I have only been at this 2 mouths . I tried a few blades . I like Wilkinson sword and dorco blades . I do like Astra blades too but they are a bit sharp for me . As I get better at shaving i know I will like more blades . Good video. Thanks .
Great choice. I use the Astra greens too. I am happy with them. I use them with a Merkur Futur Shaver and Speick Shaving-Cream. Next time I will try some other creams, but Speick is really smooth!
Anybody mentioned Shark blades in these "Top 5" ("4" in your case), many people say they're low quality, but I completely agree with you. I think Astra Green are one of the most versatile on the market, lot of people love them, me too but personally I prefer the Blue ones
i only like the " supermax stainless " and they are dirt cheap too i bought 400 for £18.50 delivered here in england . I got those astras but 5 of them came with the s1 - still a good video . take care dude.
Maybe you could do a followup on the interaction between blades and razors/settings if adjustable. Have you ever tried a feather blade in a feather ss.razor? I couldnt tell their was a blade
I would say that these Astra's are the most versatile of all of my blades. I can put it in my Muhle R41 and it performs beautifully and in my Muhle R89 and it malls through my growth. Voskhod are beginning to tug for some reason. Any buyers, I have 300 of these that I would like to unleash.
For me Voskhod is #1 and then Astra is #2 I have very thick hair and V just works great in a OC or Bar razor and is very smooth. For a while I only use an OC for every day use.
Hello, there 😀! Nice vídeo, I usually use: Feather ( excelent), Gillete Blue Platinum, Rapira, Derby Premium (I don't see many people talking About then), and Iam Very curious about Astra, Voskohd and Gillete Nacet. Do you have any vídeo talking About soaps? Iam made my own but Iam always searching for different soaps.
For me its: 1. Personna Red 2. Rapira Lux 3. Astra Green I can get 3 awesome shaves with the Personna Red and Rapira Lux. I also really like KAI but they are expensive. Leonard, I will see you in a couple of weeks at the Big Shave West in Pasadena. Mark
I recently bought a straight edge razor after DE shaving for about a year and a half and found it pretty difficult to use. Do you think that a shavette would be a good beginners tool for gaining skill with a straight razor?
+Andrew Semedo shavettes are still difficult to use. Some say harder than a straight razor. The shavettes are usually lighter which can cause some to apply pressure which can lead to serious nightmares.
Outside of sharpness if you can't use it everyday the feather can't really be that good. There are a lot of very sharp (almost as sharp as a feather) that give a close more comfortable shave. I've read many reviews in which people have said feather are the sharpest but not the smoothest.
+Roberto Fuentes There is a Russian seller that does in fact sell these for $10 shipped. In fact, I have 300 that I would like to get rid of and I will sell these for that price. They worked awesome for me for a while, then, they began to tug. My growth is going gray which has made it even more coarse and wiry.
you should try the perma-sharps and the polsilver iridiums. They come from the same factory as the astras but I find them both to be sharper, with the polsilver being quite a lot sharper and a bit rougher, very much reminding me of the feather blade, but a lot smoother. Perma-sharps are around 17 bucks for a hundred on ebay, polsilvers are regularly sold for a buck a five pack on the shave bazaar on reddit. Oh yah, if you love feathers if samnitesfall is still selling his dad's unused joyful shave stainless blades on reddit those are a big buy. At least as sharp as the feather and way smoother. www.reddit.com/r/wicked_edge/comments/44hzpl/i_have_a_couple_hundred_unopened_boxes_of_1970s/?ref=share&ref_source=link Heck, if you PM me I'll mail you two of each of these once my perma-sharp refill shows up. I'd be curious what your thoughts on them are.
+Leonard Ybarra pm me a mailing address and I'll send you two of the perma-sharps, polsilvers and the joyful shave blades. The perma-sharp 100 pack should be in early next week.
