and they forgot there was still 8 innings left, so they slipped on the defense and pitching. Sad we couldn’t win it at home. If the crowd was deafening when Freddie got the last out for the NLCS, imagine the reaction if they had won at home. 🥲
@@travisb2846 Exactly! Like, yeah we lost the game, but Adam Duvall gave Braves fans an incredible lifetime moment. I’d rather we get a series-clinching grand slam than a series-clinching out-of-the-parker. We really shouldn’t have let our guard down and thought the game was over simply because we got a grand slam in the 1st inning. We could’ve hustled and won at home to an even bigger celebratory roar from home fans.
Great list! Also something that made Joc's 3 run homer in Game 3 so great was that it was Acuña's first time with the team in the dugout for the playoffs. When Joc hit that home run, his entire bat flip and celebration before rounding the bases was exactly what Acuña did when he hit a no doubter. The bond that team had, even with all the guys coming in at the deadline, was so great to see 😊
I was there for the Dansby/Soler back to back in game 4. My buddy looks at me before Dansbys at bat and verbatim says “Dansby gonna go 0-2 oppo taco to the chop house” !! Neither of us saw the ball land because I tackled him and covered him in a $15 beer the second that ball left the bat 😂. One of the best memories I’ll ever have. Great video!! Love the list!!
Great list love the video, one thing I would love to see in this video maybe 20-17 would be Matzek’s behind the head no look play for a double play against the Phillies
Me, my dad, and my sisters went to the game before we clinched the division, my dad went to the game after that were we clinched the division, and then my entire family went to the game we won the pennant and we were on tv for the Rosario 3-run home run and we were pumped to see Matzek get out of Luke Jacksons jam
That Homer by Soler in game 6 had me going mad crazy.. and to watch him beat his chest soon as he hit it as a braves fan nothing could contain me after that... #CHOPON!!
On a PERSONAL level and opinion, that Will Smith outing in San Diego, where he strikes out the side after loading the bases, I feel like that was the most pivotal moment of the season for him. Because after that, he was lights out, especially through the playoffs. I really think that was pivotal, and really woke him up to get the best out of him to have DOMINANT postseason.
Soler should be #1 for that 3 run shot. Absolutely crushed into orbit. That Matzek inning and Rosario surgically guiding himself around the tag were pretty amazing too.
It's so hard not to have the Rosario and Albies runs against the Dodgers higher. Not only were they so pivotal to winning the game of course but it set the tone for the whole series that extended even to the WS. I'm glad you had the Rosario catch off of Altuve where you did, that was such a monster play. I think it's often overlooked due to all the homeruns they hit. Fried getting out of game 6's 1st inning jam was also big or at least an honorable mention. That game could have gotten away quick early on.
Love coming back to these videos... (esp after a tough loss like tonight’s vs Rockies) Love the list but one thing that is wildly underrated? ... Maybe none of it all happens if not for how Max responded after getting his ankle stepped on. The strike 3 where he hit 98.4 ..... I never knew he could even throw harder than 94! And you could see the look in his eyes, he and his team were not to be denied in that game 6 in Houston.
Good overall list, I would have put the Will Smith debacle/miracle @ San Diego higher just because that game/series was so big (Although after watching all 20, not sure where you could really move it to :) ). One more edit, I'm not sure how #1 is #1. I'm putting #2 at #1 and #1 I think is way lower.
That San Diego series is what turned Will Smith around and you can't tell me any different. Also, could you do a video on Chip's best calls of the year?
Its been a while since I was able to watch most of the braves games and let me tell you being able to do so last year I had no idea I would witness something so special as this right here!
That double for Riley in Game 2 vs the Dodgers, I feel like Taylor or Bellinger would run that ball down. We were fortunate to have Betts in center at that time.
I would argue the Dodgers walkoffs should definitely be higher. I would put them over the Duvall GS, Freeman’s go ahead HR off Hader, and the tying of the Dodgers game at least and for me they are neck and neck with the back to back HRs by Swanson and Soler.
Great comp, you killed it with this one. Not sure I can put Freddie HR against Hader over some of those Dodger NLCS moments, I was way more hype when Rosario homered off Buehler in Game 6 for instance.
Do Dansby next Eddie. I am a huge braves fan and been to over 138 games that y’all played. I went to the game against the dodgers in 2021 and saw when you stepped out of the batters box because you did not want the attention.
Number 16 woulda never happened is the outfielder really tried to play the ball. He could tried running faster and diving for the ball. Poor outfielding, BRAVES WIN 🥇
and now of course after my braves finally win it all and im looking forward to a new season now they are on a lock/strike, whatever it may be, i dont know the inner workings of these things, so i cant comment to much but i just get the greedy vibes from these things
We were up 7-0 with 2 outs in the 9th. Everybody knew we were gonna win. We had a chance to clinch a WS at home and Duvall’s grand slam made everybody think that we had it won. I got louder for his slam than I did the ground ball to swanson
@@christian.edland I can understand that. I was most emotional after the win than any other point since the 1995 World Series win. Everyone has their reasons.
oh pls tell me ozzie's walkoff is in here yessir! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y4CajeJgVzw.html the kid behind the catcher's mitt has the mood
